"He taught me to never rely on shortcuts or influence": Virat Kohli's emotional Father's Day tribute to his late father
New Delhi [India], June 15 (ANI): On the occasion of Father's Day, Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli shared a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Prem Kohli, reflecting on the values and strength he inherited from him. In a deeply personal message he posted on Sunday, Kohli opened up about a pivotal moment from his childhood that shaped his approach to life and success.
Kohli took to his official Instagram handle and posted a beautiful picture along with a message,
'He taught me to never rely on shortcuts or influence -- because if you truly have it in you, hard work will show it.And if you don't have the will to work for it, then maybe you don't deserve it yet.
When I was offered an easier path once, he refused it for me.With calm conviction, he said, 'If you're good enough, you'll find your way. And if not, it's better to know that early.'
That one moment shaped how I live, work, and show up in the world.Happy Father's Day to all the fathers whose quiet strength becomes our lifelong compass.'

The former Indian captain recounted a moment when he was once offered an easier path in life--something many would have accepted without hesitation but his father declined it on his behalf, making a decision that would go on to define Kohli's attitude toward discipline and self-belief.
Virat recently bid adieu to the Test format with a heartfelt note on Instagram, days after his long-time compatriot Rohit Sharma retired from the format.
Virat's 14-year journey in the whites transformed India into a result-producing machine. He infused aggression and the culture of fitness into a team riddled with youth and experience. In a career that redefined the demands of the game, Virat scored 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, with 30 centuries and 31 fifties, and finished as India's fourth-highest run-getter in the format. He recently lifted the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). (ANI)

'Sorry sir, ye to nahi milega aapko': Rajeev Khandelwal on how he handled sexual harassment
Rajeev Khandelwal, an actor known for his roles in films like Aamir and Table No. 21, has openly discussed his experiences with the casting couch in the Indian film industry and how complicated it was for him to handle it. (Also read: The Secret Of The Shiledars trailer: Rajeev Khandelwal leads a desi Indiana Jones-style series. Watch) In an interview with Zoom, Rajeev discussed how difficult it can be for outsiders to get work and how he handled sexual harassment during that phase. The Kahii To Hoga actor emphasised that it is important for an actor to realise who he/she is and how he/she wants to achieve success. "It can be very difficult and very easy to handle it, too. You have to identify, who you are. The sooner you identify who you are and who you want to be. Kya main saam daam dhand bhed kar ke success kamana chahta hu (Am I someone who wants to achieve things through persuasion, price, punishment, and division) or am I that personality who would not find any happiness by doing all of this? I am a person who wants to earn every smile and appreciation that I get," Rajeev said. Rajeev mentioned that he took it upon himself to take charge of his career, stressing that he would not want to give anyone the luxury of owning his destiny. "It is tough to fight temptation, and easy if you know who you are. I would tell them, Sorry Sir, mere se nahi milega aapko (you would not get it from me) and in my head I would think, 'Are you the one who would write my destiny? Sorry, boss, you would not write my future, I would do that. I don't give importance to one individual that this will make or break my life," he added. Rajeev was last seen in a mystery thriller series directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, which also featured Sai Tamhankar. Inspired by the Marathi novel Pratipashchandra, the series blends historical intrigue with modern adventure, drawing comparisons to Indiana Jones. It premiered on JioHotstar on 31 January.

BTS' Jungkook's hat controversy sparks backlash against RM and aespa's Giselle, find out why
BTS member Jungkook was under fire for donning a cap with a political message during his soundcheck sessions for his act in J-Hope's HOPE ON THE STAGE FINAL day 1 concert. As the matter escalated, he personally apologized on Weverse, however, the issue is far from over. Recently, some other artists like RM and Giselle were dragged into the same controversy, with the surfacing of their past photos featuring similar accessories. RM dragged in Jungkook's hat controversy After Jungkook faced intense backlash for wearing a 'Make Japan Great Again' hat, fans began digging up similar incidents involving other artists. They uncovered a 2023 Instagram post featuring BTS leader RM in a 'Make Comedy Great Again' hat, which became the first image to resurface amid Jungkook's controversy. X users shared the post, with some adding sarcastic comments, "the most educated k-pop idol," poking fun at his high IQ and intellectual image. Besides him, aespa member Giselle was also dragged in for a similar controversy. aespa's Giselle dragged in Jungkook's hat controversy Hashtags like MAGASELLE and MAGAESPA trended on social media as a past video clip of Giselle was circulated online. It features the same black cap as RM, with the same message. For those unaware with the 'MAGA' trend going, it is an abbreviation for 'Make America Great Again', a slogan formulated by Donald Trump and later spared to other ring-winger politicians of nations like South Korea and Japan. Giselle was labelled "problematic", and faced greater hate because another aespa member, Karina, recently faced intense online scrutiny for sporting an alleged right-wing inclined jacket. Fans defended RM and aespa's Giselle in hat controversy Some fans felt that bringing up the past and drawing hate towards RM and Giselle were okay attempts by Jungkook stans to shift attention from his political scandal. They said that, "It's pretty obvious that his (RM's) and Giselle's caps have a glaring difference between JK's current controversy, stop covering it up if you want to grow other controversies." They acknowledged that the duo's hats drew inspiration from MAGA, but also stressed on the glaring difference between one that included a country's name (in case of Jungkook) and the other being an inspired-version and using the word 'comedy'.
