While many TV stars chase film roles, Vivian Dsena shared he was not interested in the medium.
In an industry where many television stars dream of making the leap to the big screen, Vivian Dsena continues to stand apart. While conversations around the challenges faced by TV actors trying to break into films are common, Vivian isn't interested in fighting that battle — not because he doubts his potential, but simply because the medium doesn't appeal to him..
In a chat with Mid-Day, the actor opened up about his perspective on films, his love for television, and a fresh chapter that has fans buzzing. 'By God's grace, I have done four shows, and all of them have been hits," he told Mid-Day. 'I would like to continue doing that, whether on television or the web, but films are not really my type."
But while he's ruling out movies, the actor is definitely not stepping away from the limelight. In fact, he dropped some exciting news that's bound to thrill his loyal fanbase. 'I've come back, really come back to work. There are a lot of discussions and new projects in the pipeline, so hopefully, you'll see me in a series very soon," he shared.
As per reports, Vivian is all set to explore the world of digital entertainment. With web platforms opening up new storytelling possibilities, the actor confirmed he's currently in talks for several OTT ventures and will be returning to screens in a series shortly. It's a move that aligns perfectly with his comfort in performance-driven formats while allowing him to experiment with fresh narratives.
Adding to the celebration was another significant moment—Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, one of Vivian's most beloved shows, completed 13 years on May 28. Reflecting on that unforgettable journey and the massive fan support the show received, Vivian got nostalgic.
'During Madhubala, fans would come all the way to Film City just to meet me," he recalled. 'There were women who would say, 'Sir, my husband may not watch anything else, but he never misses your show.' These people came only for RK (Vivian's character), and I truly feel I was at the right place at the right time and I put in just the right amount of hard work to make it count."
Vivian Dsena made waves in the Gladrags Mr. India contest in 2007, which became a launchpad for his career on television. Over the years, he has built an enviable career. With memorable roles in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and more, he's carved a niche few can rival.

Prithviraj Sukumaran reacts to not receiving National Award for Aadujeevitham: 'All that I ever wanted from that film...'

Prithiviraj Sukumaran, who was recently seen in Sarzameen, is one of the most popular actors in Indian cinema. He has primarily worked in Malayalam movies along with Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies. Prithviraj has given several terrific performances in films, and Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life was one of them. Unfortunately, the movie hasn't received a National Award. Prithviraj Sukumaran talks about Aadujeevitham not receiving National Award In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Prithviraj Sukumaran was asked about how fans were expecting him to be a frontrunner at the 71st National Awards for his 2024 release, Aadujeevitham. Reacting to this, the Sarzameen actor shared that he is content with the success of the 2024 survival thriller and that no award is a 'goalpost' in his mind. Prithiviraj Sukumaran acknowledges that audience liked his performance in Aadujeevitham 'I wanted the film to work. I wanted people to like my performance, and most importantly, I wanted the world to know that man's story. All three happened. There's nothing else that I want from the film,' the actor said. 'If I get a National Award, great; if I don't, congratulations to whoever gets it,' he added. Why did Ashutosh Gowariker and other jury members skip Aadujeevitham? According to the report, the decision to omit Aadujeevitham from the winners list of the recently announced National Awards has faced severe backlash. In an interview, National Awards jury member Pradeep Nair revealed the reason by saying that jury chairperson Ashutosh Gowariker and others felt that the 'adaptation lacked naturality' and the performances weren't 'authentic'. More about Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life For the uninitiated, Aadujeevitham is an adaptation of the 2008 Malayalam novel of the same name by Benyamin. Directed and co-produced by Blessy, the biographical survival drama film starred Prithviraj Sukumaran as Najeeb Muhammed, the Malayali immigrant living in Saudi Arabia. Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life is among the top 10 highest-grossing Malayalam movies at the worldwide box office. It is on the fourth spot in the list after Empuraan, Manjummel Boys, and 2018. Prithiviraj now has an upcoming Malayalam film, Vilayath Buddha, in the pipeline, which is scheduled to hit the screens this year. Apart from this, he is also a part of SS Rajamouli's yet-to-be-released movie, SSMB29, co-starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra.
