Former Alabama Four-Star Transfers to SEC Rival
The college basketball transfer portal has been chaotic since the conclusion of the NCAA Tournament, and players from seemingly every team heading to the portal to find their next destination.
Among those is former Alabama Crimson Tide guard Rylan Griffen, who spent two years in Tuscaloosa before transferring to the Kansas Jayhawks last year.

During his lone year at Kansas, Griffen started in 20 of his 33 games, while only averaging 6.3 points per game, almost five less than he averaged in Alabama the year prior.
He entered the portal again, and found his way back to the SEC (and his home state), as he has committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, according to Joe Tipton.

The Dallas, Texas native brings a good playmaking ability that he hopes to replicate from his Crimson Tide days. During the Tide's Final Four run in 2024, Griffen averaged 12.4 points per game off a stunning 48.1% three-point percentage in the NCAA Tournament.
After an off year with the Jayhawks, he hopes he can bring back that playmaking magic for the Aggies.

Texas A&M has put together an incredible transfer portal window, with Griffen being the fifth four-star transfer they have brought in for next season.
Combining new head coach Bucky McMillan's impressive transfer portal window with two incoming freshman (one being a four-star guard), the Aggies have another season of promise ahead of them.
As one of the more experienced teams last season, they will need to find replacements for their top scorers in Wade Taylor, Zhuric Phelps, and Henry Coleman, and a strong transfer portal window may help them do just that.
