
Over 100k security personnel deployed
Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, senior officers, including Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, IGP Dr Usman Anwar and Home Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi reviewed the arrangements for the occasion in Multan and other cities.
According to the police, more than 108,000 law-enforcement personnel have been deployed for the security of 1,691 mourning processions and 3,903 Majalis across the province. Lahore has seen the deployment of over 10,000 police personnel for 81 processions and 386 gatherings. The PSCA has enhanced surveillance with over 1,600 cameras.

CM orders transport fare reduction
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered steps to reduce transport fares in the province after a decrease in diesel prices. "Reduction in transport fares is a right of people; their exploitation will not be allowed," she stated. She also directed the relevant authorities to prominently display the reduced fares. The chief minister directed the district administrations and transport department to take action against transporters who do not comply with the fare announced by the government across the province. CM Maryam leaves for Japan on official visit
LAHORE: On the special invitation of Japanese government, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday left here for Tokyo on a five-day official visit. Senior officials of the Punjab government bid farewell to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Heritage Azma Zahid Bokhari, Minister C&W Malik Zohaib Bherth, Minister LG Zeeshan Rafiq, Advisor to CM Sania Ashiq, and other officials accompanied the chief minister. It may be added that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is the first chief minister who is invited to visit Japan officially. During her stay in Japan, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will attend the World Expo in Osaka. She will visit the cities of Yokohama, Osaka, and Tokyo, where she is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with Japanese business leaders, representatives of major corporations, and government officials.
