New Jersey Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Heart Instruments
Atlantic City police said surveillance video first led them to the 57-year-old suspect, who was allegedly seen on video walking through the city trying to sell the instruments. Authorities said that the man eventually succeeded in selling one, while the other is currently unaccounted for — at press time it was unclear which instrument was sold and which one was still missing.

According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, investigators obtained video footage of the theft, which they said took place around 2 a.m. on May 30. They identified the suspect as Garfield Bennett and charged him with theft and burglary on Wednesday (June 4). Officials reported that Bennett has a long criminal record and was previously arrested in April for a prior burglary.
Prior to the arrest, Heart described the missing items as a 'custom-built, one-of-a-kind purple sparkle baritone Telecaster with a hand-painted headstock, crafted specifically for [guitarist] Nancy Wilson,' as well as a 'vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin' that band member Paul Moak has played for over 25 years.
In a statement, band co-founder Wilson, said, 'These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they're extensions of our musical souls. The baritone Tele was made uniquely for me, and Paul's mandolin has been with him for decades. We're heartbroken, and we're asking for their safe return — no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable.'
Police told NBC 10 that they are not sure where Bennett sold the instrument and are asking anyone in possession of the other one to alert Atlantic City Police to return it, warning anyone in possession of the stolen item that they will be arrested and charged with receiving stolen property if they don't hand it over. 'If you've got the guitars, bring them back. Turn them in. No questions asked,' Atlantic City Director of Public Safety Sean Riggin told the channel. 'If we continue looking and we have to find them, there are absolutely going to be serious criminal charges.'

The movie is set to hit theaters on October 15 before hitting Netflix on October 29. This short window is the typical theatrical run implemented by Netflix to make their films eligible for major awards. The qualifying run might be short, but the streamer has some faith in the movie as an awards season player.

19 Aug - Following Max Zhang's viral story about how he had a near-death experience with a heart attack back in April, Ada Choi recently shared her side of the story during the press conference of her new drama, "Behind the Queen". The actress, who was asked about Max's story, where he revealed he experienced a heart attack while she was waiting to ride the duck boat, shared that the actor actually felt unwell twice in March prior to their trip, but his ECG showed nothing worrying. "Then in April, while we were in Singapore having fun, he suddenly couldn't breathe, couldn't move, and couldn't speak. He had to sit down to the side. I was so bad, I actually left him to go ride the duck boat, thinking he just had a cold. But later, seeing how pale he was, I knew something was seriously wrong. After a while, he said he was okay," she said. Ada said that it was the next morning that Max finally told her what happened while tearing up. "He told me that at that moment, looking at the four of us, he thought that if he lay down, he might never get back up again and he had to force himself to stand up. He cried as he told me this. I had never seen him like that before," she said. The actress said that upon returning to Hong Kong, Max had to undergo angioplasty after further tests showed that one of his arteries was more than 80 percent blocked. "When I found out about it, I felt so guilty. I got down on my knees and cried, wondering how I could have failed so badly as a wife. I just hugged him and thanked God he was okay. If something had happened to him, I would've gone crazy," she said. Ada also assured that the actor is doing much better now, and that he has already returned to mainland China to film "Call Me By Fire". "He's fine after the surgery. Marcus Morris is no longer facing casino fraud and theft allegations in Las Vegas after repaying money owed to two resorts. According to NBC Sports, the case was dismissed once he satisfied outstanding markers with Wynn Las Vegas and the MGM Grand. The dismissal was entered on Wednesday, August 6, after both casinos verified repayment. The matter dates back to 2024, when Morris wrote checks totaling $265,000 to secure casino lines of credit. When the funds proved insufficient, a warrant was issued, and he was arrested in Florida on July 27 in connection with those markers. Following his arrest, he posted on Instagram that what bothered him most was 'f***ing with my character first and foremost and putting me in jail in front of my family.' He expanded on that point in a conversation with his twin brother, Markieff, on their YouTube channel. 'Don't ever put my name with nothing but fraud,' Marcus Morris said. 'This is not fraud activity. I have never wrote a check to no casinos in exchange for money that I can put in my pocket. I wrote exchange for credit thinking that you know the source of the income and you know what I've done in the past years to pay it back plus put the money back that I chose to take from y'all to gamble with.' With the legal issue resolved, Marcus Morris remains a free agent after last appearing in the NBA during the 2023–24 season.
