Jim Carrey shaves another $1M off his longtime LA home after a deal fell through

New York Post06-05-2025
Jim Carrey is once again trimming the price of his Los Angeles estate, shaving off another $1 million and relisting the property for $18.75 million — after a prior deal collapsed.
The actor first put the Brentwood compound on the market in early 2023 for nearly $29 million, as The Post reported at the time.
Since then, it has undergone several price reductions before entering contract late last year.
That transaction ultimately fell through, and the property returned to market in February, according to Mansion Global.

Located along North Tigertail Canyon Road, the roughly 2-acre spread includes a modernized midcentury ranch house built in 1951.
Spanning more than 10,000 square feet, the mansion features five bedrooms, a curved sunroom and an Art Deco-inspired theater.

Outdoor amenities include a pool with a waterfall, a guest house, a tennis court, and a standalone structure dedicated to yoga and meditation.
Carrey, 63, acquired the home in 1994, during the peak of his rise to Hollywood stardom.
He emerged as a comedy icon in the mid-1990s with blockbuster hits like 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,' 'Dumb and Dumber' and 'The Mask,' and later earned critical acclaim — and two Golden Globes — for his dramatic turns in 'The Truman Show' and 'Man on the Moon.'

The property narrowly avoided direct impact from the January wildfires in nearby Mandeville Canyon but was close enough to prompt evacuation.
Real estate professionals in the area say the fires contributed to a wave of insurance and financing uncertainties, with some pending sales, including Carrey's, falling apart amid the heightened risk.
Carrey previously said he was letting go of the residence simply because he no longer spends much time there.
His listing agent, Graham J. Larson of Sotheby's International Realty, declined to comment.

Wendy's new meal bag comes with a ‘Raven's Blood' Frosty. When can you get it?

Wendy's is teaming up with Nevermore's favorite 'pig-tailed provocateur' for its latest meal deal. The Wendy's x Wednesday Meal of Misfortune arrives Monday, Aug. 4, for a limited time at participating Wendy's restaurants nationwide, according to the Ohio-based burger chain. Inspired by the hit Netflix series, the bundle includes 'Rest in 10-piece' nuggets, a small 'Cursed & Crispy' fries and the new 'Raven's Blood' Frosty made with vanilla soft serve and a dark cherry swirl, the restaurant said. Each bag comes with two of four 'inferno-inspired mystery sauces' for dipping. 'Don't bother asking which sauce you'll get – you must surrender to your destiny,' Wendy's said. The burger giant is no stranger to themed meal bags, offering a grown-up twist on its classic kid's meals. Most recently, it teamed up with snack brand Takis for a limited-time bundle featuring the spicy corn chips. In October, it launched a Halloween-inspired 'Boo Bag' complete with a Dave's Single, small fries, Frosty treat and a glow-in-the dark figurine, McClatchy News reported. Wendy's 'Meal of Misfortune' will roll out in time for 'Wednesday' Season 2, the first half of which debuts on Netflix on Aug. 6, according to the streaming giant. Part 2 will premiere in September. Each meal comes in custom packaging inspired by Wednesday Addams herself, including a bag that reads: 'There's nothing happy about this meal.' Pricing information wasn't immediately available. Can you tell an AI influencer from a real one? The Post polled Times Square visitors — and the results were not great

