Videos capture brawls on and off Stampede grounds, four arrested after midway fight
The altercation spilled into a midway game booth and involved several employees attempting to break up the fight.
Calgary police say officers responded to reports of a disturbance where a fight had broken out between four people at Stampede Park at around 12:13 a.m. Tuesday.
'The fight spilled into the booth of a midway game and the midway employees attempted to remove them,' CPS said in a statement.
Officers arrived on scene and placed four individuals under arrest, police said. Charges are pending.
A video of the incident, shared on Instagram, appears to show multiple midway employees trying to bring an end to the altercation.
North American Midway Entertainment did not respond to request for comment.
A spokesperson for the Calgary Stampede confirmed they were aware of the incident.
'We can confirm that both Calgary Police Service and Calgary Stampede Security responded to that incident,' said Kerrie Blizard, director of public safety and environment at the Calgary Stampede. 'All four offenders were escorted off park by Calgary Police Service that evening.'
Another video shared to social media on Tuesday appears to show a separate brawl in downtown Calgary, near the Wildhorse Saloon in the 500 block of 6th Avenue S.W.
The video, posted to Instagram by YEGWAVE, shows at least six individuals involved in a violent altercation outside the Wildhorse tent. At one point, an individual is shown face down on the ground as another person kicks them in the head.
It's unclear when exactly the altercation took place.
CPS said it is not aware of any reports about the incident.
Police are working to protect pubic safety at Stampede events, CPS said in a statement.
'The Calgary Police Service is working with our partners and community groups to provide a safe environment for all and we encourage everyone to enjoy Stampede events and celebrations in a lawful and safe manner,' CPS said.

Feds investigating case of stolen game-worn Heat gear from Kaseya Center worth ‘millions'
A federal investigation was launched in early 2024 regarding game-worn Miami Heat gear that was stolen from the team's Kaseya Center facilities, mutliple sources confirmed to the Miami Herald. The federal investigation began 18 months ago, with the stolen game-worn Heat memorabilia sold over a multiyear period, according to a source. The stolen items include game-worn gear from high-profile players such as LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade, among others. Meadowlark Media's Amin Elhassan first reported the news of the investigation on 'The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz' this week. 'There is another federal investigation going on right now about the sale of ill-gotten memorabilia,' Elhassan said on the show. 'This one concerns memorabilia — authenticated memorabilia — stolen from the Miami Heat, and sold for many, many, many, many, many millions of dollars. Perhaps one of the largest heists of this kind. 'What red-flagged it within the memorabilia community is you never see people with this much stuff. You might get a game-worn jersey, but to get a game-worn full set? NBA Finals? For multiple players? As it was described to me, this is one of the largest, if not the largest, memorabilia heists in the history of this country in any sport.' One suspect who has been identified through the ongoing investigation is a retired Miami police officer who went on to work for the NBA's security division, according to a source. Another person of interest is an individual who is from California and might have purchased some of the stolen memorabilia and put it up for auction, the same source said. A source also indicated that the investigation identified an Instagram account that might have been used to help facilitate the sale of some of the stolen memorabilia. That account has since been deleted. The game-worn gear was being stored by the Heat as historical memorabilia that could have been used for the potential creation of a Heat Hall of Fame. When asked for comment, a Heat spokesperson said: 'We cannot comment on an ongoing investigation.' The NBA did not immediately respond to a request for comments. When asked for an incident report, a spokesperson from the Miami Police Department responded: 'This is an FBI investigation.' 'The FBI does not confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation, except in rare circumstances where the public's assistance is requested,' an FBI spokesperson said when contacted about the investigation. The Heat, which is in the middle of its offseason, is scheduled to hold its annual media day on Sept. 29 before opening training camp on Sept. 30 to kick off the 2025-26 season. Video: Cruise guest falls over side of infinity pool while reaching for sunglasses
A Royal Caribbean International cruise passenger went over the side of an onboard infinity pool. Video footage shared on social media appears to show the guest leaning over the pool's railing in the Icon of the Seas ship's adults-only Hideaway area on Deck 15. A clip posted on Instagram by the "Only in Florida" account on July 27 appears to show the guest's legs rise up before they flip over the edge. "A guest accidentally fell onto the pool gutter after reaching over to retrieve their sunglasses," Royal Caribbean Group, the cruise line's parent company, told USA TODAY in an emailed statement. "Our crew immediately attended to the guest and fortunately the guest did not experience any injuries." The company did not share any details about the guest's identity. The incident took place during Icon's current cruise, which departed on July 26. The round-trip sailing from Miami includes stops in Mexico, Honduras and the Bahamas, according to CruiseMapper. The incident is not the only one aboard Icon in recent weeks. A crew member was pronounced dead after allegedly jumping overboard after stabbing a fellow employee earlier this month. The victim was in stable condition as of July 25.
