Party workers will be duly recognised
Anakapalli: Part workers who strive for the development of TDP will be duly recognised, announced Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha.
Speaking at the 'mini Mahanadu' organised in Anakapalli district here on Thursday, Home Minister Anitha alleged that illegal cases were filed against TDP leaders and activists during the previous government.
She pointed out that no development had taken place in Payakaraopeta in the past five years. On the contrary, the coalition government is focusing on both development and welfare giving equal importance to both aspects, she added.
The Home Minister mentioned that thousands of job opportunities will be provided to youth through the establishment of a Bulk Drug Park and an integrated steel plant to be set up jointly by ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel. She stated that Payakaraopeta is the bastion of the Telugu Desam Party and every activist who served the party would be recognised.
During the programme, leaders and activists who have rendered excellent service in the constituency were honoured.
Earlier, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, Anakapalle district in-charge Minister Kollu Ravindra unfurled the party flag, paid tributes to the founder of the TDP and former Chief Minister NTR by garlanded his statue. Several resolutions were unanimously approved in the mini Mahanadu in the presence of the party leaders.
An army of district MLAs, MLC Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao and TDP top leaders participated in the programme.

MLA emphasises govt.'s commitment to green development
Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy on Thursday said that the State government's is committed to ensure development with minimal carbon foot print. At a programme organised by the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) commemorating World Environment Day at Renigunta, The MLA underscored the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding the environment. 'The World Environment Day is not just symbolic, but a call for action to individuals, communities and governments to take sustainable steps for the future.' Mr. Reddy also highlighted the various green initiatives taken up by the TDP-led government under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Further, the MLA noted that the TDP government, during its earlier stint in 2014-19, had made Andhra Pradesh a frontrunner in renewable energy by establishing massive solar and wind power projects, especially in districts like Anantapur and Kurnool, and set ambitious targets to generate over 10,000 megawatts of clean energy. Waste-to-energy projects were also launched through a government order in 2017, to manage municipal waste scientifically and sustainably. The event was marked by the participation of several dignitaries including TUDA Chairman Dollars Divakar Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Greening and Beautification Corporation Chairperson Mannuru Sugunamma and Tirupati Municipal Corporation Commissioner N. Mourya. Mr. Divakar Reddy and others hailed the Smart Village – Smart Ward programme, another key initiative under TDP, as having aimed at making local communities cleaner and greener by promoting solid waste management, solar-powered infrastructure, and drinking water safety. The leaders planted saplings and took a pledge to protect the environment.

TDP MP Shabari Byreddy highlights woman power at BRICS Forum
VIJAYAWADA: TDP Lok Sabha MP Shabari Byreddy took part in the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum held in Brazil from June 3–5, 2025, representing India as a woman parliamentarian on an international platform. Speaking at the session on Empowering Women to Face the Climate Crisis, Shabari highlighted how India has always been active in protecting the environment, even before global discussions on climate change began. She referred to the Chipko Movement of the 1970s, where rural women played a key role in saving forests. She also spoke about India's progress on climate goals, including a 24% reduction in emission intensity over 2005 levels, and achieving 159 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity, already meeting its 40% target. She mentioned that India now has the largest number of Ramsar sites in the entire South Asia. She also spoke about the need for gender-inclusive climate policies and the important role women can play in environmental protection. She said Indian women, seen as 'Shakti', have the power to bring change and heal the world. In another part of her address, she focused on the role of women in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

MP, MLAs seek rail infrastructure upgradation in Vijayawada segment
VIJAYAWADA: MP Kesineni Shivanath (Chinni), along with MLAs Bonda Umamaheswar Rao and Vasanta Krishna Prasad, held a review meeting with Divisional Railway Manager Narendra A Patil in Vijayawada on Wednesday to address long-pending railway infrastructure issues across Central, West, and Mylavaram constituencies. During the meeting at the DRM office, the MP submitted detailed letters and photographs documenting problems identified during joint field inspections with the MLAs. He urged the expedited completion of the stalled Road Over Bridge (ROB) works at LC Nos. 7, 8, and 316 in the Central constituency and requested the construction of an underpass or RUB at Vambe Colony–Devi Nagar Katta to enhance safety. The delegation also demanded a second ROB at Singh Nagar to reduce traffic congestion. MLAs and TDP State Official Nagul Mira highlighted the urgent need for road development between Meesala Rajeshwar Rao Bridge and the railway station, and widening of the Errakatta Bridge in the West constituency. They also flagged clogged railway drains, warning of possible monsoon hazards. They welcomed the development of Rayanapadu station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and sought similar modernisation for Kondapalli station in Mylavaram.