Don't believe your lying eyes. With the incredibly rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence, it's getting harder to tell what — or, more precisely, who — is real these days. Sexy influencer Mia Zelu made headlines earlier this month after her stunning snaps from Wimbledon sent fans into a frenzy. Advertisement 13 Instagram users were fawning over photographs of Mia Zelu at Wimbledon earlier this month — but it turns out she's not a real person. The AI character was created by an unidentified software developer, fooling millions of people. The blonde beauty boasts 168,000 followers on Instagram, but there's just one problem: she isn't real. Mia is an artificial bot designed by an unidentified software developer, and she's just one of a growing species. Advertisement 'AI influencers' are cropping up on social media in droves, duping users into believing they're actual humans with their incredibly lifelike images and videos. Findings from Getty Images VisualGSP research and image testing revealed that 68% of people '…can't tell if an image is AI-generated. This highlights the need for clear labelling for AI-generated content…' Getty Asia-Pacific head of creative Kate Rourke told Stockhead. Knowing that, The Post took to Times Square to see if both locals and tourists could tell the difference between real beauties and fake bots. We showed each participant six different images — three snaps of real-life influencers and three of computer-generated AI models — and asked them to guess which was which. Post 13 Big Apple resident Quinn Starner, 23, was stumped several times doing The Post's quiz. Olga Ginzburg for N.Y. Post The results were shocking: It turns out it's extremely difficult for people to distinguish between the genuine and computer-generated. Not a single person was able to guess all six correctly. Many more failed dismally, showing just how easy it is for software developers to trick even tech-savvy youngsters into believing what they see on a screen is real. Image 1: Dina Advertisement 13 Dina boasts more than 172,000 followers on TikTok — but is she a real beauty or an AI bot? @diinaxxy/Instagram 13 Manthan Thaker, 32, from Tampa, Florida put his skills to the test. Olga Ginzburg for N.Y. Post Swedish influencer Dina boasts more than 172,000 followers on TikTok — but the brunette has recently faced AI accusations. 'Lemme tell you guys I am not AI generated,' she insisted in a video shared online, saying she's simply 'very good at doing makeup.' But a majority of the pedestrians The Post tested in the pop quiz thought Dina was designed by an AI tech whiz, citing her use of Photoshop and filters. Several were stunned to learn she was indeed a real person. Sometimes, it seems truth really is stranger than fiction. Answer: Real model Image 2: Aitana Lopez 13 Aitana Lopez boasts 372,000 followers on Instagram, where fans fawn over her too-good-to-be-true beauty. @fit_aitana/instagram Advertisement Aitana Lopez, an AI model, is the brainchild of Spanish software developer Rubén Cruz. Real companies pay the fake model to advertise their products online, and Cruz is now making up to $10,900 a month — thanks to his AI creation. And while the items she promotes are authentic, it's assumed that a sizable share of Aitana's 372,000 Instagram followers don't know that she's simply a fictional character. A majority of the people we stopped and tested in Times Square were also unable to tell that the beauty was a bot. Answer: AI Bot Image 3: Ines Troccia 13 Italian model Ines Trocchia, 30, is pictured. Several social media skeptics believe she's AI. @inestrocchia/instagram 13 'That's fake man, that's AI, that's AI,' David Gonzalez, 20, told The Post. Olga Ginzburg for N.Y. Post Advertisement Italian model Ines Trocchia, 30, is another real-life beauty facing AI accusations due to her sizzling photographs. 'It's extremely frustrating that people think I'm an AI model,' Trocchia told outlets last year. 'It's complete insanity to me.' Several people we stopped on the street were also convinced that Trocchia looked too good to be true. 'That's fake man, that's AI, that's AI,' David Gonzalez, 20, told The Post. Advertisement The Queens local was stunned — and excited — when he learned Trocchia was indeed a real person. 'Oh my God,' he enthused, joking that Trocchia ought to give him a call. 'I'm Dom, I'm from New York if you wanna… you know what I mean.' Answer: Real model Image 4: Gessica 13 Gessica Kayane has close to 20 million followers on Instagram. @gessica/instagram The third real-life beauty in The Post's quiz was Brazilian influencer Gessica Kayane. The brunette has an eye-popping 19.5 million followers on Instagram, but she still faces skeptics — including immigration officials from her own country. Recently, Gessica revealed she was almost barred from re-entering Brazil because her dowdy passport photo didn't match her hot Instagram images. Most of our poll participants were equally confused, believing Gessica was the creation of an AI expert. Several pointed to the model's rippling abs in the image we showed as proof that she was't human. But the influencer insists she's the real deal — aside from a few Photoshop touch-ups, of course. Answer: Real model Image 5: Milla Sofia 13 Milla Sofia is a 24-year-old social media influencer from Helsinki, Finland — but is she the real deal? @AiModelMilla/X 13 Aaron J Christopher, 21, a self-proclaimed social media influencer, stopped for our test in Times Square. Olga Ginzburg for N.Y. Post Milla Sofia is an AI bot — a fact that her creator doesn't try to hide. Billed as a 24-year-old 'virtual girl' from Helsinki, Finland, the blonde-hair, blue-eyed bot has become a sensation on social media. Her anonymous creator told the Independent that he's not trying to push unrealistic beauty standards. 'Social media influencers edit and airbrush their content all the time, and different filters are popular,' he explained. However, the tech whiz may need to brush up on his skills, as everyone we quizzed was correctly able to identify Milla as AI. Answer: AI Bot Image 6: Mia Zelu 13 Mia's photos are so incredibly lifelike that she's managed to dupe even famous athletes into believing they're legitimate. @miazelu/Instagram 13 Father and son Oscar and Carlos Simon put their skills to the test in Times Square. Olga Ginzburg for N.Y. Post With our vox pop quiz, we saved the hardest 'til last, testing tourists and locals as to whether or not they could tell if Mia Zelu (mentioned at the top of the article) is real or AI. Mia's photos are so incredibly lifelike that she's managed to dupe even famous athletes into believing they're legitimate. Indian cricket star Rishabh Pant has liked many of her posts, leading fans to believe that he'd been'catfished' 'Rishabh Pant thinks he's interacting with a real girl, totally oblivious to the fact that it's an AI,' criticized one. But it turns out Pant isn't alone. Almost all the pedestrians who partook in The Post's quiz believed she was a real model. Big Apple resident Quinn Starner, 23, was one of the few who figured out that the beauty was a bot. 'She's beautiful,' Starner stated. 'But she's fake.' Answer: AI Bot.

