'Housefull 5' box office collection day 6 (LIVE): The multi-starrer movie has a decent beginning on Wednesday after crossing Rs 110 crore

Time of Indiaa day ago

After 'Housefull 5' had a good opening day number along with jump over the weekend, all eyes were on the weekday numbers which would play a crucial role in determining the film's fate.
But it has managed to hold decently well on Monday and Tuesday. Of course, while a dip on Monday was expected, the film will manage to sail through if it manages to stick to a double digit number this whole week. Plus, there's also some growth expected on the second weekend.
The film had an opening of Rs 24 crore on Day 1. On Saturday and Sunday, it minted Rs 31 crore and Rs 32.5 crore respectively. On Monday though, it saw a dip of around 60 percent, making Rs 13 crore.
On Tursday, which is day 5, it again saw a drop but atleast remained in the two digit numbers. The early trend of Wednesday also looks similar to Tuesday. On Day 6, till the morning and afternoon shows, it has made Rs 2.35 crore. The total collection so far, in India, according to Sacnilk is Rs 114.1 crore.
It should be able to make minimum Rs 10 crore on day 6 and remain the same on Thursday and Friday as well. The film being a multistarrer and shot on a cruise with some exquisite production values is mounted on a huge budget of over Rs 225 crore. Thus, it's very important for the movie to continue to hold up well. It was expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in four days which it has managed to do very well. The collection and trend for the film is much better than

's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is releasing on June 20 and that may serve some competition to it. The number of screens for 'Housefull 2' may also reduce, which may lead to a dip in the numbers. But till then, the film has an open window to continue to perform well at the box office. However, the trade feels that had this one been a family entertainer, just like its previous parts, it would have done even better in some sectors. This time around, it has a bit of an adult comedy with an element of a thriller.

Donald Trump met with cheers and boos at ‘Les Misérables' debut amid Kennedy Center boycott & control row

President Donald Trump faced a mixed reception of cheers and boos as he attended the opening night of Les Misérables at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday, a visit marked by political overtones, a reported cast boycott, and rising tensions over his takeover of the iconic arts institution. When asked on the red carpet about the Kennedy Center performers who planned to walk out rather than perform in his presence, Trump dismissed the question sharply: 'I couldn't care less! Honestly, I couldn't. All I do is run the country well,' he said, before listing off what he described as his accomplishments. Melania Trump accompanied him at the event. CNN reported that about a dozen cast members were given the option to sit out the show and planned to do so, underscoring the ongoing friction between Trump and the arts community. The discord follows Trump's February move to install himself as chairman of the Kennedy Center, purge its board, and replace key figures with loyalists. He has also vowed to eliminate what he calls 'woke' programming, including events featuring drag performers. The performance of Les Misérables, a show centred on revolution and resistance to authoritarian rule seemed to mirror political divisions outside the theatre. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it better to shower in the morning or at night? Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance joined the Trumps at the show, days after the president deployed troops to quell immigration-related protests in Los Angeles. 'We're going to have a safe country... Remember, if I wasn't there... Los Angeles would have been burning to the ground,' Trump said. Critics including California Governor Gavin Newsom slammed Trump's actions as 'dictatorial.' On social media platform X, Newsom reacted to Trump's musical appearance with the jab: 'Someone explain the plot to him.' Despite the controversy, Trump claimed to be a longtime fan of Les Misérables. 'I love the songs, I love the play,' he said in an interview last week. When asked which character he identified with, he deferred to Melania: 'That's a tough one... you better answer that one, honey.' Trump's control of the Kennedy Center has already sparked resignations from prominent figures like Shonda Rhimes and Ben Folds. The musical Hamilton canceled its run at the venue in protest, which Trump dismissed by saying he had 'never liked' the rap-based show. His influence has extended beyond the Kennedy Center to other cultural institutions like the Smithsonian and universities, in what critics see as a broad campaign to reshape American arts and education around conservative values.

‘Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar work on an 8-hour shift too,' says Kabir Khan defending Deepika Padukone amid Spirit controversy

Deepika Padukone's reported feud with Sandeep Reddy Vanga over her demand for an 8-hour workday made headlines recently. Since then, several people from the film industry have come out in support of the actor. Now, director Kabir Khan, who is also a friend of Deepika, has defended her. He also revealed that even male actors, including Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, work on an 8-hour shift. In an interview with Movified, Kabir spoke about the need for proper working hours in the film industry, citing mental health and better efficiency. 'I work with 500 crew members who each have families and their own lives. Their well‑being matters, not just for efficiency, but for their mental health,' he said. While defending Deepika's demands, Kabir added, 'It's a fair point. Aamir Khan works on an 8‑hour shift. Akshay Kumar too. So I don't see why Deepika should be denied the same. If a filmmaker doesn't agree, they should have a valid reason. It's that simple.' According to him, work should have a structure. Kabir revealed that he himself has never shot more than 12 hours, never worked overtime, and never worked on Sundays. 'These are basic rules,' he asserted. When asked about Deepika Padukone's reported fee demand of Rs 25 crore, Kabir Khan said that remuneration should align with audience appeal and box office draw, noting that she attracts huge crowds to theatres. 'Whoever brings in the viewers, whether an actor, director, man or woman… they deserve to be paid what they're worth,' he said. On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. She has Atlee and Allu Arjun's next AA22 X A6 in her kitty. The announcement video hinted that she will play the role of a warrior princess in the film.

Aur jab apki shaadi toot ti hain aur aap divorce pe jaate ho toh woh logon ko pasand nahi hain. Woh baat main bhi jaanta hu, aur maanta hu ki shaadi ko lightly nahi le sakte. Isiliye uss cheez ko sachhai ke saath rakhna chahiye mujhe (In Hindustan we treat marriage very seriously. When one's marriage falls apart and there's a divorce, people do not like that. That I fully know, which is why we can't take it lightly. So I wish to keep it truthful.' He went on to add, 'Ki meri jo shaadi hain Reena ke saath, hum ab shaadi-shuda nahi reh sakte. Ya Kiran ke saath hum ab shaadi-shuda nahi reh sakte. Toh ye hum sab ke liye loss hi hain, humare parivar ke liye bhi ye ek cheez hain jisse hum khush nahi hain. Hum khushi-khushi ye cheez nahi kar rahe. Lekin kuch circumstances aise aaye ki laga ki humare circumstances badal gaye hain. Meri thinking ye hain ki yaa toh main duniya ko jhooth bol sakta hoon. Aur pretend kar sakta hoon ki Kiran aur main bohot khush hain saath main. Aur zindagi bhar hum shadi-shuda reh sakte hain… lekin woh jhooth hoga (That I cannot stay married with Reena or Kiran. It is a loss for us, our whole family, we are not doing this happily. There are certain circumstances that have led us to take this step. I think that either one can pretend and lie to the whole world that Kiran and I are very happy. But that will be a lie).' From his first marriage to Reena, Aamir has two children, Junaid and Ira. The actor and his second wife, director Kiran Rao, married in 2005 and separated in 2021. They continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
