Miranda Lambert's mom, Bev, used to make the country superstar sit down at the computer and write blog posts for her website, back when she first starting releasing music.
Lambert shared a hilarious video on her Instagram to her millions of followers across the world, where she went back and read aloud a blog post that she wrote for her website 20 years ago, on the week that she released her second single, "Kerosene."
The video shows the "Run" singer looking back at this particular blog entry, and as she starts to read it, she is already chuckling at what she wrote 20 years ago.
Lambert said, "This is a blog that I wrote on March 30, 2005 — yes, I used to write blogs." She then buckles up and says, "Here we go!"
"Can't believe the record was No. 1! I mean, 'Me and Charlie Talking' wasn't even in the Top 20. It almost feels like all of this isn't really happening. Everything is going so fast, I hope I don't forget to enjoy it."
You can tell from her vocal tone and her body language that at this point, Lambert was feeling the nostalgic memories from this moment to her core.
"Through all of the business, I was trying to find something to take my mind off of everything," she continues. "It used to be that I would play my guitar and write, but it feels a little like work nowadays."
Even though Lambert was still wet behind the ears and a rookie in the country music game at that point, you can see that she took her singing and songwriting very seriously. But she still needed a new outlet.
"I decided to go to Walmart and buy a coloring book and a 64-pack of crayons," she reads, and just reading that back out loud makes Lambert giggle.
"That did the trick, I found my new therapy," the singer states.
She concludes, "Later in life, Tito's was added," meaning she still colors in coloring books to escape, but nowadays with a little vodka infused with the fun. Miranda Lambert paid $3.4 million in 2016 for her rural estate an hour south of Nashville, which comprises 400 acres of lush green farmland. The property includes rolling hills, rustic living spaces and an enormous horse barn, as well as three residences, a lake with a boathouse and a six-bay garage. There are 75 acres of fenced-in pastureland, as well as lighted walking trails that wind through the woods leading to a pavilion, with seating for 60 for private concerts.

'Almost like an accident waiting to happen': 000 number out on Norfolk Island
Photo: Norfolk Government Locals on Norfolk Island remain concerned that their emergency number - 000 - is still down after two weeks. The president of the tourism association of Norfolk Island, Rael Donde said the island gets about 500 visitors each week and many won't know to call the alternative emergency number if they need help. "It's almost like an accident waiting to happen," Donde said. As an interim arrangement, police, fire and hospital have individual landline numbers to call. Text messages are being sent out daily and the alternative numbers are being played on the radio. Acting general manager of Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC), Philip Reid said the island had been experiencing problems with the number since early May. "NIRC is still to establish a date by which triple zero calling will be fully operational," he said. "Issues are being experienced with the dial-tone multifrequency function and connectivity to emergency services from triple-zero callers." He said the alternative numbers are shared to visitors on arrival at Norfolk Island Airport and at their accommodation. It's also available on the regional council's website and Facebook page. "Somebody passing by in a vehicle wouldn't immediately be able to recall the individual numbers that needs to be called," he said. "We just hope it can be fixed as soon as possible." Norfolk Island is a non-self-governing territory of Australia. Brett Sanderson said the number being out is a symptom of the island losing the right to self-govern in 2015 . He is part of the group, Norfolk Island People For Democracy, which is fighting to reverse the 2015 decision. In November last year, the Australian Government announced it had decided on a " new bespoke local governance model for Norfolk Island " to come into effect by the end of 2025, "with the Norfolk Island Regional Council to continue providing services until the Assembly is established". It said the new model was informed by the recommendations of the Norfolk Island Governance Committee and followed extensive community consultation. "The Norfolk Island Assembly will operate on four-year terms and comprise five elected members, including a full-time presiding officer. "It will be empowered to make local laws that support local service delivery. "The Queensland Government will continue to deliver health support services, education, apprenticeships, traineeships, and correctional services."