Ozzy Osbourne felt like Keith Richards: 'Too tough to die'

Despite Ozzy Osbourne's health woes, no one was ready for the rock god's life to end at 76. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 'surrounded by love,' his family revealed in a statement. No additional details about his death were revealed, but Ozzy had been battling Parkinson's disease since at least January 2020, and he appeared feeble in public as his health declined. 20 The Black Sabbath frontman died at 76 on Tuesday, July 22. Getty Images Cameron Glendenning, who worked with the Osbourne family for decades — first on their early 2000s hit reality show, 'The Osbournes,' and again in 2020 for 'Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne' — exclusively told The Post that he couldn't have been ready for the Prince of Darkness' death. 'I definitely didn't prep for it,' he said in a phone interview hours after Ozzy's passing was announced. Glendenning started his career in Hollywood when he joined 'The Osbournes' at the end of its first season in 2002 until the show wrapped in 2005 as a camera operator and technical supervisor. He then teamed up with the heavy metal singer as the director of photography for Ozzy's 2020 'Nine Lives' documentary. 'I kind of thought he was going to be like a Keith Richards, man. I just thought nothing was going to kill him. You know, like, [he's] too tough to die,' Glendenning shared with The Post. While the award-winning cinematographer acknowledged that the 'No More Tears' rocker 'lived a hard life for a long time,' he was still 'surprised' to hear the news. 20 Ozzy Osbourne revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2020. Chad Rachman/New York Post 20 The Godfather of Heavy Metal left behind his wife of over 40 years, Sharon, and several children. WireImage 'I felt like he really was one of those few people who was just such an absolute legend that you just, I don't know, maybe he was immortal, you know? I mean, he is,' Glendenning said. Like Ozzy, The Rolling Stones' lead guitarist struggled with drug and alcohol abuse for decades during his fame. Richards is now 81, just five years older than the late Black Sabbath legend. 20 Cameron Glendenning, who worked with the Osbournes over a two-decade span, told The Post that he thought Ozzy was 'immortal.' Getty Images for LOVE ROCKS NYC/God's Love We Deliver This isn't the first time that someone has compared the two rock stars, either. 'I've always said that at the end of the world there will be roaches, Ozzy and Keith Richards,' Sharon said in 2010 after scientists discovered her husband had a 'genetic mutant' with a unique ability to absorb recreational drugs. 'He's going to outlive us all. That fascinated me — how his body can endure so much,' she shared at the time. 20 Sharon Osbourne also compared Ozzy to Keith Richards before. Biography 20 'I've always said that at the end of the world there will be roaches, Ozzy and Keith Richards,' Ozzy's wife said in 2010. Getty Images for Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum To Glendenning, Ozzy was more than a colleague and heavy metal superstar. He made everyone feel seen and heard, despite their status. 'He was such a working class kid and he was so down to earth and he remained that way forever, even like attaining the status that he grew to have, he was always that same person,' he told The Post. 'He never made you feel anything less than like an equal. And you know, I was 25 years old, I think, when I first started working with him. I was a kid, man, and I was looking at a guy that had been a legend for 40 years already at that point,' Glendenning continued. 20 Cameron Glendenning spoke highly about his time with Ozzy and his family on 'The Osbournes,' from 2002 to 2005. Biography 20 Right from left: Sharon Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne and Ozzy Osbourne in 2004. Getty Images 20 Glendenning also addressed his time as the cinematographer for Ozzy's 2020 documentary. Contour RA 'He wanted to have fun. It could have been me or it could have been the president of Sony Records. It didn't matter,' he recalled. 'That's what was so cool about Ozzy. He was just totally down to earth.' Glendenning admitted that the last time he spoke to Ozzy was in January 2020 on the final day of filming 'The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne' — but he doesn't take any time with the Osbournes for granted. 