Buccaneers Veteran Tipped To Be 2025 X-Factor

Buccaneers Veteran Tipped To Be 2025 X-Factor originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense last season was seen as one of the best and most versatile in football...and that was without Chris Godwin after Week 7.

With Mike Evans, Jalen McMillan, Cade Otton, Bucky Irving, Rachaad White, and Sean Tucker, the Buccaneers were able to put up points for fun en route to another division title and playoff appearance.
But now we add Pro Bowler Godwin to the mix, and Tampa Bay's offense has an extra level of spice that not many other teams possess.
As such, Pro Football Focus has named Godwin as Tampa Bay's X-Factor for 2025.
"Godwin was potentially on his way to his best NFL season before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 7 against Baltimore," Pro Football Focus writes. "His 85.7 PFF receiving grade was the second best of his career. Still just 29 years old with eight excellent seasons under his belt, Godwin has a chance to add even more firepower to an offense that surged down the stretch toward another NFC South title."
Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports
Given the nature of Godwin's injury, it isn't known if he will be ready for Week 1, and with the first-round selection of Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay doesn't have to rush Godwin back.

But when he does return, defenses will have to keep an eye on a host of weapons that can turn the game in an instant.
Baker Mayfield will be tasked with getting the most out of this extremely talented and versatile group, with Godwin, perhaps the one who can ignite this high-octane offense under Josh Grizzard.

Robert Griffin III Makes Stance Clear on Shedeur Sanders After Browns Practice

Robert Griffin III Makes Stance Clear on Shedeur Sanders After Browns Practice originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Browns enter 2025 with the weight of a disappointing 3-14 campaign still fresh, and their quarterback room remains the most scrutinized position on the roster. Advertisement As the Browns prepare for OTAs, they have gambled on competition among veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, the latter of whom has been the subject of heavy debate since the NFL draft. On Wednesday, another former NFL quarterback, Robert Griffin III, took to X to share his thoughts after reviewing film of Sanders with the Browns. "When you watch all the clips of Shedeur Sanders, you see why his tape said he was a 1st Round QB. He plays with NFL timing and rhythm, reads with his feet, plays ahead of the defense, has more than enough arm strength and he knows how to layer the ball. 🔥," Griffin posted. Son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur starred first at Jackson State (2021-22) before following his father to Colorado (2023-24). Advertisement At Jackson State, he combined for 6,963 passing yards and 70 touchdowns with a 70.6% completion rate as a sophomore, winning the Jerry Rice Award, Deacon Jones Trophy and SWAC Freshman/Offensive Player of the Year honors. Over two seasons with the Buffaloes, he posted 7,364 yards, 64 TDs, and a career-high passer rating of 168.2 as a senior, earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award after leading Colorado to a 9-4 record and an Alamo Bowl appearance. Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders (12).Ken Blaze-Imagn Images Despite elite arm strength, timing and rhythm, as noted by Griffin, bittersweet circumstances (off-field scrutiny, mixed pre-draft interviews) led to a shocking fall to Round 5 of the 2025 NFL Draft. On Saturday, Sanders shared a montage of images from the week's practices on his Instagram account, without any accompanying caption. The post showcases Sanders in various drills, working alongside his fellow Browns coaches and teammates. Fans online were quick to react to the post. "QB1 BTW for the haters," said one user. As a freshman in 2021, he passed for 3,231 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning the Jerry Rice Award as the top FCS freshman. He followed with a sophomore season that saw him throw for 3,752 yards and 40 scores, claiming the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and the Deacon Jones Trophy as the nation's premier HBCU player. Advertisement A transfer to Colorado in 2023 saw Sanders shatter school records, including a 510-yard passing day against TCU and in 2024, he put up 4,134 passing yards with 37 touchdowns, earning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The Browns, meanwhile, enter 2025 looking to rebound from a challenging 2024 season that saw the team finish 3-14, enduring its worst record since 2017. Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce

Wedding Guest Details 'Surreal' Taylor Swift Moment With Chiefs' Travis Kelce originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift appear to be stepping up their public appearances of late. First, they were seen out at dinner in Palm Beach, Florida, and a couple of days later, they were "spotted" again, but this one is a little different. Photos have now been emerging online of Kelce and Swift attending the wedding of Travis' cousin in Tennessee, with the pair posing for photos with several guests. And one of those guests was Cheyenne Rust, who posted on her Instagram of the surreal experience of having the Grammy winner at the wedding. "I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. Still can't believe we met Taylor while celebrating the Corums! She was as kind, down-to-earth, and lovely as you'd hope. What a surreal, sparkly moment I'll never forget," she posted via A video also shows Travis and Swift dancing in their seats as the bride and groom go through what looks to be their first dance as a married couple. So the pair is clearly enjoying their time together before the NFL season starts. With Travis and Swift dating for over two years, some are wondering what is next for the pair in their relationship. They were reported to be house hunting a couple of months ago; others think that they might move in together or even get married. But right now, they seem to be enjoying each other's company before the NFL season begins and Kelce starts what could be his final year.
