Suspected ISI agent arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur
A 24-year-old youth, who was recently arrested in the Panipat district of Haryana for allegedly supplying sensitive information to some individuals in Pakistan, hailed from the Kairana district of Uttar Pradesh.
The suspect, Nauman Ilahi (24), also was allegedly in touch with a Pak-based ISI handler, Haryana Police sources had said on Thursday.
Ilahi, who worked as a factory security guard, was nabbed on Tuesday.
He was reportedly staying with his sister and brother-in-law at Hali Colony in Panipat.
On March 13, the Uttar Pradesh ATS had arrested an employee of the Ordnance Factory at Hazratpur in the Firozabad district for allegedly sending sensitive and confidential information to a Pakistani agent, who had befriended him on Facebook.
The accused was identified as Ravindra Kumar, a chargeman at the factory.
"In the last few days, the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) has been receiving information about handlers of a Pakistani spy agency, under pseudonyms, luring staff at the External Affairs Ministry and the Government of India, and offering them money to obtain confidential and classified information and documents, which could have posed a threat to India's internal and external security," the ATS had said in a statement.
"On a thorough probe, it was found that Ravindra Kumar, a chargeman at the ordnance factory in Hazratpur, was sending sensitive and confidential information to a Pakistani agent, who was his Facebook friend," the statement said.
The ATS squad said they found sensitive and confidential documents in Kumar's phone, which he had sent to the Pakistani agent. He could not offer a satisfactory explanation for this, they said.
"During interrogation, Kumar said he has been working in the Ordnance Factory since 2006, and as a chargeman since 2009.
Around July 2024, he became friends with Neha Sharma on Facebook.
He frequently chatted with her on WhatsApp, via audio and video calls," the ATS said.
"Ravindra Kumar, in the greed of becoming rich, used to send her confidential information.
He also said he used to frequently delete the WhatsApp chats, but some chats and confidential documents remained in the phone," the ATS said.

NCB secures freezing of illegally acquired property worth Rs 9.20 crores in Amphetamine trafficking case
New Delhi [India], June 8 (ANI): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, successfully freezing assets worth Rs 9.20 crores linked to an amphetamine trafficking case. The office of Competent Authority and Administrator under the SAFEMA & NDPS Act has confirmed the orders of attachment issued by NCB (Operations branch), concerning immovable properties worth Rs. 9.20 crore of the prime accused linked to a major seizure of 95.501 kilograms of Amphetamine effected in October -2024. These assets have a registered value of Rs. 9.20 crores. The immovable properties include a luxury apartment in Jaypee Greens and a factory premises in Kasna Industrial Area, Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, acquired using proceeds from international narcotics trafficking. The operation was conducted jointly by the Narcotics Control Bureau, operations branch, and Delhi Police Special Cell, which uncovered a clandestine Amphetamine manufacturing lab in Kasna Industrial Area, Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh and seized 95.501 kg of Amphetamine in both solid and liquid forms. Investigations conducted so far have revealed that the mastermind, whose property has been attached, is Delhi-based businessman and the main manufacturer of seized drugs, who was assisted by four other accused, including a Tihar Jail warden and a Mexican national. The syndicate was involved in transnational smuggling of synthetic drugs. All five accused were arrested and are presently under Judicial Custody. Investigation also revealed that the setting up of the clandestine laboratory was financed by the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), a notorious Mexican cartel, which transferred money to Dubai using cryptocurrency. The amount was then received in New Delhi, in cash, by the accused through hawala, facilitated in three separate instalments. This case exemplifies NCB's commitment to effectively identifying drug trafficking networks and disrupting their ecosystem by freezing illegally acquired assets. To fight against drug trafficking, NCB seeks the support of the citizens. Adampur air base: The 'damaged Sukhoi' Pakistani reports had claimed that a China-made JF-17 fighter jet damaged a Sukhoi Su-30 at the Indian Air Force's Adampur air base during the four-day conflict last month. But Symon, using satellite imagery from March 2025, two months before the hostilities, showed that the jet in question was actually a MiG-29 undergoing maintenance. The dark patches Pakistan interpreted as burn marks were consistent with soot from regular engine testing.
