Gilead Sciences (GILD) Announces that US FDA Approves Yeztugo®as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)

The approval of Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD)'s New Drug Applications (NDAs) for Yeztugo was supported by data from Phase 3 PURPOSE 1 and PURPOSE 2 trials conducted by the company. In the US, Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) continues to work closely with insurers, healthcare systems, and other payers, targeting to ensure broad insurance coverage for Yeztugo. Furthermore, for eligible commercially insured individuals with commercial insurance, the company's Advancing Access® Co-Pay Savings Program is expected to reduce out-of-pocket costs to as low as zero dollars.
Notably, HIV product sales saw an increase of 6% to $4.6 billion in Q1 2025 as compared to the same period in 2024. This was mainly driven by increased average realized price and demand. Impax Asset Management, an investment management company, released its Q1 2025 investor letter. Here is what the fund said:
'Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) (Health Care) the company is owned due to its role in solving evolving heath care challenges through the development of new medical treatments for conditions as chronic diseases are on the rise. The company also has one of the highest systematic ESG scores in the portfolio. Gilead reported better-than-expected quarterly results, largely driven by strong revenue from its HIV franchise. The company also provided an optimistic earnings guidance for the next fiscal year, helping provide defensiveness amid a flurry of volatility.'

Water advisory for portion of Rehoboth Beach lifted after bacteria levels lowered
The water advisory for a portion of Rehoboth Beach, issued the day before the Fourth of July holiday, has been lifted. The state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control lifted the advisory after a retest, taken on July 3 at Rehoboth Avenue and tested in a lab for 24 hours, found the water to be "below the standard for recreational contact." The beach remained open in Rehoboth on July 4 despite the advisory, though swimming is not typically recommended when these advisories are in effect. The state's announcement noted the advisory was formally lifted about 4 p.m. WHAT HAPPENED: Temporary water quality advisory issued in Rehoboth Beach after bacteria levels test high This marked the first advisory issued this summer for the Delaware beaches. The state environmental department tests for the indicator bacteria, enterococci, at all guarded (and several unguarded) public beaches during the swimming season. High enterococcus levels can mean there are other potentially harmful bacteria and viruses in the water, the department's website says. Those most at risk during these advisories include children and individuals older than 65, with medical conditions or weakened immune systems, the release said. Rocket Lab Stock Soars Higher as Neutron's Maiden Flight Nears
Rocket Lab Corp. RKLB is currently on the cusp of a transformative milestone with its highly anticipated Neutron rocket approaching its maiden flight in the second half of 2025. RKLB's shares gained 40% year to date, while the same soared 103.6% over the past three months. The space launch services market has been witnessing solid growth trends driven by surging demand for satellite constellations, increasing government and defense investments, and the growing need for low-cost, reliable access to space to support telecommunications, Earth observation, and national security missions. Therefore, investors interested in this business realm may keep RKLB along with other industry players like Boeing BA and Lockheed Martin LMT in their watchlist, which already enjoy an established footprint in the space launch market. Boeing's products have powered human space exploration for six decades now.
