EastEnders star breaks silence on exit after 3 years as he addresses future
EastEnders' Bobby Brazier has revealed grand ambitions for the future ahead of his exit after 3 years.
The actor and Strictly Come Dancing 2023 runner-up, 22, will depart his Freddie Slater role later in the year.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to Metro: 'We can confirm that Bobby Brazier will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future.'
Some of his biggest storylines have included beating Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) unconscious with an iron and punching him multiple times, being diagnosed with ADHD diagnosis, and more recently an affair.
His head was turned by Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) – despite the fact she was in a relationship with his best mate Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell).
Speaking of his forthcoming departure, Bobby said that it could be an uncertain time ahead.
'I don't know, I guess that's how it really goes and how it works in this industry,' he explained.
'You never really know what's next until you go for it.'

He continued to OK! Magazine: 'But yeah, I'd like to play a variety of different roles so I can work out what I like, what I'm good at and what I need to work on.'
Last year he starred in Curfew, a drama set in a society where men are restricted by a curfew to protect women's safety.
Bobby starred alongside Alexandra Burke, who found fame on The X Factor and is now a musical theatre actress.
'I found Alexandra Burke really inspiring,' he continued to the publication.
'We did a lot of scenes together as she played our teacher.
'I would love to do what she has done and go into the West End. I would love to be talented enough to get up on stage and sing and dance every night.

BBC EastEnders character rushed to hospital after attack
Spoilers for the show this week have revealed that popular Walford character Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), will be attacked following a break-in. Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) is seen to push Patrick after being caught in the act. The storyline has been teased in the latest round of spoilers ahead of this week's episodes. Has Oscar run out of chances in #EastEnders, tonight at 7:30pm on @BBCOne and on @BBCiPlayer? In upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, it is revealed that Oscar decides to break in and steal Patrick's £6,000 betting winnings. It comes after Fat Mike (Tai Hilferink) demands £5,000 in return for the Branning family's safety. After Patrick catches him in the act, Oscar pushes him, and he falls to the floor unconscious. Patrick's partner, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), waits at the hospital for news while Howie gives a statement to the police. His role in the BBC soap saw him earn an Outstanding Achievement award at the 2018 British Soap Awards. A long-standing resident in Albert Square, he has gone through various storylines over the years. These include family affairs, such as reconciling with his adoptive son Paul Trueman (Gary Beadle) and biological son Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) and an affair with Pat Evans (Pam St Clement). Other storylines featuring the character include Patrick being assaulted in his own shop and becoming embroiled in Claudette's feud with her son, Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood). Gregg Wallace's Masterchef behaviour is branded 'disastrous' by former winner
Janet Street Porter has branded Gregg Wallace's excuse for his behaviour on MasterChef as 'disastrous' - and compared him to another BBC star in the process Janet Street Porter has labelled Gregg Wallace's justification for his conduct on MasterChef as "disastrous". The 60-year-old TV personality was dismissed from the popular BBC programme following an inquiry that upheld 45 out of 83 accusations levelled against him. The allegations ranged from unwelcome physical contact to instances of inappropriate undress. While Gregg has since expressed regret, he firmly maintains that he is "not a groper, a sex pest or a flasher". Following the launch of the investigation, Gregg disclosed his autism diagnosis. He criticised the showrunners for failing to "investigate my disability" or safeguard him from what he now perceives as a "protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment". In a chat with The Sun, he admitted: "I know I struggle to read people. I know people find me weird. Autism is a disability, a registered disability." He further attributed the claim that he "never wears pants" to his autism, explaining: "It's not sexualised. It's hypersensitivity - that happens with autism." However, Janet Street Porter, 78, took issue with Gregg's defence during her appearance on Times Radio. She drew parallels between the MasterChef probe and an investigation into allegations made against Russell Brand. Earlier this year, the BBC issued an apology after examining eight complaints about the former 6 Music presenter. Of these complaints, two were lodged during his tenure at the corporation. Former Celebrity MasterChef winner Janet has spoken out, saying: "Back then anybody working class, first of all you were regarded as a bit thick. He has no justification, his justification for everything has been disastrous, absolutely disastrous." She continued to draw parallels with another celebrity, stating: "He's exactly like Russell Brand, he's in his own world and they just do not see it. They do not see it. There's plenty of people like that." The BBC parted ways with both Gregg and his ex-colleague John Torode following an inquiry into their behaviour on MasterChef. The investigation, led by law firm Lewis Silkin, found merit in a complaint alleging John used racist language eight years prior. John however denies the allegation, and says he has "no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened". Speaking in the immediate aftermath of his "sacking", John said: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay - I am seeing and reading that I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. He expressed disappointment over how the situation was handled, adding: "The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong. I'd hoped that I'd have some say in my exit from a show I've worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that." Despite the controversy surrounding Gregg, the BBC has announced that the new series of MasterChef will still be broadcast next month. A BBC spokesperson stated: "After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey." The broadcaster acknowledged the complexity of the decision, saying: "This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC." The spokesperson continued: "However, we believe that broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process. We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series." The corporation has yet to make any announcement regarding the Christmas or celebrity versions of the programme.

