‘The Equalizer': First Look At Titus Welliver Ahead Of Potential CBS Spinoff
You can see Welliver in the above image with Equalizer star Queen Latifah and Juani Feliz in the background in silhouette. As we previously reported, Welliver and Feliz have been tapped as the two leads of the potential spinoff, which has not yet received a series order. Their characters are both set to be introduced in episode 516 of The Equalizer on April 20, titled 'Sins of our Father'. You can see an additional image of Welliver and Queen Latifah below.

Welliver will play Hudson Reed, a former top CIA operative with a dark secret who is connected to Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) by an old mentor. Feliz plays Samantha Reed who has been trained by her father to be a weapons expert, skilled martial artist and true chameleon all while hiding a mysterious past.
Both Welliver and Feliz were cast as guest stars in the episode. with series regular options for the potential spinoff.
A reimagining of the classic series, The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn.
The Season 5 cast also includes Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira, Laya DeLeon Hayes with Lorraine Toussaint.

Welliver can currently be seen starring as Harry Bosch in Bosch: Legacy, which is airing its third and final season on Prime Video. He portrayed Harry Bosch on all seven seasons of the mothership series Bosch.
Feliz recently recurred on Tracy Oliver's Amazon television series Harlem Her credits also include series Fleishman Is In Trouble and DMZ, A24 feature Civil War and AMC's upcoming The Terror: Devil In Silver.

