Saliva frontman won't rejoin his band, shades current lineup as 'Temu' version

Singer Josey Scott would like to come back to Saliva, but just not the current incarnation of the rock band. The singer/songwriter, 53, was the band's lead singer during the band's inception in 1996, all the way until 2011. After recording seven albums during a 15-year time span, Scott decided to leave the band to 'be a father and get sober and clean up [his] life and find [himself] mentally and spiritually and philosophically,' as he told Tulsa Stream Music. From there, Bobby Amaru has taken over lead vocals for the band and continues to front them to this day.
In a recent interview with Youngstown Studio, Scott made it clear that he had no intention of rejoining the band he co-founded. He specifically points to tensions with Amaru being the reason.
'Me and Bobby have just butted heads,' said Scott as transcribed by The PRP. 'And he's talked crap about me in the press and just done all these sort of… I don't wanna talk ill of… My mother used to say, 'If you don't have anything nice to say about somebody, don't say anything at all.' But it's just — I don't know. I don't want to give the fans the Temu version of Saliva with some kind of a bastardized version that Bobby puts together.'
Scott is referring to an interview Amaru did with Youngstown Studio in 2024, where the singer eluded to coming into Saliva 'when the other person quits and basically abandons and leaves everyone high and dry and they just disappear for a decade and stuff.' This is also
Scott is hoping for a 'Hail Mary' in order to get the band name back, but he's made his thoughts about Amaru clear in the meantime.
'He's not Saliva,' said Scott. 'He has never been Saliva. He definitely went out there and did his thing and filled in the space.'

Ralph Fiennes Leads a Choir Through Wartime Struggles in Trailer For THE CHORAL — GeekTyrant

Sony Pictures Classics has released a wonderful trailer for The Choral , a World War I-set drama starring Ralph Fiennes as a stern but passionate choir leader trying to hold a community together through music. Set in 1916 Yorkshire, the story follows Dr. Henry Guthrie, a man recently returned from Germany, who takes charge of a local choral society after most of its men are drafted into the army. With teenage boys stepping in as replacements and conscription looming over them, the choir becomes a rare source of unity and hope. 'The best response to the chaos that is laying waste to their lives is to make music together.' Directed by Nicholas Hytner ( The History Boys , The Lady in the Van ) and written by acclaimed playwright Alan Bennett, The Choral blends personal resilience with national tragedy. Fiennes' character, described as 'driven' and 'uncompromising,' must confront his own secrets as the town around him changes. The film explores how a small act like singing can become a lifeline when everything else falls apart. 'The Choral's ambitious committee, determined to press on, decides to recruit local young males to swell their ranks... despite their suspicions he has something to hide, their best bet seems to be Dr. Henry Guthrie.' The film looks to offer an uplifting portrait of community and artistic resistance during one of history's darkest chapters. I actually am looking forward to watching this! It looks great! The Choral will make its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in September, followed by a UK theatrical release on November 7. It arrives in US theaters this Christmas on December 25.