'It's very special. I'll cherish it forever. I will cherish every experience I have with him and that whole family. They're all wonderful people and I'm just grateful to know them,' he said. 20 'The Osbournes' ran on MTV for four seasons with Sharon, Ozzy, Kelly and Jack. Their third child, Aimee, did not want to participate. AP 20 The rocker in 'The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.' Biography 20 Ozzy married Sharon in 1982, the same year he divorced his first wife. Getty Images The Hollywood cinematographer also recalled the fun moments he had with Ozzy when the cameras weren't rolling. He shared one gag, in particular, that the Godfather of Heavy Metal loved to play on pesky fans who insisted on showing up at the family's Beverly Hills, Calif., residence at all hours of the night during their time on reality TV. 'Ozzy had this like water sprinkler system. I wouldn't call it a water cannon, but it was like a water jet, and he had it plumbed right next to the buzzer for the front gate,' Glendenning explained. 'We had like a trigger for it, and we could see when these people would come up, too.' 20 Black Sabbath (left to right): Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne. WireImage 20 Ozzy Osbourne suffered several health issues in his later years, including being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Biography 'They would come up at, you know, midnight, one o'clock in the morning, and they would just ring the bell like, 'Hey, can we come in and say hello?'' he added, noting that Ozzy would often hang out with the crew in the garage when he was bored at night. 'He'd come in there and he would be like, 'Oh yeah, let's get him! Let's go get him!'' Glendenning recalled of his fun times with the singer. Glendenning also told The Post that he's been in contact with his former colleagues about Ozzy's death. 20 Like Keith Richards, Ozzy Osbourne struggled with substance abuse. Getty Images 20 He also faced several controversies throughout his lifetime, including biting a bat's head in 1982. Michael Ochs Archives 'We're all definitely mourning him,' he said of 'The Osbournes' and 'Nine Lives' crew members. 'I'm definitely mourning, but I definitely have a huge feeling of gratitude just for being a part of that crazy time and place, and just being around a person like Ozzy was just so incredibly rewarding to me, especially [in] my earlier life. I can't even describe how f–king surreal it all was,' he stated. Ozzy leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Sharon, and their three kids: daughters Aimee, 41, and Kelly, 40, and son Jack, 39. 20 The musician was also a grandfather to 10 grandkids. AFP via Getty Images The rocker was also a father to daughter Jessica, 45, and son Louis, 50, whom he welcomed with his first wife, Thelma Riley, and another son Elliot, 59, from Riley's previous relationship that he later adopted. Ozzy married Riley in 1971. After 11 years of marriage, they divorced in 1982, the same year he married Sharon. During their 40-plus-year union, Ozzy and Sharon had their fair share of ups and downs — which included the rocker being arrested for attempting to kill her while under the influence in 1989. 20 Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne faced their share of problems during their 43-year marriage. Biography 'It was probably the most frightened I've ever been,' Sharon admitted about the incident. Despite his scary attempt, she decided to stay with Ozzy and remained by his side through several health issues that included his Parkinson's diagnosis, three operations, stem cell treatments and Hybrid Assistive Limb treatment in the years leading up to his death. The 'No More Tears' singer's final days were filled with family and doing what he loved. 20 The rocker watched his youngest daughter, Kelly, 40, get engaged weeks before his death. Instagram/@kellyosbourne A wheelchair-bound Ozzy performed his last show with Black Sabbath at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, on July 5. Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon and Rival Sons also performed, with Sharon revealing she disinvited one band. Ozzy and Sharon's youngest daughter, Kelly, also got engaged the same day as the farewell concert, and both were there to watch the emotional proposal when her fiancé, Sid Wilson, popped the question. The late metal rocker was a grandfather to 10 children, including Kelly and Sid's son Sidney, 2, and Jack's four kids with his ex-wife: Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, Minnie, 7, and Maple, 3.
