Big Brother star ‘dreading' holiday with mum amid shock health battle
Big Brother star Imogen Thomas has opened up about the heartbreaking impact of her mum's Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis — and in an exclusive interview, admits she's now 'dreading' their upcoming holiday to Italy as her condition worsens.
Big Brother star Imogen Thomas has shared the heartbreaking reality of her mum's ongoing battle with motor neurone disease, admitting during an exclusive chat with OK! that sadly, she's 'dreading' an upcoming holiday as her mother's condition continues to worsen.
The Welsh model, 42, revealed in an exclusive chat with us, that her mum Janette was diagnosed with the progressive neurological disease in 2023, and although she's 'OK right now,' the impact on her daily life has been devastating.
'Her right side has gone now, so it's dead,' Imogen shared, speaking candidly about how the illness is affecting her family right now. 'I go home a lot, now. I'm home once a month to Wales, for four days at a time.'
In an emotional moment, the former Miss Wales revealed she'd booked a trip to Italy for herself and her mum after bidding on it at a motor neurone disease charity event - but now the excitement has been replaced by worry.
'We're going on holiday soon. I bid for a holiday at a MND charity event, so she and I could go to Italy in June, but now I'm dreading it because the circumstances and how she feels have changed,' she admitted. 'But we are trying to stay positive.'
The mum-of-two, who shares daughters Ariana, 12, and Siera, 10, with ex-partner Adam Horsley, might be known for her glam appearance and social media presence - but says dealing with her mum's health has shifted her priorities and grounded her.
Despite everything going on behind the scenes, Imogen's life hasn't slowed down. She recently returned from a family holiday to Turkey, continues to build her property portfolio, and is in a steady relationship with her banker boyfriend of two years. But she admitted the emotional toll of her mum's illness looms large.
Imogen is still as outspoken and candid as ever, opening up about motherhood, cosmetic surgery, and her future plans - including a possible third boob job, this time a reduction, due to back pain and discomfort. But when it comes to her girls, she's adamant she'd discourage them from following in her footsteps with surgery. 'I'd do everything to avoid it, because I know they would regret it,' she said, adding, 'I really don't want them to.'
The reality star and Miss Wales 2003, who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2006, says she has no regrets about her time on the show and would even go back, telling us: 'I loved it, and if they asked me to go on it now, I would.' But for now, her focus is firmly on her family - and being there for her mum, one day at a time.

TV channel to shut down tonight forever after 11 years in major shake-up
Since launching in 2014, ITVBe has been the home of reality and unscripted programmes which will now be moved to ITV2, while the channel's slot is taken over by ITV Quiz A popular TV channel is shutting down today after 11 years on-air as part of a major which first launched in 2014, has primarily been the home of reality and unscripted programmes such as The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) and The Real Housewives franchise. Comedy fans have also previously been able to watch American shows like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on the channel - but after tonight, ITVBe will no longer exist as its reality shows will be moved to a new home by merging with ITV2. These programmes will sit alongside other popular ITV2 shows including Love Island and Big Brother, and will continue to stream on ITVX, it was announced earlier this year. ITVBe's slot will be filled by ITV Quiz, airing the TV network's quiz and game shows. These include Wheel of Fortune, Tipping Point, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Lingo, Tenable, Deal or No Deal, The 1% Club, Jeopardy! and Catchphrase. As TOWIE - one of the most popular titles on ITVX - moves to ITV2, fans will enjoy a 15th anniversary series in the autumn. It is not the first time that TOWIE has aired on ITV2, with the channel being the reality show's original home when it first aired in 2010. The show, which started the careers of Mark Wright, Joey Essex, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Sam Faiers and Dab Osborne, aired on ITV2 until 2014, when it became one of the flagship programmes on ITVBe. In its announcement earlier this year, ITV said: "ITV2 will now officially become the linear home of all of ITV's best-known reality series, as The Only Way is Essex, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Real Housewives franchises from around the world move from ITVBe to the UK's most successful digital channel for 16-34s, in June 2025. TOWIE and RHOCH join a rich schedule of returning formats, including Love Island and Big Brother, and exciting new commissions