'Bend It Like Beckham' sequel in the works, director Gurinder Chadha confirms: What we know so far
The announcement comes 23 years after the first film hit theaters. Yes, you did read that correctly: Bend It Like Beckham is getting a sequel. Two decades after Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley charmed audiences with their portrayals of teammates turned bestie footballers in West London, the film's director and cowriter, Gurinder Chadha, has confirmed that a second installment is officially in the works. Released in 2002, Bend It Like Beckham quickly became a cultural phenomenon. With Nagra as its lead, 18-year-old Jasminder 'Jess' Bhamra, the film functioned as a sort of love letter to football-obsessed England. It offered a thoughtful depiction of a young girl's dream of making it big in a male-dominated field, while also showcasing the realities of growing up in a traditional Sikh household and coming of age in the Indo-British diaspora. 'Let's hope we can bring back that same joy and feel good about putting women and girls on the map like we did 23 years ago,' Chadha told Deadline this week. From Chadha's confirmation to whether the original cast will be returning, here's everything we know (so far!) about the Bend It Like Beckham sequel. When was the sequel confirmed? Deadline broke the news on July 26 that a Bend It Like Beckham sequel is underway. Chadha was in Basel, Switzerland, at the time, for the Women's European Championship final, where the England women's soccer team won gold. The London filmmaker said her desire to bring a second Beckham film installment to fruition was influenced, in part, by the increased interest in women's soccer across the globe. 'Women's football is more competitive, more exciting, and more global than ever,' she told Deadline. 'It is an honor for me to be a small part of it.' Chadha said she hadn't wanted to revisit the Bend It Like Beckham world until she came up with a good enough story that warranted it — which, she says she did 'just about a month ago.' Now, Chadha and her husband, Paul Mayeda Berges (with whom she cowrote the original), are working on the script. Chadha says she's also working 'collaboratively' with Emma Hayes, the new head coach of the U.S. women's national soccer team, to help bring the project to life. 'I'm excited to revisit the original characters and revive the enduring story and build on the legacy we helped to create for the women's game,' Chadha said. Is the original cast returning? Nagra and Knightley lit up the screen as costars back in the day, with some fans even hoping that their onscreen characters would turn out to be each other's romantic interests (they didn't, alas). Chadha told Deadline that Nagra, Knightley, Archie Panjabi, Juliet Stevenson and other members of the original cast 'are aware that a sequel is being developed,' but they'll want to see a script before they actually commit. 'Everything hinges on the script and if the original cast likes it,' she said. 'I am working really hard to make sure every character I bring back has a decent arc and scenes.' Original Bend It Like Beckham cast members haven't spoken out about the news of the sequel yet. Knightley, however, previously shared her support for a follow-up to the original that explores a lesbian love story between Jess and Jules. 'F*** yeah! That would've been amazing. Trump 'should not pardon' Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Megyn Kelly says
Megyn Kelly is speaking out to urge President Donald Trump against potentially pardoning Sean "Diddy" Combs. In an X post on July 30, Kelly said that "Trump should not pardon Diddy" because "he doesn't deserve it" referencing a Deadline report published a day earlier – featuring unnamed sources – that considered the possibility of a pardon. "He's a Trump hater. He's a woman abuser. MAGA is already upset over elites seeming to cover for each other. This would not help. GOP struggling w/young female voters, most of whom will HATE a Diddy pardon," Kelly continued. USA TODAY reached out to Combs' team for comment. Trump Now 'Seriously Considering' Pardon For Sean Combs Ahead Of Sentencing; White House Officially Says Nothing
EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump is heavily weighing giving Sean 'Diddy' Combs a full presidential pardon ahead of the convicted Bad Boy Records founder's sentencing later this year. Nearly two months after Trump publicly entertained the notion of a Diddy pardon in an Oval Office gaggle, a comprehensive get out of jail card for Combs is being 'seriously considered,' an administration source tells Deadline. Of course, as a number of parties attest, this being the roller coaster of Trumpworld, any decision on a Combs pardon is in flux until POTUS actually puts his signature on paper. RELATED: Repeatedly denied a $50 million bond and release from Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest last September, Combs could end up spending two to three years in a federal prison upon his sentencing on October 3 by Judge Arun Subramanian. Any sentence certainly would include time already served by Combs. Even with that, and the feds seeking the maximum under sentencing guidelines, an appeal is widely expected to be launched by the 10-attorney-deep defense almost immediately after sentencing occurs. Contacted by Deadline, Combs' defense team led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Gerago had 'no comment' on any pardon talk for their client. While a number of individuals close to Combs both personally and professionally have been very active in seeking White House recourse for the Grammy winner, the defense team itself has had no significant participation in the process, I hear. Up on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the reply was that 'the White House will not comment on the existence or nonexistence of any clemency request,' according to an administration official. RELATED: With a damning verdict for the U.S. Attorney's office for the Southern District of New York delivered by a federal jury on July 2 after an eight-week sex-trafficking trial, Combs escaped the most severe of the criminal charges he was facing. Even before the mixed verdict came in, Trump exclaimed on May 30 that when it came to a Diddy pardon, he 'would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don't like me.' Once big on Trump, Combs became quite critical of him during the Republican's first term and endorsed Joe Boden in 2020. Before that, Trump and Combs had known each other for decades, with the former bluntly calling the latter a 'good friend' in 2012. Soon after hitting stardom, the often-ostentatious Combs was a regular on the 1990s and 2000s Manhattan party and charity circuit and often came into contact with Trump, who moved in similar circles. In the Season 12 premiere of The Apprentice, Trump told a reticent ex-Danity Kane singer Aubrey O'Day that he thought her former boss was 'a good guy, I'm going to stick up for him.' Asserting in May of this year that 'no one has asked' for a pardon for Combs, Trump added, 'I know people are thinking about it' as the May 12-starting trial went on. Jumping into the fray after weeks of trolling Combs, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson vowed to stop any pardon. 'I'm gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy,' the Trump-friendly rap star May 31 posted on social media. RELATED: Weeks later, after hearing harrowing testimony of drug-fueled 'freak off' sex sessions and violence from ex-girlfriends 'Jane' and a very pregnant Cassie Ventura, as well as ex-staffers, male escorts and law enforcement, the jury of four women and eight men only convicted Combs on the charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. Avoiding a likely life sentence, the 55-year-old Combs was declared not guilty in early July of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The result laid bare the clear overreach and shortcomings of the Maurene Comey-led prosecutors' legal strategy, as well as the power of celebrity in American justice. This week, Combs' defense lawyers again requested that their client be let out of his confinement. Yet again, an offer of a $50 million bond was put on the table, as were restrictions on Combs' travel and who he interacts with. Earlier this month, Judge Subramanian gave the prosecution and the defense a July 30 deadline to put together a detailed package on letting Combs out for the roughly 60 days before sentencing. It looks like that proposal will not be a joint proposal from the parties, though more documents from the defense might show up in the docket in the next 24 hours. RELATED: Oval Office consideration of a Combs pardon has grown in recent days, I'm told by multiple sources. The increased interest also comes as the distraction-politics-advocating POTUS faces an uprising by his MAGA base over the continued reluctance on the part of the Department of Justice to make public promised files on now-dead sex offender and former Trump pal Jeffrey Epstein. Trump has even turned on enduring ally Rupert Murdoch with a $10 billion lawsuit after the Fox News owner's Wall Street Journal published a piece on July 18 on the president and Epstein's friendship. The well-connected millionaire was indicted in 2019 on sex trafficking charges and more involving underage women. As a point of contention for some who disbelieve the official suicide conclusion, Epstein died suddenly in custody in New York before his trial could begin. RELATED: Not long after the Combs' verdict was announced and as the Epstein flip fallout exploded, lead prosecutor Comey — daughter of ex-FBI director and Trump foe James Comey — was brusquely fired from the SDNY after years of service as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. In a July 18 statement on her exit, ex-Epstein prosecutor Comey never mentioned Trump by name, but left no doubt who she was referring to when she said: 'Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought.'
