Filling up this 3km gap will give Noida its second road to Jewar
To that end, the Authority has decided to link its 130-metre wide road with Yamuna Authority's 120-metre wide road.
Once ready, the link road could ease pressure on Yamuna Expressway by rerouting traffic for Greater Noida, Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad through this stretch.

Currently, the 130-metre road runs from Char Murti Chowk in Greater Noida West to Sirsa village, covering nearly 30km. However, a 3km patch is incomplete to connect the 120-metre road of Yamuna Authority, which connects to Jewar.
The road sees heavy vehicular movement daily and with the expected rise in traffic — once the airport becomes operational — the authority is also undertaking widening work along this route.
On Monday, Greater Noida Authority's additional CEO Sumit Yadav, along with other officials from the project department, carried out a site inspection of the 130-metre road.
Yadav said, "Once the two roads are connected, it is expected to ease travel for residents of Greater Noida West, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad to the greenfield airport in Jewar.

The authority also plans to construct an underpass near Sirsa village to cross the Eastern Peripheral Expressway as part of the proposed connectivity."
The proposed connection between the two roads is crucial for establishing a direct, high-capacity link to the upcoming airport.
At present, the absence of a seamless corridor forces commuters to take longer, congested routes, particularly those travelling from Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad.
With the airport expected to become a major regional transit hub, this linkage will not only reduce travel time but also support planned urban and industrial expansion along the corridor.
Abhishek Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida West, said the population of Greater Noida West has increased to about 5 lakh. "It will be a good move if the two roads are connected to provide a seamless travel experience to the airport," he said.
The link road could not be developed earlier because Greater Noida Authority had not acquired land from farmers in the area.
An official said the surrounding region has gradually developed. "We completed the 30-km stretch, but a portion remained unfinished due to pending land acquisition. Now, with the Noida International Airport nearing completion, we will soon acquire the remaining land and complete the link road," the official added.
The road is strategically important as it lies near the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and connects key areas such as residential sectors Sigma III, IV, Omicron 1A, XU III and villages like Sirsa, Dadha and Khanpur. It also serves the nearby industrial zone of Ecotech 11.
Anand Bhati, a resident of Sirsa village, said the incomplete road has made navigation difficult. "Greater Noida Authority built the 130-metre road but stopped at Sirsa roundabout, just 500 m ahead of the EPE. Likewise, Yamuna Authority's 120-metre road ends in Rampur Majra village. The 3-km stretch in between remains unmotorable," he said.

Building a wealth creating mindset
To create wealth the first step is Building a wealth-creating mindset. How to create that mindset? Building a wealth-creating mindset involves cultivating habits, attitudes, and strategies that prioritise long-term financial growth. Here are practical steps to develop this mindset, tailored to be concise yet comprehensive: 1. Adopt a growth mindset: Believe wealth is achievable through learning and effort. Study successful investors like Warren Buffett or entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Mukesh Ambani to understand their decision-making. Read books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill or The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley to reframe your thinking. 2. Set clear financial goals: Define specific, measurable objectives, like saving Rs.1,000,000 in 10 years or generating Rs.50,000 in passive income annually. Break these into actionable steps, such as saving Rs.5000 monthly or investing 10% of your income. 3. Prioritise financial education: Learn about budgeting, investing, and debt management. Start with basics like compound interest and diversification. Use free resources like Investopedia, podcasts, or follow credible X accounts for tips. Given your past interest in saving versus investing, focus on understanding how disciplined saving fuels investment opportunities. If you are investing in Equities for the first time in your family, ensure that they understand standard deviation of equity investing! 4. Embrace delayed gratification: Shift from short-term spending to long-term gains. For example, instead of buying a Rs.10,000 gadget, invest that money in a low-cost index fund. Historically, the Index averages 12-15% annual returns! 5. Build multiple income streams: Relying solely on a salary limits wealth. Explore side hustles, real estate, or dividend-paying stocks. For instance, renting out a property can generate steady cash flow, as seen in markets like Bengaluru, where rental yields average 3-5%. However, understand that risks are hidden in all wealth creating transactions. 6. Manage risk wisely: Wealth creation involves calculated risks. Diversify investments across stocks, bonds, and real estate to mitigate losses. Avoid get-rich-quick schemes; scams cost Americans Rs.3.7 billion in 2022, per the FTC. There is no such figure available for India. 7. Surround yourself with like-minded people: Join financial discussion groups on X or local investment clubs. Engaging with others who share wealth-building goals, as you've shown interest in topics like retirement planning, reinforces discipline. 8. Track and optimise spending: Use apps or simple excel sheets to monitor expenses. Cut unnecessary costs, which can save Rs.20,000-Rs.30,000 annually for reinvestment. 9. Stay disciplined and patient: Wealth builds over time. Automate savings and investments to avoid emotional decisions. For example, setting up a monthly SIP in a mutual fund ensures consistency. You also won't need to think about investing every month. This reduces fatigue. 10. Cultivate resilience: Market downturns or setbacks are inevitable. Learn from mistakes, like over-leveraging in stocks, and adjust strategies. The 2008 financial crisis showed that long-term investors who stayed the course recovered losses by 2013. Reflecting on your interest in saving and retirement planning, a wealth-creating mindset starts with valuing small, consistent actions—like maximizing retirement contributions—while balancing cultural or family obligations.

Six-hour delay of SpiceJet's Pune-Jaipur flight frustrates passengers
(Pics mailed) Pune: More than six-hour delay and lack of updates from the airline's ground staff left close to 100 Jaipur-bound flyers of a SpiceJet flight frustrated on Thursday evening. The flight (SG-1080) was scheduled to take off from Pune at 7.30pm and land in Jaipur at 9.50pm. It finally departed at 1.40am on Friday. We got another message around 4.30pm on Thursday, stating that it would fly at 9.30 pm. By then, I was on my way to the airport," a Nigdi resident booked on the flight said. She came to know during the check-in that her plane would fly at 12.30am. "The airline's employees did not give specific reasons. Some passengers had checked out of their hotels but ended up waiting at the airport for hours. Many flyers got angry and had arguments with the ground staffers," the passenger said. A video surfaced in which passengers accused the ground staff of spreading misinformation. There was haze on the status of the inbound plane from Goa, too. "We were told that the flight had taken off from Goa quite some time back, but when we checked, we found out it had taken off just 10 minutes ago. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo It seems that we made a mistake by choosing the airline for travel," another passenger said. A SpiceJet spokesperson told TOI, "The claim that passengers were informed about the revised departure time only after reaching the airport is factually incorrect. All passengers were duly informed of the schedule change well in advance via email and SMS at 2.30pm. The flight departed as per its revised timing. Additionally, dinner was served to all passengers at the airport.