which are lined up throughout the remainder of 2025 on ITV2, and will continue to stream on ITVX. "The supercharged ITV2 offering also includes animated comedies (Family Guy) original commissions (G'Wed and Transaction) blockbuster movies and younger skewing factual entertainment, like Olivia Attwood 's Price of Perfection, which are all also strong performers on ITVX. Both Love Island and Big Brother are due to return in the Summer and Autumn months respectively, alongside a second series of Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends, following its talked about debut series in 2024. "The Only Way Is Essex will turn 15 meanwhile with a celebratory Autumn series. The move to ITV2 marks a homecoming for TOWIE as part of its 15th anniversary year, having initially debuted its first 12 series on ITV2." It added that the reality genre remains the most popular on ITV2 and ITVX, with Love Island and all of its spin offs being streamed 2.2 billion times, while Big Brother has been streamed over 100 million times. Streaming of TOWIE reached 66 million in the 12 months up to April, ITV said. The statement concluded: "As the flagship commissions move across to their ITV2 broadcast home, ITV will retire the ITVBe brand from its portfolio in June 2025. ITV plans to use the channel slot as ITV Quiz, drawing on ITV's popular, market-leading UK quiz and game shows, and the success and learnings of ITVX FAST channels." Earlier today, we reported that Love Island 's first bombshell has been revealed as a stunning Las Vegas pool party waitress. Antonia Laites, 24, looks after the VIP cabana huts at the swanky Fontainebleau Resort in the gambling mecca. She is the first American bombshell to take part in the reality dating show, which kicks off on ITV2 on Monday. She will join the other islanders as a bombshell - a role usually reserved for the best-looking contestants.

Welsh seaside town with cobbled streets and an ancient pub features in Death Valley Viewers of the show may have spotted this Vale of Glamorgan seaside town within the first few seconds of Death Valley's recent episode when a car drove through its streets as it headed to the church for a wedding Llantwit Major became the fictional town of Cwmishel in the latest episode of BBC's Death Valley (Image: BBC ) Llantwit Major has been transformed into the fictional town of Cwmishel for the third episode of Death Valley. Viewers of the show may have spotted the Vale of Glamorgan seaside town within the first few seconds of the latest episode as a car drove through its streets as it headed to the church for a wedding. In this week's episode, which aired on BBC One on Sunday, June 8, Janie (played by Gwyneth Keyworth) was tasked with solving the murder of best man Gethin Bennion the night before the wedding. Gethin's body was found in the graveyard of the church, which some may have spotted as the grounds of St Illtud's Church. And a bit later fans got to see inside the beautiful church. Some may say it is this church that put Llantwit Major on the map. Around the fifth century St Illtud established the oldest seat of Christian learning in Britain. Now the place is a charming little town with its cobbled streets, quaint shops, and eateries and is only a stone's throw away from the seaside. Article continues below Known in Welsh as Llanilltud Fawr this town is about a 40-minute drive from the Welsh capital and about a 25-minute drive from Barry. Its nearby Cwm Colhuw Beach (or Llantwit Major Beach) is the perfect place to go surfing or for a coastal walk. For a decent walk in the area start your journey at the beach car park before embarking on the path that offers spectacular views of the Bristol Channel, 12th-century castle, limestone crags, cliffs and caves hollowed out by the sea, before reaching the Nash Point Lighthouse. This walk, which is great to spot fossils, is also a circular walk and can take you back to Cwm Colhuw Beach. And after that walk you might be fancying a sit-down meal and there are plenty of options in this corner of Vale of Glamorgan. Rosedew Farm's Acorn Café is a popular venue. In 2016 the town's beloved pub The Old Swan Inn underwent a drastic £40,000 makeover. The 12th-century pub is now home to a dedicated restaurant area so you can enjoy a hearty pub meal with your pint. The inn serves dishes such as a slow-cooked pork belly, vegan curry, and the classics including fish and chips and steaks making it the perfect spot that caters for anyone's appetite. Other places to dine or drink include The Old White Hart – the 18th-century pub on the aptly-named Wine Street – while its sister pub Tudor Tavern, just around the corner in Church Street, is just as old. If Italian and Mediterranean dishes are what you're looking for head over to Porto Due nestled in Pound Field. And for your cosy cafés you have Bakehouse in Commercial Street, Café Velo in Church Street, and The Cwtch Restaurant in East Street. And Llantwit Major would not be the town we know it as today without its array of shops.
