11-year-old boy seriously injured in Joliet dirt bike crash over Memorial Day weekend
JOLIET, Ill. — An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured after his electric dirt bike collided with a vehicle in Joliet on Sunday evening, police say.
Joliet police responded to the 5800 block of Arbor Gate Drive on reports of a traffic crash with injuries just before 6:30 p.m.
Police say the boy was riding a Razor electric dirt bike westbound when he entered the roadway from a driveway and was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado.
He was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center with serious injuries and was later airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as a 20-year-old man from Plainfield, was uninjured.
The roadway was closed for a significant period of time, police say. The crash remains under investigation.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Mud Island earlier this week, Memphis Police confirmed. VCU was advised that when DeSoto County assisted MPD with the arrests of Christopher Skelton, 29, and Justin Furnish, 42, for unrelated charges on June 2, 2025, the red truck was at the scene. Loose tire injures two highway cyclists near Atwood
RAWLINS COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A loose trailer tire slammed into two cyclists Friday afternoon along U.S. Highway 36, leaving both with serious injuries. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Friday as a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling on U.S. 36, towing a trailer. The trailer lost a front tire, which broke free and struck two 75-year-old cyclists riding on the shoulder. KDOT changes weekend closure plans for I-135 in Wichita Both cyclists, from Marion, were taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries. One dead following two-car crash in Union County
NEW ALBANY – A Union County man was killed in a two-car crash east of New Albany Wednesday morning. The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 30 in the Keownville community in Union County on June 4 around 5:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation determined that Joshua N. Smith, 33, of New Albany, traveled west on Highway 30 in a 2014 Chevrolet Impala when it collided with the eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Nathaniel E. Neal, 20, of Tupeloi. Smith received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
