"Will show real face of Pakistan to everyone": All party delegation member Ghulam Ali Khatana
Emphasising on the unity of political parties, Ghulam Ali Khatana said, 'When we go outside India, we are all Indians. When we are inside the country, we are separate political parties. We will talk about zero tolerance against terrorism and will show the real face of Pakistan to everyone.'
Ghulam Ali Khatana is part of the delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, which will visit the UK, France, Germany, the EU, Italy and Denmark.
Other members of the delegation include Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena-UBT), Amar Singh (Congress), Samik Bhattacharya (BJP), MJ Akbar, and Ambassador Pankaj Saran.
Earlier in the day, Priyanka Chaturvedi called for global accountability and a global alliance against terrorism while highlighting Pakistan's involvement in terror activities.
Speaking with ANI, Priyanka Chaturvedi said, 'There should be a zero tolerance against terrorism and there should also be global accountability and a global alliance against terrorism.'
Slamming Pakistan for being involved in the terror attack, she highlighted that terrorist groups like Al Qaida and Jaish-e-Mohammad originated from the country.
'All roots of terrorism are coming from Pakistan. Pakistan has become a global terror hub. It exports terrorists not just in our country but also in other countries. America or Europe should not forget that Al Qaida, Jaish-e-Mohammad and other terror groups are found there (Pakistan),' she said.
The seven multi-party delegations to various countries are tasked with projecting India's national consensus and firm stance on combating terrorism in all its forms. They are carrying India's strong message of zero tolerance against terrorism to the global community during their outreach. (ANI)

Karnataka: B.K. Hariprasad seeks Council resolution condemning ECI's actions
Congress leader B.K. Hariprasad on Tuesday urged the Karnataka Legislative Council to pass a resolution condemning the Election Commission of India's (ECI) actions, alleging misuse of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) technology and manipulation of voter lists. Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Mr. Hariprasad said reports had surfaced that ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, voters belonging to communities not supporting the BJP and its allies were being removed from the rolls. He demanded that the Council adopt a resolution against such practices and forward it to the Union government. Citing irregularities in the Maharashtra Assembly polls, Mr. Hariprasad pointed out that the ECI announced 58.22% voter turnout until 5 p.m., but the figure suddenly jumped to 66.05% by midnight. 'Where did the additional 48 lakh votes come from?' he asked, referring to discussions at a recent roundtable organised by the Eddelu Karnataka campaign. He alleged that the BJP-led alliance won 25 constituencies by margins of around 3,000 votes, 39 constituencies by around 5,000 votes, and 69 constituencies by about 10,000 votes. 'Compared to the Lok Sabha elections, the voter numbers during the Assembly elections showed unexplained increases, but the Election Commission gave no answers,' he said. Expressing concern that similar issues may arise during the Bihar polls, he pressed for a strong resolution from the Council. In the absence of the floor leader, Agriculture Minister N. Cheluvarayaswamy assured him that the issue would be brought to the notice of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

BJP walks out as Assembly adopts Bill to reduce buffer zones of smaller lakes
The Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Tuesday adopted the Karnataka Tank Conservation and Development Authority, which seeks to reduce the buffer zones for the smaller water bodies, amidst a walk out by the Opposition BJP members who wanted a House committee to be formed to look into the buffer zone of lakes in the city. Minor Irrigation Minister N.S. Boseraju, who piloted the Bill, explained that the buffer zones of water bodies, which are presently uniform irrespective of their size, would now be dependent on the lakes' size. While the buffer zones would be reduced for the smaller lakes, the same extent of buffer zone would be allowed for the bigger lakes, he noted. The Minister said this followed a report by the committee led by the Chief Secretary, as well as requests from MLAs from the coastal region who had petitioned him. The MLAs had expressed concern that the buffer zone regulations had particularly hit the people of the coastal region, as the extent of available land in this region was smaller. Once a city of lakes However, BJP member S. Suresh Kumar took exception to the proposal to reduce the buffer zone for lakes in Bengaluru. Saradha group owner Sudipta Sen, associate acquitted in 3 Ponzi scheme cases
Kolkata: A Kolkata court acquitted Saradha group owner Sudipta Sen and his associate Debjani Mukherjee on Tuesday in three Ponzi scheme cases citing lack of witnesses, lawyers aware of the court proceedings said. Tuesday's acquittal order was passed by the 11th judicial magistrate's court at Bichar Bhawan. (Representational image) 'Figuring among the 300-odd cases filed against Sen in and outside Bengal, these three were started by Kolkata's Hastings police station after his arrest in 2013 on the basis of complaints lodged by three investors,' a lawyer said, requesting anonymity. Tuesday's acquittal order was passed by the 11th judicial magistrate's court at Bichar Bhawan. 'The court observed that of the 50 witnesses named by the state, only 15 deposed during the hearings. As a result, the charges of cheating (Section 420 Indian Penal Code) and criminal breach of trust (Section 406) could not be proved by the prosecution,' the lawyer added. Lawyer Arindam Das, who is representing a few hundred affected investors of the Saradha, Rose Valley and other companies, said Sen's acquittal exposes inefficiency of the prosecution. 'With only 15 of the 50 witnesses appearing in court, the police clearly failed to do its job,' said Das. It is alleged that the Saradha Group raised more than ₹2,500 crore since the 1990s primarily from lower income group people by promising high returns. The West Bengal police arrested Sen and Mukherjee from Kashmir in 2013 when he went underground after the scam was exposed. Both are in judicial custody. The main probe against the Saradha group was started by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2014 following orders of the Supreme Court. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting a parallel investigation. Both agencies have filed chargesheets against several of the accused but their investigations are not yet over. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee alleged multiple times before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre is using the federal agencies for electoral gains. The BJP, however, lost six seats in the polls and its rally came down from 18 to 12 while Trinamool Congress secured 29 of Bengal's 42 seats. Some leaders from both parties are named as suspects by the CBI and ED. They include leader of the opposition in the Bengal assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, who left TMC and joined the BJP in December 2020. TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh is named by ED in a supplementary chargesheet.
