A truck driver travelling in the direction of Yau Ma Tei near Fat Kwong Street suddenly lost control and steered towards the bus stop, hitting two women.
The victim was rescued from beneath the vehicle by firefighters and transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she was pronounced dead later.
The other woman, 33, suffered injuries to her limbs and was also taken to the same hospital for a check-up.
In a dashboard camera footage circulating online, the vehicle appears to have lost control after skidding and swerving across the slow lane, narrowly avoiding a bus.

Hong Kong police investigate Cambodian scam farm link to missing girl

Hong Kong police are investigating whether a teenage girl who went missing for several weeks had been involved in cross-border scam farm activities, with mobile phone traces showing she had been in Cambodia before she was found safe. Hong Kong identity card holder Wu Peishan, 17, had left her hometown of Haifeng in Guangdong province on July 1 for a leisure trip to Beihai, Guangxi, accompanied by friends, her father told mainland Chinese media. He called her directly on July 5 after failing to reach her by other methods. At first, she claimed to be in Shenzhen, but later admitted she was in Beihai. On July 9, a friend told her mother that she had been out of contact for two days, sparking their concern, reports said. The teenager's phone location on July 5 showed she was in Vietnam, according to a police insider. The parents found that the girl's phone location on July 7 was Svay Rieng, a border province in southeastern Cambodia. This was reportedly the location of the last available signal. The worried parents filed police reports in both Hong Kong and Haifeng.

18 arrested over forged Hong Kong talent scheme documents, including 13 mainland Chinese

Hong Kong immigration authorities have arrested 18 people, including 13 talent scheme applicants from mainland China who are each suspected of paying a middleman HK$2.5 million (US$318,470) for fake documents such as academic qualifications to gain residency. Advertisement Hui Chi-kin, an assistant principal immigration officer, said on Wednesday that the case was the first time the Immigration Department had uncovered a criminal syndicate in its investigations. The syndicate was believed to have been operating for 1½ years, targeting applicants to the government's Top Talent Pass Scheme. The department estimated that the group had worked on at least 22 applications, with each case potentially costing clients up to HK$2.5 million, earning the criminals HK$55 million in proceeds. Hui said the cross-border syndicate was identified by an intelligence-led investigation. Officers launched an enforcement operation in April and arrested five alleged core members of the syndicate, including the mastermind. Advertisement All five, aged 42 to 56, are Hong Kong residents. The mastermind and core syndicate members were each provisionally charged with one count of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring another for making a false representation for the purpose of obtaining an entry permit.
