As well as voicing Smurfette in the new family adventure comedy, Rih has also recorded new music for the project.
On Thursday, the first trailer for Smurfs debuted online, with the Love On The Brain singer going big on pushing the project on her social media channels.
And when the teaser began doing the rounds on social media, there was one aspect that got people particularly excited…

The trailer already teases one new recording from the Grammy-winning star, who appears to have covered the Belinda Carlisle classic Heaven Is A Place On Earth for the accompanying soundtrack.
In the years since her 2016 album Anti was released, Rihanna has released only a handful of new songs, instead focussing her attention on her Fenty lines of beauty and lingerie.
A year after Anti came out, she collaborated with N.E.R.D. on their song Lemon, and released the hit Wild Thoughts with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.
More recently, she worked with PartyNextDoor on the 2020 single Believe It, and contributed the Oscar-nominated ballad Lift Me Up to the soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022.
In 2023, Rihanna headlined the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, which led to rumours that she could be about to head out on tour.
However, she later insisted that this would not be the case until she had 'new music' and… well… we're still waiting.
Smurfs is due to hit cinemas in July, boasting an all-star cast that also includes Hannah Waddingham, Oscar winner Octavia Spencer, Natasha Lyonne, James Corden, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris and Nick Offerman.
The iconic blue characters last hit the big screen over a decade ago, when Rihanna's friend and fellow popstar Katy Perry lent her voice to Smurfette.

The U.S. and Israel pulled their negotiators from Qatar last month, saying Hamas demonstrated a "lack of desire to reach a ceasefire in Gaza" and were likely not negotiating in good faith. Said Trump: "We will only see the return of the remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed!!!" VIDEO: Thousands of anti-Israel demonstrators flooded midtown Manhattan last week afternoon, calling for a "global intifada," a slogan many view as an incitement to violence against Jewish communities. The Stand with Gaza protesters, carrying signs seeking to "end all aid to Israel," clanged cowbells while chanting "free, free Palestine" and "Palestine will live forever." WATCH HERE: WHO IS COMING TO AMERICA?: Federal officials are now being instructed to vet immigrants looking to legally live and work in the U.S. for "anti-American," terrorist, or antisemitic views under new guidance. Kevin Costner Fires Back at ‘Patently False' Allegation Over ‘Horizon 2' Rape Scene: ‘An Absolute Nightmare'

