Steve's Lava Chicken song hits the US's Billboard Hot 100 chart
Not only has the song made it into the chart it is also the shortest song to ever be in Billboard's Hot 100, at just 34 seconds long. It's debuted on the chart at number 78. A great achievement for the movie and for star Jack Black who co-wrote the song with the film's director Jared Hess. Interestingly enough, this isn't even the first chart the song has made it onto.Earlier this month, the song debuted at No. 21 on the UK's official chart.

I visited Coney Beach for the first time and left feeling sad
I visited Coney Beach for the first time and left feeling sad I had never visited the amusement park that has been on everyone's lips so I thought I should see what the fuss was about I visited the fairground before it closes for the last time this summer (Image: John Myers) With the sudden news that Coney Beach in Porthcawl will be closing by the end of this summer I wanted to see for myself why everybody seemed to be so upset about its closure so I went down for the first time to check it out. Living in Cardiff the nearest fairground and beach to me is Barry Island which was easily accessible by bus or train so we never ventured quite as far as Porthcawl. I discovered when planning my trip that I would need to get a train and two buses to get there, making it a long journey. My visit took place before this week's derailment on the Wacky Worm ride, which saw 13 children and an adult injured on Wednesday and saw the park close, until it reopened on Friday. That came after last month's shock announcement that the amusement park will be closing for good in October after 100 years of being open. The Welsh Government purchased part of the land in the area for a mixed-use redevelopment including housing, retail businesses and a school. Unfortunately this sign is no longer true (Image: John Myers) Knowing that the amusement park has been around for over 100 years, I wasn't expecting everything to be shiny and new so I was not surprised when the rides were slightly outdated and needed a lick of paint. However, personally I think it adds to the nostalgia of the park. Article continues below The fairground at Coney Beach had everything you would expect with plenty of rides for all ages, carnival games, food stalls and an arcade with a plethora of games to spend way too much money trying to win a toy worth much less. Stay informed on Bridgend news by signing up to our newsletter here There are plenty of stalls with classic funfair games (Image: John Myers) Of course amusement parks such as Coney Beach are targeted towards children, teens and families but I still had fun as someone in their 20's. One thing I thought was missing was a big ride, they had your classic tea cups, bumper cars and the sticky wall but they didn't have a large, impressive ride that would make it different from ones across the country. I tried some of the rides but many were ones I've already been on at other fairgrounds (Image: John Myers) However, one thing that was a standout was the famous warm doughnuts sold at the American Donuts hut that has people queuing. Steve began working at the doughnut stand in 1967. Now at 75-years-old he will be finally retiring as Coney Beach closes after this summer is over. Venturing onto the promenade I was pleasantly surprised at the different shops and food stalls there are along the seafront. The smaller independent shops like the cockle stand and surf shop made me feel like I was walking along a seaside town where everyone was so friendly and willing to chat. I was shocked by how busy both the fairground and promenade became in the afternoon as the sun still shone in the sky, beating down on the sand and blue waters. Kids laughing and shouting in excitement at all the fun things to do there really brought me back to my childhood when I would save up all my 2p coins to play on the machines. However, it also made me think about the park closing down and no longer being able to provide those memories for children to come. Speaking to the local people there and the stall owners, watching the children play and families laughing I felt the sadness lying beneath as soon it will all be gone. Article continues below I visited Coney Beach for the first time and if I'm not quick it could be my last, which now I realise is such a shame but I am glad to have experienced it.

Lil Yachty apologizes to Stephen Jackson over George Floyd lyric
"Put my knee up on her neck, I went George Floyd," Yachty rapped on the song, per Billboard. Jackson condemned the "One Night" rapper in a now-deleted Instagram post, calling the lyric "demeaning" and writing, "Don't ever say his name, bro. None of y'all knew G. Nothing about him." The San Antonio Spurs alum has long been open about the loss of his friend Floyd, revealing in 2020 that the pair grew up in the same Houston, Texas neighborhood. USA TODAY has reached out to Lil Yachty's representatives for comment. Jackson says Yachty apologized for distasteful lyric In an Aug. 14 Instagram story, the "All the Smoke" podcast host later revealed that he is no longer upset with Yachty after the musician reached out and apologized. "I took my post down about Yachty because I'm emotional about George. I apologized to him. We spoke and he apologized as well," Jackson said. "I salute him. Not a lot of people like to own up to when they [expletive] up." Jackson added that he agreed a public apology was unnecessary after the two worked things out, and as Yachty understands the frustration caused by the lyrics. He added that he never had an issue with Yachty directly, but rather the idea of it being okay for people to demean the dead. He later added in an Aug. 15 Instagram post that he won't be discussing the situation in interviews, adding that "he's a smart young man" and "We move on from it."

Sean Kingston sentenced to over 3 years in prison after $1,000,000 fraud scheme
Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years behind bars after being found guilty in a $1,000,000 felony wire fraud case. The Beautiful Girls singer and his mother, Janice Turner, were arrested last May after being accused of defrauding businesses. In March, they were convicted of all five charges – including four counts of wire fraud, and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. According to Billboard, the 35-year-old, real name Kisean Paul Anderson, was sentenced to 42 months in prison and three years probation at a hearing earlier today. He had reportedly pleaded with Judge David S Leibowitz for a house arrest term and cited his charitable contributions. Before the sentencing, AP reports that he apologized to the court and vowed that he had learned from his actions. Kingston's lawyers had asked whether he could self-surrender at a later date, but was taken into custody immediately after the judge refused. The news comes after Turner was sentenced to five years in prison last month – they now face restitution hearings which are slated for October. The pair were accused of defrauding businesses in a $1million wire fraud scheme, involving jewelry, luxury vehicles, and other goods – which resulted in the Eenie Meenie musician's home being raided. In court documents obtained via AP, it was alleged that the Fire Burning star used social media to purchase high-end goods between April 2023 and March 2024. It was claimed that he would negotiate deals by inviting the sellers to his home in Florida, promising to feature the products on his social media pages. Prosecutors said that Kingston or his mom would text them fake receipts when it was time to pay for the products – which reportedly included a 19ft TV, a bulletproof Escalade and watches. However, victims were either never paid, or had to go through the legal route to get their money. In a lawsuit, Ver Ver Entertainment alleged that Kingston contacted them in September 2023 about purchasing a huge TV and having it installed. They claimed that there was 'basically a script' in which he would 'lure people in' through his connection to other stars, including Justin Bieber. More Trending '[Kingston] puts on a big show here, this is a rental house, he doesn't own it, and he lures people using his celebrity into having them release things without him paying for it and then he simply never pays,' they claimed. Last May, attorney Dennis Card accused him of defrauding the Florida company that installed his TV, telling AP: 'It is amazing what you can get away with if you are a celebrity. 'He creates this larger than life, 'I am rich' persona. His mother is a necessary component in this. View More » 'He presents himself as a family-oriented guy, 'I'm taking care of my mom,' but she knows full well what is going on.' Got a story?
