Woman in Kajang rampage stressed, unhappy with life in Malaysia, say cops
PETALING JAYA : A foreign woman who crashed into three motorcycles and attacked several people with a knife at a traffic light intersection in Kajang yesterday was reportedly stressed by life in Malaysia and unhappy with her treatment while studying in the country.
Kajang police chief Naazron Yusof said the 24-year-old, a student at a public university, had been remanded for seven days until Aug 20.
'So far, statements have been taken from 11 witnesses, including the victims,' he said in a statement today.
'Two victims who were hospitalised are in stable condition and remain under observation.'
The incident occurred at 11.58am when the woman, driving a car in a reckless manner, rammed into three motorcycles at a traffic light junction before getting out with a knife and attacking members of the public.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, Section 279 of the Penal Code for reckless driving, and Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for negligent driving.

'This is not the time for people to politicise this issue — an act that may jeopardise the prevailing harmony. 'Allow time for the authorities to investigate transparently until a decision is made. 'If there is indeed an injustice involved, we will see to it that a fairer and more transparent action be taken. 'Right now, let this matter take its course since investigations are underway,' he said. The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC), on August 8, announced that the girl's body would be exhumed to allow post-mortem to be conducted, stating that further investigations by the police were necessary to ensure that all aspects of the case would be thoroughly examined. — The Borneo Post

Gemencheh primary school headmistress, 44, dies after collapsing in teachers' room
TAMPIN, Aug 17 — A Chinese national-type primary school headmistress in Gemencheh near here passed away after losing consciousness in the teachers' room today. Tampin police chief Supt Amiruddien Sariman said they received a report regarding the incident at 11.25 am and were informed that the victim had been resting in her room as she was feeling unwell. 'Initial investigations found that the 44-year-old woman had (earlier) attended the school's Entrepreneur Day Programme. 'At 9 am, the victim's colleague found her unconscious and she was taken to Gemencheh Health Clinic, where she was pronounced dead by the attending doctor,' he said in a statement today. Amiruddien said the deceased was sent to the Forensic Department of Tampin Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death, and the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR). — Bernama