Kevin Costner has fired back at a lawsuit from a 'Horizon 2' stunt performer who claims that she was forced to perform an unscripted rape scene in violation of union protocols. In a motion to throw out the lawsuit filed Tuesday, Costner said the allegations are 'patently false' and 'deeply disappointing' and were designed to damage his reputation. More from Variety 'Horizon 2' Intimacy Coordinator Documented Rape Scene Complaint: 'Protocols Were Abandoned' Kevin Costner Sued by Stunt Performer Over Unscripted 'Horizon 2' Rape Scene Kevin Costner Premieres 'Horizon: Chapter 2' in Santa Barbara, But There's No News on Next Two Installments 'I can only assume that purpose was to use this sensationalistic language to embarrass and damage me and the 'Horizon' movies on an ongoing basis in order to gain a massive and unjustified payday,' Costner said in a court declaration. 'Equally as bad, having to read about and address allegations I know to be false involving the words 'rape' and 'assault' has been an absolute nightmare.' Devyn LaBella sued Costner in May for sexual harassment and for creating a hostile work environment. She alleged that Costner improvised a scene in which an actor straddled her and raked up her skirt in an aggressive manner. The intimacy coordinator on the film later documented lapses in protocols during the scene, including a lack of planning, communication and the lack of a closed set. In response, Costner stated that it was not a 'rape scene,' and that while rape was implied, there was no nudity or simulated sex. 'This was one artistic shot designed to imply what was going to happen off-screen, and purposely was not a 'simulated rape' as Devyn now falsely describes it,' he stated. Costner and his company are seeking to throw out the suit under California's anti-SLAPP law, which is designed to protect free speech on matters of public concern. Marty Singer, Costner's attorney, wrote in the motion that 'Horizon 2' — which has yet to be released — addresses 'the horrific struggles endured by women' in the American West in the post-Civil War era, 'including their extreme vulnerability to rape and other forms of violence,' and that therefore it qualifies for protection under the anti-SLAPP law. In an anti-SLAPP motion, the losing side has the right to appeal immediately, which will likely delay the case for a year or more regardless of the outcome at the trial court. The motion includes declaration from many crew members who maintain that the shot was not out of the ordinary. Roger Ivens, the other performer in the scene, stated that LaBella offered a 'false and sensationalist' description of the scene in her lawsuit, in which she characterized it as depicting a violent rape. 'It is not what happened,' Ivens stated. 'This was not in any way, shape, or form a simulated sex scene.' Wade Allen, the stunt coordinator who hired and supervised LaBella, also stated that the scene involved 'no intimacy, no nudity, no sexual conduct or sexual movement of any kind.' He also stated that LaBella gave him a thumbs up before and after the run-through, and seemed upbeat and enthusiastic about the experience. 'At no point that day did she evidence any distress or discomfort, or any concern about what she had been asked to do,' Allen stated. In response to the filing, LaBella's lawyer, James Vagnini, said that LaBella's professional demeanor does not undermine her allegations, and noted that her claims have been corroborated by the intimacy coordinator and other witnesses and text messages. 'This filing is continued evidence that one of Hollywood's most powerful men is trying to skirt accountability for reckless and harmful behavior,' Vagnini said. 'This baseless motion is nothing but a desperate delay tactic from a panicked legal team with no real defense. The only things damaging Kevin Costner's reputation are his own reckless, harmful behavior and the offensive narrative he's spreading to cover it up.' Roy Wood Jr. Predicts Stephen Colbert Will Become Leading Anti-Trump Voice On YouTube Next Year

'God bless whatever Stephen Colbert does next year with no network person to give him notes.' That was the verdict of Roy Wood Jr., the host of CNN's Have I Got News For You, when considering how the soon-to-depart CBS late night presenter could use platforms like YouTube to make his anti-Trump voice heard extremely loudly soon. More from Deadline Trump White House Joins TikTok As Ban Deadline Looms; "I Am Your Voice," POTUS Tells Followers Paramount UK Chief Ben Frow Says Channel 5 Won't Be Sold After Skydance Merger Shonda Rhimes On Paramount & Disney Bowing To Trump: "It Feels There's Self-Censoring Going On" 'When he's running rampant on YouTube like Don Lemon that will create a bigger issue for this administration in 2026 if he builds an audience,' added Wood Jr. 'It will be a very different landscape if he continues to run off [after leaving CBS]. If [the Trump administration] were smart they would leave us alone and let us tell our jokes.' Wood Jr. was speaking in the wake of Colbert's show being canceled, with the presenter set to exit next May. Paramount has reiterated repeatedly that the move is a financial one but many consider it to be influenced by Trump, and the POTUS has loudly celebrated the decision. This has all taken place as the Paramount-Skydance merger has gone through and after Paramount settled with Trump over a questionable lawsuit targeting 60 Minutes. Wood Jr. said CNN is holding firm amid Trump's push against the media. One of the ways in which it is doing this, he added, is by having Conservative voices speak on the network. NBC, meanwhile, invited Fox Conservative commentator Greg Gutfeld onto the Jimmy Fallon show recently. 'This would be like if Piers Morgan went on Graham Norton,' joked Wood Jr., flagging a British example to the audience at Edinburgh. In this way, Wood Jr. said traditional networks can try and regain some audience trust in the mainstream media, Sadly, however, he went on to discuss how American journalists are not willing to sacrifice their jobs in order to make a political point. 'I don't know if there are enough American journalists who care enough about the totality of our society to sacrifice their career,' he added. 'Because then the question becomes, 'How many journalists can you fire until you find a compliant one?'.' Wood Jr. was speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival on the same day as the likes of Shonda Rhimes and MacTaggart lecturer James Harding.
