KRISHNAGIRI:
AIADMK
will once again prove that the western region is its stronghold, said party general secretary
Edappadi K Palaniswami
on Tuesday. Palaniswami was responding to
DMK
leader and chief minister M K Stalin's comment on Monday that the AIADMK's loss in the upcoming assembly election would begin in the western region.
'We will once again demonstrate that the western region is the stronghold of the AIADMK in the assembly elections. It was under the AIADMK rule that numerous projects, including the Smart Project valued at Rs 1,000 crore, were executed in Coimbatore and Tirupur municipal corporations," EPS said while speaking at Krishnagiri town.
He said while DMK may be the ruling party, AIADMK holds the power in Coimbatore. "We have established ourselves as a formidable party by securing 80% of the votes in the western region during the 2021 elections," he said.
EPS said 15 lakh medical camps had been conducted during the AIADMK's decade-long governance. 'Now, a label has been affixed to that initiative. With seven months remaining for the elections, they have launched a project named Nalam Kakkum Stalin. Likewise, they have announced that 46 public grievances will be addressed through the Ungaludan Stalin initiative. These are merely gimmicks by Stalin,' EPS asserted.

He said DMK is destined to encounter a defeat in the assembly elections.
"AIADMK will secure the govt with a clear majority. We will safeguard the people and preserve Tamil Nadu," he said.
He accused the DMK govt of insensitive by planning to hold the teacher eligibility test on Nov 1 and 2. 'Nov 2 is the All Souls' Day. This day is significant for Christians, as it is when they visit cemeteries to pray for their deceased relatives. He said Christian candidates would find it difficult to take the exam on Nov 2.

US makes major visa announcement for Gazans; Laura Loomer claimed Palestinian refugees flooding airports

US announces halting all visitors' visa from Gaza. The State Department made a major announcement of halting all visitor visas for people from Gaza for the time being, as it conducts a full and thorough review of the "process and procedures" used to issue medial-humanitarian visas in recent days. 'All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are being stopped while we conduct a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days,' the department wrote in a statement posted to X. The announcement came after MAGA activist Laura Loomer ranted for a day how Palestinians have been entering the country via a humanitarian organization through various airports. Loomer questioned how so many Palestinians were getting visa from the State Department. Loomer said she obtained video footage of Palestinians who claim to be refugees from Gaza coming into the US via San Francisco and Houston. "The Palestinians traveled from Gaza to the US with the help of a group called 'Heal Palestine'. How did Palestinians get visas under the Trump administration to get into the United States? Did @StateDept approve this? How did they get out of Gaza? Is @SecRubio aware of this?" Loomer ranted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Loomer said the administration needed to shut this before a family member of one of these Gazans turn rogue and kills Americans for Hamas. 'Deeply concerned about the incoming flights - including to Texas - allegedly filled with folks from Gaza as reported by @LauraLoomer. Inquiring,' Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) wrote on Friday. Earlier this month, France suspended evacuations from Gaza after a Palestinian student allegedly shared a social media post with an image of Adolf Hitler that called for killing Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot told France Info radio that the woman "must leave the country" and that she "has no place" in France. "No evacuation of any kind will take place until we have drawn the necessary conclusions from this investigation," Barrot said in the interview.

Vaiko slams ED raids, backs DMK alliance

Trichy: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Saturday condemned the enforcement directorate raids on premises linked to minister I Periyasamy, alleging that the Union government was misusing central agencies to target opposition leaders. "The Centre is using income tax and enforcement departments to intimidate opponents and stifle voices. That is why raids are being conducted at the house of minister Periyasamy. This is strongly condemnable," he told reporters in Trichy. Vaiko dismissed speculation of a rift within the DMK-led alliance, saying: "Some media outlets are deliberately spreading lies that we are yearning for ministerial posts. That is false. MDMK continues to support DMK based on a decision we took years ago. The DMK alliance will secure the biggest victory in the 2026 assembly elections." He also expressed concern over reports that Indian students could be sent to join the Russian army. "My son Durai Vaiko has already met the external affairs minister, senior officials, and the prime minister on this issue. Has Russian President Putin become Hitler? Is the Russian army going to act like the Nazis again? The Indian government should immediately intervene and bring back the students," he said.
