
Boost.ai launches on AWS Marketplace to aid secure AI adoption
The company's platform, built on AWS Cloud, is now offered to global organisations through AWS Marketplace and is intended to facilitate faster and more seamless implementation for new customers. This development is expected to simplify procurement processes for enterprises and further support compliance and control requirements in sectors where trust and security are of particular concern.

Boost.ai's focus on regulated industries is reflected in its commitment to data protection standards, holding certifications for ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, which speak to enterprise-grade data security and privacy management. With more than 600 live virtual agents deployed across over 450 organisations around the world, the company provides AI solutions to clients in banking, insurance, government, and similar fields.
The platform reportedly enables AI agents to go live within 50 days. Citing a recent deployment with Sage, boost.ai highlights its blend of implementation speed without compromising regulatory or security obligations.
Key benefits outlined
According to the company, among the primary features of boost.ai's platform for AWS customers are advanced natural language algorithms for customer interaction, enterprise-level control enabled through a combination of conversational and generative AI, and seamless integration with platforms such as Salesforce to allow for enhanced self-service.
These attributes, the company states, contribute to high market-leading resolution rates, with the platform achieving resolution rates above 90%. The AI solution is designed to empower customers to resolve their own queries and complete actions independently via virtual agents.

AI adoption low among NZ SMEs despite positive impacts, survey reveals
MYOB chief customer officer Dean Chadwick said emerging trends in the use of AI locally focus on driving awareness and sales. 'Our insights show SMEs are primarily employing AI tools to bolster marketing efforts – helping with the copywriting of marketing materials and press releases (39%) or generating social media posts (31%),' Chadwick said. 'A consistent voice in market is key for businesses to stay top of mind for their audience, particularly in an economic environment when every dollar of revenue counts.' Chadwick explained that the use of AI aligns with the top skills SMEs identified would be the most important to their business over the next five years, namely customer service (40%) and marketing (32%). Kiwi SMEs are also proactively using AI tools for copywriting technical documents, reports and training materials (25%), customer service support including chatbots and virtual assistants (21%), and for analysing markets, trends and risks (21%). One interesting insight from the survey highlighted that younger generations of business owners are leading the way when it comes to AI adoption. Almost all of the Gen Z business operators surveyed (93%) and more than half (59%) of millennials polled had started using AI tools in their businesses. This is compared with Gen X and Baby Boomer business owners, who sit at 28% and 17% respectively. 'In taking the heavy-lifting and time investment out of some of these tasks, the efficiency gain AI provides to SMEs not only ensures business owners can focus on higher-value tasks, it also offers a reprieve on workload. 'Alongside cashflow concerns, workload is the top business-related factor that has negatively impacted the mental wellbeing of a third of local business operators in the past two years. Intelligent tools that can help ease this burden will likely improve employee engagement and well-being as a result.' As to why adoption is not as high, 39% of SMEs surveyed felt AI tools weren't needed or appropriate for their business, with 30% of this group believing they don't know enough about it. Some respondents were more specific, with 18% believing there weren't any AI tools specific to their business needs. However, almost a fifth (19%) still don't trust the new technology. 'Knowledge and confidence play a big role in the adoption of new technologies. It's understandable that a portion of SMEs are hesitant to embrace AI in their businesses.' 'However, given the integration of AI in a range of everyday systems, from autocompleting sentences in email, to reminders and forecasting in business management software, it's also possible many business owners don't realise they're already using AI.' Chadwick said SME owners who are still hesitant should discuss the topic with a business mentor or speak with other businesses to learn how they are benefiting from the technology. The MYOB Business Monitor is a national survey of more than 1000 New Zealand business owners, managers and directors, from sole traders to medium-sized companies, representing the major industry sectors. New Zealand looks to learn from China's technology innovations

