He could have plenty of company.
The 28-player group could swell significantly in the coming decade, with Yankees teammate Giancarlo Stanton (432), Mike Trout (395), Paul Goldschmidt (370), Manny Machado (359), Freddie Freeman (353), Nolan Arenado (351) and Bryce Harper (346) all within striking distance.
Lurking a little further down the active leaderboard, Kyle Schwarber (314), Eugenio Suarez (307), Mookie Betts (282), Francisco Lindor (267), Shohei Ohtani (257) and Pete Alonso (247) are piling up big numbers and still in their early 30s.
And then there's Juan Soto, who already has 224 homers at the tender age of 26.
Some are stronger candidates than others, given their injury history and age. The 35-year-old Stanton has battled various ailments over the past several seasons, but has been productive when he's played.
The 33-year-old Trout has been slowed by injuries, too, but hit enough homers in his 20s that it would be surprising if he didn't eventually reach the mark.
This generation's group of sluggers is reminiscent of a stretch from 2001 to 2009, when Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Ken Griffey Jr., Jim Thome, Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Manny Ramirez, Frank Thomas and Gary Sheffield all made it to 500.
The biggest difference is several of those players' accomplishments were tainted — at least to some — because it was part of a era that included widespread use of performance-enhancing drugs.
The club has been relatively hard to join over the past decade. The last to reach 500 was Detroit's Miguel Cabrera on Aug. 22, 2021.
Before that, Red Sox star David Ortiz slugged his 500th homer in 2015.
Even among the elite sluggers, Judge stands out for the speed in which he's piling up dingers. Many forget he didn't play his first full big league season until he was 25, but the 33-year-old has needed just 1,088 games to reach 350 homers.
Unsung non All-Stars
This group of players won't be featured at the All-Star game in Atlanta on Tuesday, but they are having great under-the-radar seasons through the first half.
Ceddanne Rafalea, Red Sox: The 24-year-old center fielder has blossomed in his second full MLB season and is hitting .271 with 14 homers, 48 RBIs and 13 stolen bases, all while playing excellent defense.
Nico Hoerner and Michael Busch, Cubs: Hoerner continues to be one of the game's best second basemen, batting .283 with 18 doubles, 39 RBIs and 16 stolen bases, all while providing Gold Glove-caliber defense. The 27-year-old Busch is batting .290 with 19 homers, providing the NL Central-leading Cubs some thump.
Cristopher Sanchez, Phillies: The left-hander has been a big part of a stacked Philadelphia rotation with a 8-2 record, 2.50 ERA and 122 strikeouts in 115 innings. He put an exclamation point on his first half on Sunday, giving up just one run over 7 1/3 innings in a 2-1 win over the Padres.
Framber Valdez, Astros: The righty had a terrific first half with a 10-4 record, 2.75 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 121 innings.

Here come the Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox have won 10 straight games heading into the All-Star break — their longest winning streak since 2018 — setting up an intriguing second half for a club that looked very average for most of the season's first three months.
Rafaela has been one of the major catalysts for Boston's surge, hitting a walk-off homer on Friday night and another two-run homer in Sunday's win.
The AL East race could be a barnburner as summer turns to fall with the Blue Jays (55-41), Yankees (53-43), Red Sox (53-45) and Rays (50-47) all in the mix. Even the last-place Orioles aren't completely out of it yet, sitting at 43-52 which is 11 1/2 games out of first place.

2025 MLB All-Star Game MVP Prediction, Pick: Back Long Shot Kyle Stowers
The Midsummer Classic is upon us, with the National League hosting the American League on Tuesday night at Truist Park in Atlanta. For some, the MLB All-Star break is a welcome opportunity to relax and recharge the batteries before the second half of the season. Others (and I'll include myself here) are bored without baseball during the summer, and we want some action before play resumes Friday! The American League has dominated the All-Star Game in recent years, winning 10 out of the last 11 matchups. Does that trend continue, or does the National League punch back and get just its second win since 2012? I've thought all year that the National League has more contenders and is the slightly more talented league. But does that translate to a one-game exhibition setting on Tuesday night? While both teams are stacked with dominant pitching and outstanding hitters, both teams also saw their fair share of opt-outs due to either nagging injuries or pitchers who started this past weekend not wanting to pitch on short rest. However, what I prefer to focus on is the All-Star Game MVP market. Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, to nobody's surprise, are the favorites to win All-Star Game MVP, with both players around 6-1 odds. The nature of the All-Star Game is usually close and low-scoring, and lends itself to someone winning MVP with a late hit that wins the game. With starters usually getting just an at-bat or two, the players who come off the bench are the ones who might have a good chance of winning this award. Last year, Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran had 50-1 odds and broke a 3-3 tie with a fifth-inning home run that earned him MVP, as nobody scored the rest of the game. Two years ago, a 2-2 tie was broken late by then-Rockies catcher Elias Diaz, who homered to give the National League a 3-2 win, and Diaz captured honors at incredible 200-1 odds. So my advice would be to find a position player who isn't a starter and take a shot with them at some longer odds. Admittedly, it's very hard to handicap because so much of winning MVP comes down to getting an at-bat at the right time, ideally with players on base with a chance to win the game late. Only two pitchers have won this award in recent memory. Mariano Rivera won in 2013 (his final year in the majors) when the game was in New York, and Shane Bieber in 2019, when the game was in Cleveland. Both were sentimental choices, considering where the game was played, so I'd stick with a hitter when trying to find this year's winner. And that's why I'm eyeing Kyle Stowers. The Marlins' slugger comes into this game hot. He went 5-for-5 with three home runs in his last game prior to the break, tallying seven hits over the three-game series against his former team, the Orioles, this past weekend. He fits the profile. He's a bench player who can win the game late with a big hit, and you're getting monster odds at 100-1. While the game is a coin-flip, I do think the National League is slightly better, so I opted for an NL player. Brent Rooker (65-1) and Pete Alonso (45-1) were also players I considered, but I'm going with the underrated Stowers to jump into the National spotlight and win All-Star Game MVP. 2025 MLB All-Star Game to take place at Braves' home park after it was taken away over voting law controversy
The MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday night at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia, with the American League looking to continue its dominance over the National League. The American League has won 10 out of the last 11 games, not including the 2020 season in which the game was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The National League won the game in 2023, but the American League rectified their loss last season in Arlington, Texas. This year, the game heads to the home of the Atlanta Braves. It's the first time the All-Star Game will be played in their stadium since they played at Turner Field in 2000. The Braves were initially supposed to host the 2021 All-Star Game at Truist Park, but it was removed over an uproar about a voting law the state passed. The Election Integrity Act of 2021 placed new restrictions on voting by mail, added voter ID requirements and limited ballot drop boxes. Then-President Joe Biden criticized the law as "Jim Crow on steroids." On Monday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp praised MLB for returning the game to Atlanta and creating economic opportunities for businesses in the city. "We're excited about the game finally being here. It should have been here several years ago. They never should have pulled it to start with, but thankfully the game's coming back," Kemp said in an appearance on "Fox & Friends." "It's good for the Braves organization. It's good for all the vendors and small business people in and around the ballpark and in the city of Atlanta up in Cobb County and really for our whole state." The law is presently still in place as the baseball world descends on the city. As far as the game goes, reigning American League Cy Young pitcher Tarik Skubal, of the Detroit Tigers, is set to start against National League Rookie of the Year, Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes. New York Yankees' All-Star Max Fried handed Skubal the opportunity to start the game as he felt that Skubal had earned the honor.
