TV star mistook deadly disease for a hangover after SAS: Who Dares Wins wedding

'Jungle threat isn't always that you're getting chased by lions and big animals and spiders.'
REAL-life action man Aldo Kane admits Mother Nature was the least of his concerns in his new TV show – as he faced the wrath of his wife if he missed the birth of their second child.
The adventurer watched the delivery of son Atlas on WhatsApp while he was filming in waters off the Dominican Republic for Titanic director James Cameron's programme OceanXplorers in 2021.

But missus Anna made sure the former Royal Marine Commando, from Kilwinning, Ayrshire, made it home in time to meet their boy Auri last year - as he jetted back from Armenia in the nick of time.
Aldo, 46, said: 'Anna was like, 'You better get back in time for this one' after I missed Atlas being born four years ago.
'I got back from Armenia and the next day she gave birth. I think I'd been back 12 hours.
'I was at home for 12 days and then we bounced out to Mongolia for filming so it's been a full-on year.

'So I got back three weeks late for Atlas and I got back one night before for Auri. So I have a 50/50 hit rate at the minute, which is pretty good.'
He adds: 'Now we're just trying to recollect our thoughts and get our head around being a family of four.
'I guess everyone only sees the side on social media where you're adventuring and filming.
'But it takes its toll a little bit. You've got to come back and spend quality time with the family, reconnecting.'

Ex-sniper Aldo is fronting new series for Apple TV+ The Wild Ones as he joins wildlife and camera trap expert Declan Burley, and ecological storyteller and cinematographer Vianet Djenguet.
The trio embark on high-stakes expeditions to track and protect the planet's most endangered species.

They travelled to Malaysia, Mongolia, Armenia, Indonesia, Canada and Gabon to capture often first-ever footage of the Malayan tiger, Gobi bear, Caucasian leopard, Javan rhino, North Atlantic right whale and Western lowland gorilla.
Aldo has previously been an expert consultant on journeys where he's found secret caves hidden behind the Mexican jungle and gone white-water rafting in Bhutan.

While he even found dead cubs in a freezer during his investigation into the disgusting tiger trafficking trade in South East Asia.
But he's never been closer to losing his life than on The Wild Ones - as he contracted deadly malaria.
The daredevil couldn't believe it when he was diagnosed with the illness even though he had managed to avoid it for 30 years working in jungles.
Aldo started feeling unwell at the wedding of SAS: Who Dares Wins star Jason 'Foxy' Fox. He said: 'We'd been in the jungle for three weeks, got home, went to Foxy's wedding, and I started feeling rough.

'I was thinking it was a pretty bad hangover. And then it just got worse. By the following weekend, I was so bad that I got admitted to hospital with a pretty gruesome malaria bug.
'Malaria is life-threatening. I was just very lucky that the they were on the ball and picked it up quickly.
'That's the thing with working in the jungle, the threat isn't always that you're getting chased by lions and big animals and spiders.'
In his new series the crew used camera traps to track the endangered animals without getting too close.

And Aldo admits he got a real buzz when they sat down to review the footage and realised a tiger had followed the same route as them.
He said: 'It's nice as I'm going to be able to sit down with Atlas and watch and he can engage in it.
'I hope the series makes other people aware of these animals, but also to help them take action, because sometimes conservation can seem too disconnected.
'But really, as you'll see in the series, the people and animals need as much help as they can get.'
The Wild Ones airs globally from July 11 on AppleTV+

