Suspended RAC constable held in '21 SI exam leak case

Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Thursday arrested a 43-year-old suspended constable of the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC). He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest in connection with the 2021 Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam paper leak case.
ADG (SOG) VK Singh said the accused, identified as Shiv Singh, a resident of Sikar district and formerly posted with the 10th Battalion RAC in Bikaner, was absconding since his name surfaced in the paper leak conspiracy.
According to the SOG, Shiv conspired with co-accused Sandeep Kumar Lata to procure and distribute leaked question papers in exchange for money. The duo allegedly helped two candidates—Surendra Kumar Bagdiya and Ravindra Singh—gain access to the leaked material ahead of the examination.
Investigators said that Lata handed over the leaked question papers and answer keys to Ravindra Singh at his residence in Udaipur.
Ravindra then passed the materials to Surendra Bagdiya, who later secured the third position in the final SI trainee merit list. Once sufficient evidence was collected against the accused, he went underground.
An arrest warrant was issued against him by a Jaipur court in September last year. Subsequently, the SOG announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Cab Driver Who Held Family "Hostage" To Outrun Noida Cops Arrested
A cab driver has been arrested after he held a family "hostage" during their ride as Noida Police chased the speeding car for deliberately jumping barricades, officials said on Saturday. PCR sirens blaring in the background, a four-year-old frightened girl crying and her parents pleading the driver to stop the vehicle -- showed a video of the nerve-racking incident recorded by the family. Noida Phase 3 Police said the accused has been arrested and two Aadhaar cards were found from his possession -- one in the name of 'Nasim' and another 'Sonu'. On Thursday at around 1:30 pm, Sanjay Mohan booked a cab for Delhi's Connaught Place from his home in Greater Noida. Mohan, his wife and their four-year-old daughter sat in the cab and started their ride. However, at Parthala bridge in Noida, police signaled the driver to stop but he sped off, jumping the barricades, the police said. Stunned by the driver's sudden move, the couple requested him to stop the car and drop them off. However, he ignored and began driving rashly for several kilometers to escape the PCR van chasing him, they said. The couple kept pleading and when the driver managed to outrun the police team, he stopped the vehicle for barely a few seconds at TP Nagar. As soon as the family got down, he fled, they said. The entire incident was recorded by the family. It surfaced on social media on Friday, prompting officials to identify and nab the accused, the police said. Central Noida DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthy said, "A viral video of rash driving of a cab driver went viral on August 14. Police registered a case against him at Phase 3 Police Station and later the driver identified as Nasim was arrested from Sahara cut." "The Wagon R has been seized and a challan of Rs 29,500 was issued," he said. According to Mohan, his wife suffered minor injuries in her hand. A case has been registered against the accused under BNS sections 137 (2) (kidnapping), 127 (2) (wrongful confinement), 281 (rash driving), 319 (cheating by personation, 318 (4) (cheating), 336 (2) (forgery), 338 (forgery of valuable security) and others at Phase 3 Police Station, they said. ‘Ordered milk, lost Rs 18.5 lakh': Mumbai woman duped in online scam; clicking link exposed bank accounts

The woman, who lives in Wadala, was duped of her entire savings earlier this month. On August 4, she received a call from a man who introduced himself as Deepak, an executive from a milk company. He sent her a link and asked her to fill in her details to place the order. Police said she was told to stay on the call and follow his instructions. The conversation lasted over an hour before she hung up. The next day, the same caller contacted her again and extracted more details. Days later, during a routine visit to her bank, the woman discovered that Rs 1.7 lakh had been withdrawn from one account. Further checks revealed that her two other accounts had also been emptied, amounting to a total loss of Rs 18.5 lakh. Investigators said the fraudster gained access to her phone after she clicked on the link. A case has been registered and the probe is underway.