G7 protests to be livestreamed to leaders in Kananaskis to give protesters a voice
CALGARY - Law enforcement officials overseeing security at the upcoming G7 leaders summit in Alberta are expecting large protests but plan to make sure they stay peaceful. That includes livestreaming some of the sites to Kananaskis, where leaders from Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy and the European Union will meet from June 15 to 17. 'These three designated G7 demonstration zones will have live audio and video feeds, which will be broadcast to G7 leaders and delegations at the site of the summit in Kananaskis,' said RCMP Chief Supt. David Hall at a media briefing Monday. 'People who want to express themselves, as is their right, can't get close to the leaders, so the leaders won't see and hear the protests. So by establishing that video link, we are helping facilitate that Charter access.' Hall said teams have been reaching out to protest groups to clarify their intentions. He said protests are legal and every effort will be made to ensure they are given their right to express themselves. Joe Brar, the G7 event security director from Calgary police, said the city has protests every single weekend and it will continue throughout the summer. 'G7 puts Calgary on a global stage so we expect that to draw more protesters as well,' Brar said. 'We are working with organizers in advance ... to have conversations around demonstrations, what people's intentions are, when they're planning on demonstrating ... and ensuring they understand those that are lawful.' A display in the Calgary police parking lot showed some of the security equipment available for G7, including tactical units, protective gear, armoured police and military vehicles, and officers on horseback. 'These tools are reserved for worst-case scenarios and would only be deployed after other available options have been exhausted,' said Hall. Greg Medley, deputy chief of Alberta Sheriffs, said officers will be involved in traffic control, searching vehicles and, if necessary, helping with mass arrests. 'These officers are specially trained in the mass handling and movement of those in custody and will assure the detainees' legal rights are respected and upheld while maintaining public safety and security across all event sites.' Air restrictions over the Calgary International Airport and over Kananaskis Village have already been announced. The radius at Kananaskis Village will be 30 nautical miles (56 kilometres), while it will be 20 nautical miles (37 kilometres) at the airport. Actor Jonathan Joss, known for King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation, fatally shot in Texas
Jonathan Joss, an actor best known for his voice work on the animated television series King of the Hill, as well as a role on Parks and Recreation, was fatally shot near his Texas home, authorities said Monday. Police were dispatched to a home in south San Antonio at about 7 p.m. Sunday over a call about a shooting in progress. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 59-year-old wounded near the street. "The officers attempted life saving measures until EMS arrived. EMS pronounced the victim deceased," San Antonio police said in a statement. After the shooting, authorities arrested 56-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja and charged him with murder in relation to Joss's death. Joss, who grew up in San Antonio, was best known as the voice of John Redcorn, a Native American character on the popular Fox animated series King of the Hill that ran from 1997 to 2008. A reboot of the show is set to start in August, and Joss reportedly had already started recording audio for it. Joss also had a recurring role on NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, playing Chief Ken Hotate. He appeared in two episodes of the series Tulsa King in 2022. Joss's death was confirmed by his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales. "He was murdered," de Gonzales told The Associated Press in a text. The two were married earlier this year on Valentine's Day. Investigation ongoing, police say In a statement, de Gonzales said that before the shooting, he and Joss were checking mail at Joss's home, which had been heavily damaged during a January fire that claimed the lives of their three dogs. A man approached the two and threatened them with a gun, de Gonzales said. "Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired, Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life," de Gonzales said in a statement. Police said their investigation was ongoing and did not immediately provide any information on what prompted the shooting. Court records did not list an attorney who could speak on behalf of Ceja, who was being held in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. A GoFundMe page had been set up in January for Joss after the house fire. According to the page, Joss had lost all of his belongings in the fire, including his vehicle. Actor was working on King of the Hill revival Before he was fatally shot, Joss had been in Austin, located about 130 kilometres northeast of San Antonio, for events related to a sneak peek of the King of the Hill revival. On Saturday, Joss had posted a video on Instagram in which he said he was signing autographs at a comic book store in Austin. "The fans get to revisit King of the Hill again, which I think is an amazing thing because it's a great show," Joss said in the video, adding he had already done voice work on four episodes of the revival. De Gonzales said his husband was grateful for his fans.
