Eamonn Holmes' dig at Ruth Langsford with brutal soulmate comment at celeb party

Daily Mirror22-07-2025
Former This Morning stars, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, sent shockwaves through the showbiz world when they announced they were heading for divorce last year
Eamonn Holmes has made a jaw-dropping dig at his ex-wife, Ruth Langsford, after reportedly claiming that his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 43, is his "soulmate". Ruth and Eamonn, both 65, sent shockwaves through the showbiz world when they announced they were heading for divorce last year.

The former This Morning stars were thought to have one of the strongest marriages in the industry. However, after calling it quits, Eamonn moved on with relationship councillor, Katie - who he subsequently took to the party island of Ibiza - while Ruth stayed silent.

Eamonn and Katie look very loved-up in recent snaps, having attended GB News star Nana Akua's engagement party earlier this month.

According to Bella magazine, dad-of-four, Eamonn, gushed that Katie was his "soulmate" at the glamorous bash in London while also reportedly quipping: "In sickness you find out who is there for you."
Commenting on the apparent dig, a source said: "It was an insensitive comment from Eamonn, but he's smitten with Katie and does feel like she has been there for him through the hard times. That said, it is a kick in the teeth for Ruth because she has been there for him since the beginning."

Now, often seen in a wheelchair due to his chronic health problems after having a double hip replacement and spinal surgery, Eamonn is said to be leaning on Katie, quite literally.
And there seems to be 'no turning back' for the star's ex, who was spotted without her wedding ring for the first time in more than a year after the split.
The Loose Women veteran announced her shock break-up with her husband of 14 years last May, and a source told OK! that ditching the ring after so long was a significant move on Ruth's part.

The source close to Ruth said: 'Removing that ring might have been a shock to fans, after she's worn it for so long. But it was the final bit of closure. It was a message to Eamonn and symbolic that Ruth's marriage and that chapter of her life is over.
She's closing the door on her past for good. Taking it off is Ruth saying, 'I've moved on, it's all behind me.' She's just desperate to get this divorce out of the way, now. There's no turning back.'
Keen cook Ruth, who shares son Jack, 23, with her Belfast-born ex posted an Instagram video recently which showed her happily prepping one of her 'favourite summer dishes' – a 'colourful, no-cook salad'.

It's not the first time the seasoned star – who is now locked in a divorce battle with GB News presenter, Eamonn – has shared her culinary exploits on social media, but it's the first time she's done so having quietly removed the wedding ring on her left hand.

Mo, 37, has since moved on with another model, Taia Tulher, 28, who is heavily pregnant with their first child. They have been quietly dating for almost two years and the couple live together in London. A source said: 'Mo met Selina after messaging her on social media and they hung out casually for a few months. 'She found out she was pregnant in May 2023 and it was quite a shock for them both because they'd been fairly careful. 'But she wanted to have the baby, despite the fact they weren't actually a couple. "She adores their son and Mo sees him semi-regularly. Now he's about to become a dad for a second time and he's over the moon. "He has been with Taia for quite a long time now and he feels ready to settle down.' The comedian, who recently completed a stand-up tour, broke up with his girlfriend of four years, actress Sophie Wise, at the end of 2022. It was then revealed he was looking for love on celebrity dating app Raya. We didn't go on a single lavish holiday — maybe we'd go to Cardiff to see family.' Raymond Warren obituary

My friend Raymond Warren, who has died aged 96, was a composer of classical music who taught at Queen's University Belfast and then the University of Bristol. Many of Raymond's pieces were concerned with Christian responses to suffering, but he also wrote music for children and young people. A late success was his charming score for Ballet Shoes, written for the London Children's Ballet, which was performed at the Peacock theatre in London in 2001 and revived by that company in 2010 and 2019. Born in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, Raymond was the eldest child of Arthur, a maths teacher and keen amateur musician, and Gwendoline (nee Hallett), a shorthand typist. He went to Bancroft's school in Woodford Green, east London, and then studied music at Cambridge. After graduating, he began teaching music at Queen's University Belfast in 1955, where he was given a personal chair in composition in 1966, before becoming professor of music there in 1969. By then receiving national attention for some of his compositions – including The Pity of Love, written for Peter Pears and Julian Bream to perform at the 1966 Aldeburgh festival – he became resident composer to the Ulster Orchestra and a key figure in the Belfast festival at Queen's (now known as the Belfast international arts festival) from its inception in 1962. As the political atmosphere in Northern Ireland became increasingly tense, his music became a witness to events: Songs of Unity (1968), a work for children that celebrated ecumenism, was picketed by Ian Paisley at its premiere, and his powerful Second Symphony (1969) reflected the growing sectarian conflict of the time. Collaborations followed in 1970 with the choreographer Helen Lewis (There Is a Time, for double choir and dancers at the Cork choral festival) and with Seamus Heaney (A Lough Neagh Sequence, seven Heaney poems accompanied by Raymond on piano). Heaney also made a recording of his poetry with Warren's music in 2011, shortly before his death. Raymond left Belfast in 1972 to take up a position as chair in music at the University of Bristol, a post he held until retiring from teaching in 1994, although he remained active as a composer for many more years. His wife, Roberta (nee Smith), a textile artist whom he married in 1953, predeceased him in 2022. He is survived by their four children, Tim, Christopher, Ben and Clare, and eight grandchildren.

Princess Andre, 18, puts on a stylish display as she shares sunkissed snaps from her Mexican holiday

Princess Andre appeared to be having the time of her life as she shared more snaps from her sun-soaked holiday to Mexico. The daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre, 18, recently returned from a luxury trip to the North American country and documented the getaway on her social media. And she took to Instagram on Wednesday to share further glamorous photographs from the holiday as she enjoyed a lavish dinner out. In the pictures, the influencer put on a stylish display in a green patterned mini dress, which she wore with a pair of silver sandals. Princess completed her outfit with a small black handbag and showed off her tan as she soaked up the rays on the balmy holiday. She simply captioned the photographs: 'Sunkissed.' Princess jetted off for the picture-perfect holiday after celebrating her 18th birthday on June 29. Her 18th birthday celebrations will be documented on her upcoming fly-on-the-wall ITV reality series, titled The Princess Diaries. Princess has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in recent years, and has been cashing in on brand deals as well as her upcoming TV fame. She has already signed big money deals with clothing and beauty brands including Superdrug, Studio London, Morphe and Revolution. The model has amassed more than 743,000 followers on her Instagram and has vowed to become a 'millionaire by the age of 20'. She proudly revealed she had bought her first car with her own money just weeks before her 18th birthday. In 2024, Princess also made her modelling debut with PrettyLittleThing after signing a four-figure deal with the brand. A source revealed at the time: 'Princess is so excited, she's looked up to her mum for years and has aspired to model for a brand like PrettyLittleThing since she can remember. 'She knows she's still young at 16 but Pete is going to oversee her work with PLT to ensure she's protected and well looked after. 'The partnership was born organically after Princess posted on Instagram about wearing the brand, it's naturally a great fit for both parties.' Princess has lived her life in the spotlight as the daughter of showbiz legend Katie and pop star Peter, and is now following in their high-profile footsteps.
