However, the couple had to face rumours of an impending divorce when the 'Dhol' actress resigned from her husband'
s charity foundation

Social Media Storm: The Resignation That Sparked Rumors
While their parenting aspirations have been unfolding in the background, the couple recently found themselves at the center of online speculation due to a cryptic social media post. Payal's announcement that she was stepping down from her role as director of the
Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation
, accompanied by the hashtag 'Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon', led to widespread speculation about potential trouble in their marriage.

Fans feared the worst—possibly even a divorce—but those concerns were soon quelled. Just a day later, on July 9, 2025, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary, sharing joyful moments that reaffirmed their bond.
Sangram Clarifies the Situation: No Rift, Just a Career Move
In his conversation with Zoom, Sangram finally addressed the buzz surrounding the resignation. He explained that Payal had chosen to exit her directorial role in order to dedicate more time and energy to her entrepreneurial pursuits. He described his wife as particular and strong-willed, someone who makes thoughtful professional decisions and often chooses to express herself publicly, especially through social media.
Sangram admitted that their temperaments differ significantly. While he tends to laugh off situations that others might find serious, Payal is more analytical and driven by standards of professionalism. He supported her decision, stating that it was entirely her choice and not indicative of any discord in their relationship. The resignation was simply a step toward Payal pursuing her startup dreams, and the social media post was consistent with her open style of communication.
Dismissing Divorce Talks: Commitment Over Impulse
Sangram also addressed the rising trend of couples walking away from relationships at the first sign of conflict. He advocated for patience, understanding, and emotional maturity, stressing that true strength lies not in quitting but in standing firm through trials.
He dismissed the idea of divorce, stating that relationships need endurance rather than impulsiveness. According to him, couples must allow space for their partners to be who they are—even if their personalities and preferences clash. He pointed out that Payal finds joy in documenting her life through videos and social media, and while he doesn't always relate to it, he respects it because it makes her happy.
For Sangram, love is not just about romance; it's about acceptance, compromise, and the willingness to journey through life together, despite differences.
Wrestling with Infertility and the Shift Toward Surrogacy
For years, Payal, now 46, has spoken with transparency and courage about her challenges with conception. Long before marrying Sangram, she underwent multiple rounds of
IVF
, only to be met with heartbreaking failures. Despite trying tirelessly for nearly five years, the couple could not achieve a successful pregnancy.
In the same interview, Sangram opened up about the couple's current decision to pursue surrogacy. He detailed how their long and painful path through medical treatments, emotional upheaval, and unfulfilled hopes has led them to consider an alternative route to parenthood. He emphasized that while surrogacy is often portrayed as an easy solution, it comes with its own complex emotional, medical, and legal intricacies.
Shedding Light on Biological Realities and Medical Choices
Sangram's conversation brought attention to a crucial issue that often goes unspoken — the biological constraints many women face with advancing age. He called for greater public awareness of egg freezing, a medical procedure that can preserve a woman's fertility potential and offer reproductive autonomy. He acknowledged that if they had known about such scientific possibilities earlier, their journey might have been very different.
But even with this awareness now in place, the path toward surrogacy hasn't been straightforward. Sangram expressed dismay over the lack of transparency and trustworthiness in the medical ecosystem. He admitted that despite fulfilling all the legal and personal criteria to pursue surrogacy, the couple continues to face obstacles, mainly due to unethical practices and unreliable healthcare providers.
He noted that while India boasts many skilled professionals, the system also includes individuals driven by profit rather than compassion. This, he said, has forced them to approach the process with extreme caution and ongoing diligence.
Parenthood as a Dream, Not a Pressure
In another conversation with News18 Showsha, Sangram shared that not having children has never been a cause of sorrow for the couple, but it's a dream they still hope to fulfill. He reflected on his own childhood experiences, growing up with eight stepbrothers, and how family—especially children—can bring a sense of completeness to life.
Despite their longing, he acknowledged that both he and Payal often still feel like children themselves, engaging in trivial disagreements and playful banter. For them, parenthood is not just a societal milestone but a heartfelt desire that they are patiently working toward, leaving the outcome to fate and divine timing. He fondly mentioned how kids in his village interact with him during training sessions and perform cartwheels, gestures that touch him deeply and reinforce his own yearning to nurture a child.

Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's ‘Saiyaara' becomes the 26th biggest hit of Hindi cinema, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Dunki' and Ajay Dvegn's ‘Singham Again'
Mohit Suri's Saiyaara achieves remarkable box office success. The film stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Saiyaara earns Rs 248.43 crore in ten days. It surpasses Dunki and Singham Again collections. The film's success is driven by strong storytelling and music. Saiyaara's performance is notable with debutant actors. The film is expected to enter the Top 25 Hindi films soon. In an industry where box office numbers often define a film's legacy, Mohit Suri 's Saiyaara has etched its name in the annals of Hindi cinema by becoming the 26th highest-grossing Hindi film ever. With an India net collection of Rs 248.43 crore in just 10 days, the film has outpaced major star-driven releases like Shah Rukh Khan 's Dunki (Rs 227 crore) and Ajay Devgn 's Singham Again (Rs 247.86 crore). Mohit Suri Spills On 20 Years In Bollywood - Ahaan & Aneet, Alia Bhatt Dream Collab & More Starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda , Saiyaara was initially viewed as a promising debut vehicle. But what followed was a box office phenomenon that not only defied expectations but also reaffirmed the power of storytelling and music-driven romance. Under the deft direction of Mohit Suri and backed by a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, Saiyaara struck a chord with audiences across metros and mass belts alike. Released with solid buzz, Saiyaara opened with an impressive Rs 21.5 crore on its first Friday. What truly stunned the trade was the film's phenomenal growth over the opening weekend — Rs 26 crore on Saturday and a massive Rs 35.75 crore on Sunday. With a Week 1 total of Rs 172.75 crore, the film had already entered blockbuster territory. What followed in its second weekend cemented its status as a bonafide hit. On Day 8 (2nd Friday), Saiyaara held steady with Rs 18 crore, followed by a major jump on Saturday to Rs 26.5 crore, and then an estimated Rs 31.18 crore on Sunday. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Arabian Sea Facing Apartments - Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai Lodha Bellevue Click Here Undo The 10-day total stood at a staggering Rs 248.43 crore, just enough to inch past Singham Again and Dunki, which had the backing of massive star power and franchise value. What makes Saiyaara's feat more remarkable is that it achieved this position with debutant actors in lead roles, something of this stature was seen about 25 years ago when Hrithik Roshan made his debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which had made about Rs 44 crore back in 2000. If inflation is adjusted it would made about Rs 200 crore now. Saiyaara has gone past some heavyweights like Dunki which boasted the return of Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan's post-Pathaan and Jawan outing, and Singham Again brought back the reliable Ajay Devgn–Rohit Shetty duo, Saiyaara relied purely on content, emotional depth, and soul-stirring music. This surge also places Saiyaara ahead of films like Drishyam 2 (Rs 239.67 Cr), The Kerala Story (Rs 239.05 Cr), and Krrish 3 (Rs 231.79 Cr), all of which were declared blockbusters or higher. Notably, it's also breathing down the neck of URI: The Surgical Strike (Rs 244.14 Cr), which was termed an 'All Time Blockbuster.' With the release of two films in Dhadak 2 and Son of Sardaar on 1st August and one can expect Saiyaara to lose some steam. But the film is fully capable of entering the Top 25 hits of the Hindi cinema by the end of the day.

‘Phone jammers, masked guards': Zohran Mamdani's lavish wedding in spotlight; three-day bash held under tight security
Image courtesy: AFP Zohran Mamdani , an Indian-origin mayoral candidate in New York, recently celebrated his wedding to artist and animator Rama Duwaji with a lavish three-day event at his family's expansive estate in Uganda. The festivities, held in the upscale Buziga Hill neighborhood near Kampala, were shrouded in secrecy and featured fortress-like security measures, including multiple security gates, armed guards in masks, and a phone-jamming device, as reported by the New York Post. Mamdani, 33, who was born in Uganda, eloped with 27-year-old Duwaji in February. He moved to New York at the age of seven and became a US citizen in 2018. The couple, who met on the dating app Hinge, now reside in a rent-stabilized apartment in Astoria. Zohran's father, Mahmood Mamdani, owns the property in one of Uganda's wealthiest areas, home to prominent figures like billionaire businessman Godfrey Kirumira. Inside the lavish wedding party The Mamdani estate was transformed into a vibrant party venue for the occasion, with music and Christmas lights adorning the garden's tree canopy. According to the report, upscale buses and luxury vehicles, including a Mercedes and a Range Rover, were seen arriving at the compound. The estate, situated on two acres of lush grounds with a sweeping view of Lake Victoria, is in a neighborhood where homes can easily sell for over $1 million. Zohran's affluent parents, Mira Nair and Mahmood Mamdani, also divide their time between this Ugandan property, New York, and New Delhi. Beefed-up security in place "Outside the Mamdani house were more than 20 special forces command unit guards, some in masks, and there was a phone-jamming system set up—all for the strictly invite-only Mamdani event... One gate had around nine guards stationed at it,' the report quoted a source as saying. The party reportedly concluded around midnight, with Mamdani addressing his guests later in the evening. After the festivities ended on Friday, military-style tents were dismantled, and security officers, believed to be Mamdani's personal guards, took over at the gates.
