Two Irish singles enter the Love Island villa
Today at 17:51
Conor Phillips (25), a professional rugby player from Limerick and Megan Forte Clarke (24), an energy broker from Dublin stepped into the Love Island villa in Mallorca for the first time this evening.
The reality TV show returned to TV screens this evening, with the 12 singletons searching for love.
Megan introduced herself as a 'competitive girl' who is looking to find the love of her dreams in the villa.
She said: 'Say I want a man in the villa and I see another girl that wants him, I'll be fuming.'
The musical theatre lover added: 'I am partial to a ginger, but I don't know if that's the ginger in me.'
Megan chose landscape gardener Tommy (22) from Hertfordshire.
Introducing himself he said: 'I'm tall dark handsome half Italian and a mummy's boy. If my mom doesn't get along with you it would be a dealbreaker.
'I want to find someone and do something meaningful with them on a deeper level.'
Megan told Jama she was happy with what she saw before the pair bonded over their mutual Sicilian heritage.
When the pair chatted Tommy told Megan: 'I'm softer at heart, I know I look like a bit of a geezer but I'm softer deep down.'
"I can't believe you're a quarter Sicilian, my nonna will be watching this and she'll be buzzing.'
After presenter Maya Jama gathered the six girls together they were presented with a 'dating profile' of each boy, with Helena choosing Conor.
His profile read: 'I've scored worldies on and off the pitch but I'm here to find the one.'
Helena wasn't too keen on the idea of a rugby player but once Conor appeared in the villa, she told Jama that she liked what she saw.
After the pair chatted, she said: 'After speaking to Conor he did surprise me. I thought he was going to be boring, but now the only problem is he said blondes aren't his usual type!'
Speaking about himself Conor said: 'I have been told I'm a bit arrogant, a bit cocky and a bit of a ladies man, but they're not wrong, it's not the worst thing in the world.
"I'm the class clown type vibe. Being in big teams and groups all the time, I'm always mixing things up, stirring the pot.'
The 25-year-old rugby union player added he is ready for a serious commitment.
'I'm doing nicely as a single person, but I need a relationship, I need to settle down and invest in some stocks.'
