Retired Army captain killed after being hit, dragged by car in Jaipur
The incident took place on the morning of August 15. The shocking hit-and-run incident was captured on CCTV.
According to an India Today report, the deceased has been identified as Narsaram Jajra. He was going to Chitrakoot Stadium on his bicycle when the car rammed him from behind.

The CCTV footage revealed that a woman was driving the car, and a child was sitting in the passenger seat.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, a 12-year-old student on his way to attend an Independence Day function at his school died after being run over by a dumper truck.
The boy, identified as Lokendra, along with three of his friends, was on a bike when it skidded off barely a few metres away from Shaheed Smarak in Jodhpur, reported PTI.
The students fell down and were run over by a dumper truck loaded with stones coming behind them. According to the police, Lokendra was crushed to death on the spot, while the other three were critically injured.
Prior to that, a woman college professor died in Karauli district when she lost control of her scooter after colliding with the open door of a parked car on the roadside. She was run over by an incoming truck from behind, according to PTI.
The deceased was been identified as Diksha (35), an assistant professor at Karauli Medical College. The accident occurred near the Collectorate on Wednesday night when she was returning from college.

SHO (Airport) Ramkrishna Tada said all four children were on the same bike, were minors, and not wearing any helmets. "In front of Hotel Radisson, their bike skidded and they fell down while overtaking a small truck loaded with stones. Wheels of the truck ran over Lokendra Singh, crushing him to death on the spot while injuring three others, and the driver fled from the spot," Tada said, adding that a distant camera recording has shown the victims going behind the truck. "We have seized the dumper and detained the driver," said Tada, adding that two injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital, while one was discharged after primary treatment. Swinging into action, police swiftly removed the dead body from the spot and arranged to clean the spot in view of the chief minister's convoy, which had to head to the airport. The family members also demanded that Chief Minister Sharma, who was in the city for the state-level Independence Day celebration, come to the spot and talk to them. But given the demonstration, the administrative officials changed the route of the chief minister to the airport, who was to board the flight back to Jaipur. Firing between rival gangs rocks Jodhpur
Jodhpur: There was an abrupt surge in incidents of firing in Jodhpur around Independence Day. After an incident on Aug 14 in Paota area, where a bullet shot by an unidentified person hit a female student in her elbow, yet another incident of firing amid gang rivalry near Ummed Stadium on Saturday unleashed panic in the city. The firing took place barely a few meters away from the local police post. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing members of rival gangs fighting. It is reported that after the physical clash, persons from one gang opened fire on the other. However, nobody was reported hurt in the firing. As soon as information was received, a police team reached the spot and began an investigation. Police officers said they are gathering details by speaking with local residents, while also working to identify the accused with the help of nearby CCTV cameras. SHO (Udai Mandir) Sitaram Khoja said the firing was due to gang rivalry and was aimed at threatening the other gang. "We have registered a case and initiated investigation," Khoja said. The two gangs involved have been identified as the Tantiya gang and the NCR gang. The firing is said to have been carried out by the members of the NCR gang. Police file case against pub for selling liquor on dry day
Pune: The Yerawada police acted on a tip-off and raided a pub named Ballr at Kalyaninagar around 1.10am on Friday for selling liquor despite the fact that the govt has declared Aug 15 as a dry day. Police also registered a case against the manager (45). According to the police, there were 300 to 500 people in the pub when it was raided. Senior inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada police said, "We have registered a case against the pub manager under the sections 223 (disobedience to the orders promulgated by a public servant) and 293 (continuance of nuisance after injunction to discontinue) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita."