James Cameron struggling to write 'new Terminator film' over stark sci-fi fears

James Cameron has revealed that he is having a 'hard time' writing the new Terminator movie because of 'stark' real-world events. The iconic director is behind some of the biggest movies in history, including Avatar, Titanic, Aliens and the Terminator franchise. However, during an appearance on CNN, the 70-year-old explained that he is currently penning 'a new Terminator story', but found himself struggling when it comes to the technology aspect of the plot. 'I'm at a point right now where I have a hard time writing science fiction,' he declared. 'I'm tasked with writing a new Terminator story. I've been unable to get started on that very far, because I don't know what to say that won't get overtaken by real events. 'We are living in a science fiction age right now, and the only way out is through, by using our intelligence, by using our curiosity, by using our command of technology, but also by really understanding the stark probabilities that we face.' The Terminator first hit the screen in 1984, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular cyborg assassin, sent from the future to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), stopping her from giving birth to the man who would go on to save humankind. The film currently commands an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and has gone down as one of the best movies of all time. There were a further five movies in the franchise – Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, Terminator Genisys, and Terminator: Dark Fate. In 2022, James revealed that there had been 'discussions' about a possible seventh film, and suggested that the plot would focus less on the rogue robots. 'If I were to do another Terminator film and maybe try to launch that franchise again, which is in discussion, but nothing has been decided, I would make it much more about the AI side of it than bad robots gone crazy,' he announced on the Smartless podcast. He directed and co-wrote the first two instalments in the franchise, but took a back seat on the other movies before returning to co-write and produce 2019's Dark Fate. However, the flick – which saw the return of Arnie and Linda – bombed at the box office and didn't go down well with fans. Unpacking the reception in a candid interview with Deadline in 2022, the filmmaker said: 'I'm actually reasonably happy with the film. 'I think what happened is I think the movie could have survived having Linda in it, I think it could have survived having Arnold in it. More Trending 'But when you put Linda and Arnold in it and then, you know, she's 60-something, he's 70-something, all of a sudden it wasn't your Terminator movie, it wasn't even your dad's Terminator movie, it was your granddad's Terminator movie. 'And we didn't see that. We loved it, we thought it was cool, you know, that we were making this sort of direct sequel to a movie that came out in 1991. And young moviegoing audiences weren't born. They wouldn't even have been born for another 10 years. 'So, it was just our own myopia. We got a little high on our own supply, and I think that's the lesson there.' Got a story? Emmerdale's Vinny Dingle 'to report attacker to the police' - but it's not Mike

Emmerdale's latest episode saw Vinny Dingle preparing to contact the police after a beating from Mike, but it was teased someone else could be framed on the ITV soap One character faced being framed by Vinny Dingle in Emmerdale over a brutal attack. In sad scenes, Vinny had his fiancée Gabby Thomas believe someone else other than Mike had hurt him while he continued to lie about a theft from the night before. ‌ But as Vinny prepared to report the assault to the police during the latest episode, he broke down just moments after a confrontation with pal Kammy. It was Kammy that Gabby assumed had attacked Vinny, while she doesn't know just how badly Vinny was harmed having been kept in the dark about what's been going on lately. ‌ It comes as Mike's real identity was exposed as he beat up Vinny during Tuesday's episode, following weeks of Vinny questioning his sexuality ahead of his wedding to Gabby. Mike's real agenda also came to light as he used Vinny's torment against him in a blackmail twist. ‌ As fans know, Vinny has been questioning his sexuality ever since his near-kiss with pal Kammy. He's been left torn over whether he wants to be with Gabby despite his love for her, and he started speaking to Mike online who he thought was experiencing a similar situation to him. This is what Mike, actually Graham, had Vinny believe and this week we finally found out he was using it to blackmail him for his money. In violent scenes Mike beat Vinny on the ground before demanding £10,000. With that he fled the scene with Gabby and Vinny's wedding rings, and Vinny covered the whole thing up. Unfortunately for him Kammy sensed something was wrong and kept pushing, but he refused to confide in him. Instead, Vinny deliberately goaded Kammy into going for him cleary to get him to back off but also possibly to frame him for his bruises. The cruel twist saw Kammy shouted at by Gabby who later threatened him in the pub, refusing to listen to his version of events. ‌ Kammy later visited Vinny to ask what was going on, baffled by his behaviour. But Vinny screamed at him and refused to admit the truth, leading to Kammy telling him he needed to tell someone whatever was bothering him. In the end Kammy couldn't get through to him and left while Vinny seemed thoughtful, before a conversation with Gabby later on. We saw Vinny search for the number of the local police station on his phone, preparing to click call. But if Vinny does report the attack, could he be about to frame Kammy for the crime to cover up everything? Or might Vinny find the courage to tell the police and Gabby what went on with Mike.