I've been Metro's WWE and pro wrestling expert for almost six years now, travelling the world (and logging onto Zoom) to speak to the biggest names in sports entertainment, from The Undertaker and Becky Lynch to Triple H and Rhea Ripley. Even I had my reservations. I make a living out of sharing real life stories, but how far should the curtain be pulled back on a business built on the suspension of disbelief? The new five-part series – which launches today with all episodes available to binge – had promised an unprecedented look behind the scenes, from the writers room and beyond. After watching all five episodes over two days earlier this month, I can safely say director Chris Weaver has crafted a uniquely touching and surprising look at the world of wrestling that only adds to the magic. It's impressive that the team crafted something that will work for the uninitiated just as much as the diehard fanatic, succinctly explaining terms like 'heel' (bad guy), 'babyface' (good guy) and 'Gorilla Position' (WWE's backstage production hub) without patronising. Almost from the get-go in episode one, we get to see the writing room, getting a glimpse at how Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and his creative team put together hours of television a month. It almost feels a bit naughty listening into to these meetings over the entire season, as they debate Royal Rumble winners, John Cena's heel turn, and even how to motivate Jey Uso on the road to WrestleMania. Episode 1 – New Era Episode 2 – The Push Episode 3 – Worth the Wait Episode 4 – Heel Turn Episode 5 – WrestleMania There are moments fans have seen reports of in the news, but never seen with their own eyes. That all changes here. The first episode delves into the Raw premiere on Netflix in wild detail, even showing how producer Chris Park (AKA Abyss) worked with Seth Rollins and CM Punk on their January 6 main event. I found myself actually feeling a little heartbroken, as the TNA Wrestling legend got a dressing down from boss Bruce Pritchard for the match overrunning. It went down brilliantly with fans at the time, but here the executive calls it 'overwritten', leaving Abyss – a mountain of a man – almost cowering as he apologises and asks if Bruce is mad at him. It's not a moment that paints the executive in the best light. Elsewhere, we see Chelsea Green pushing back on the ending to her Saturday Night's Main Event match where she became the first ever Women's United States Champion. We delved into it with her last week, but seeing her discussions with producers – as well as hearing her journey firsthand – is fascinating. Just as engaging is the in-depth character pieces Netflix have created for each episode, putting the superstars front and centre as their true selves, with the likes of Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Triple H, Bianca Belair and more all heavily featured. One of the season's highlights comes in episode four, Heel Turn, which goes into startling detail on John Cena's turn to the dark side earlier this year. WWE's production is second to none, and their partnership with Netflix is on full display with a stunningly-presented timeline about how Triple H communicated with a close knit circle to pull it off without anything leaking. Triple H only spoke to The Rock, John Cena, Cody Rhodes and Travis Scott about the big plans, even keeping it hidden from right hand man Bruce until the very last second. The episode also showcases how WWE's veteran director had to call everything on the fly, cutting to different cameras and capturing the action despite not knowing what was coming. Cena's heel turn was thrilling to watch in the moment – but it's just as exciting follows the drama happening just behind the curtain. I won't spoil too much about the series, as it's a genuinely enthralling ride from start to finish, culminating fittingly at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. What I will say is that something many fans were fearful of may actually be the best thing for wrestling – and superstars like CM Punk still manage to tread the line without giving too much away. If you already love WWE, you'll love seeing how they create the magic. If you've never given it the chance, you'll gain a deeper respect for pro wrestling as an artform. You'll weep for Rhea Ripley as she breaks down her devastating shoulder injury which has left her with a lump on her shoulder until she finally decides to undergo surgery. More Trending You'll cheer for Jey Uso as he finally gets his moment at the Rumble with his son watching in the front row. And you'll gain a deeper respect for the men and women that step into the ring all in the name of entertainment. Yes, it's scripted. Yes, it's a show.