Artificial intelligence, robotics, electric vehicles and new forms of energy were frequently referenced by speakers and panelists at the 11th China Business Summit in Auckland on Friday. The event coincided with Technology Minister Shane Reti's announcement of a new institute to advance technology to be created in the country's largest city. Zheng Liang, deputy director of the China Institute for Science and Technology Policy at Tsinghua University, outlined the three stages of China's science and technology development. Initially, China just adopted technology from Western nations before integrating practice from around the world for indigenous innovation, he said. After entering the third stage, China was now striving for breakthroughs in more fundamental research and development, Liang said, adding that AI and electric vehicles were just some of the achievements. "What has made this happen [is] continuous investment in research and development in the past four decades," Liang said. He said ongoing policy support, China's openness to the world and successes in developing an internet economy also drove China's breakthroughs in AI. Liang highlighted China's use of AI in agriculture to help with harvesting, in healthcare to help with diagnosis and treatment, in pharmaceuticals to help with administration and stock control, in tourism to create virtual experiences, as well as in education manufacturing and governance. "I think New Zealand ... [can] do [something] similar," Liang said, pointing to agriculture and tourism specifically. Liang said the two countries complemented each other and could work together. "Maybe China could [provide] some practices [and] experiences, and New Zealand can [offer] the new potential scenarios [in terms of] how to adopt this kind of technology and experience," Liang said. "We can't replicate the power of AI research of China or the United States or the European Union," Witbrock said. "But we can - and we do - have the capability to significantly contribute to its development and, therefore, be part of determining our future and the future of our fellow humanity. "I hope you'll join us in helping us to build an AI capability in New Zealand ... and to direct it into technology as well for our economic advantage and for hopefully China's economic advantage as well." Witbrock expected growing pains while the country embraced AI but said it was better to face up to challenges. "New Zealand in the past has had a history of facing up to social reality and social change and doing the right thing and doing a thing which has, at those times, actually were periods of great innovation and great growth for New Zealand culture," he said. "I think we can do this again for AI and it's going to happen," Witbrock said. "The sooner we face up to it, the sooner we start to work out [such things as] how does economy work, how does resource allocation work, how do people get what they need to live their lives, the better we'll do. "In that transition period, there are enormous short-term gains for the country as well by ... exploiting ... the economic benefits of those productivity gains." "There are some real areas of expertise ... that's coming through some world-class universities, amazing research programmes and then obviously being able to convert that technology," he said. "We need to adopt a lot more technology and science innovation into our system as well because that tells me how we're going to get some of those productivity gains that we're so desperately looking for." DuploCloud has announced the availability of its AI Suite through the new AI Agents and Tools category in the AWS Marketplace. The launch enables AWS customers to discover, purchase, and deploy DuploCloud's Agentic Help Desk for DevOps, providing tools designed to accelerate the development and deployment of AI agents and workflow automation within AWS environments. Marketplace expansion The AI Agents and Tools category in AWS Marketplace functions as a unified catalogue for a variety of artificial intelligence solutions from AWS Partners. DuploCloud's inclusion in this catalogue means customers can streamline their procurement events, accessing AI solutions via their existing AWS accounts and infrastructure. According to DuploCloud, the AI Suite is designed to help organisations minimise manual DevOps tasks and automate cloud operations. The suite includes built-in security protocols to simplify DevOps management and scale cloud-based initiatives, offering customers the ability to focus resources on core software development rather than operational overheads. Agentic Help Desk and AI Studio AI Suite introduces several key components for customers. At the centre is the AI Help Desk, which leverages large language models (LLMs) alongside live infrastructure data. This tool converts user requests into executable actions, facilitating human approval and teamwork as part of agentic DevOps workflows. The suite also features an AI Studio that supports the creation and deployment of agents within containerised Kubernetes environments. These tools together allow users to automate even highly complex workflows based on written prompts. The platform executes these tasks securely, not merely suggesting actions, but taking steps towards their completion whilst retaining oversight and approval workflows for teams managing critical infrastructure. Streamlining procurement Participation in the AWS Marketplace's new AI category enables organisations to accelerate their procurement and deployment of AI technologies. By leveraging their AWS accounts, customers are able to maintain central oversight of software licenses, billing, and user permissions, reducing delays previously caused by extended vendor negotiations and multi-party evaluations for technology adoption.
