
46 specialised centres ready to adjust academic programmes for students in unified admission
These centres aim to assist students during the critical phase of adjusting their academic programmes in the Unified Admission electronic system—a pivotal stage that requires careful decision-making and awareness of available options.
Fatima Khalfan Al Fori, Assistant Director of Curriculum and Career Guidance, stated that these centres are geographically distributed across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, ensuring easy access for all students, whether inside the country or studying abroad.
She added that the centers aim to empower students to make informed academic decisions by providing technical and advisory support, facilitating smooth and accurate use of the electronic registration and modification system.
Al Fori explained that these efforts were not spontaneous but followed a comprehensive preparatory phase, including careful selection of centre locations, nomination of participating specialists, and equipping facilities with devices, computers, and internet access to ensure effective service delivery for students and their guardians.
She noted that 158 department heads, supervisors, and career guidance specialists—who volunteered during the summer break—are delivering these services, strategically distributed to ensure comprehensive coverage across educational governorates.
The locations of these centers were announced through various media and digital platforms to ensure all eligible students are informed, raising awareness about the importance of this stage and the need for precise academic programme selection.
Services at these centers include responding to student and parent inquiries about registration, the process of arranging academic programs in the electronic system—whether in person, by phone, or through communication groups—as well as individualised career consultations to guide students based on their academic inclinations.
Additionally, the centres assist in resolving technical issues encountered during modification or submission, monitor updates on academic programs and new specialisations, and coordinate with the Higher Education Admission Centre specialists when immediate support is needed for exceptional cases.
This stage is among the most sensitive in the registration and admission process, requiring students to thoroughly review the student guide, understand programme requirements, and ensure sufficient program options are entered—enhancing their chances of securing a suitable seat while minimizing missed opportunities due to improper prioritization.

Registration of 'Iqraa for Young Readers' 2025 competition continues until 2 October
Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, affiliated with the Diwan of Royal Court, continues to receive applications for the 14th edition of the "Iqraa for Young Readers" competition until 2 October 2025. Registration is available via the competition's official website: The competition is a cultural initiatives annually adopted by the Centre. It aims to foster a reading habit among young people, enhance their cultural awareness, and encourage them to frequent libraries. This contributes to building their personalities, expanding their intellectual and cognitive horizons, and promoting national values and cultural identity. The competition is divided into three levels based on age groups and covers diverse topics related to national, scientific, and social aspects. Participants are required to read a number of books, write summaries about them, and then discuss their content during the evaluation stages. Participation will be evaluated based on the following criteria: linguistic correctness, clarity of idea, quality of handwriting, style, and linguistic formulation, in addition to adherence to the general terms and conditions published on the competition website. Seventh edition of 'Dhofar Holy Quran Forum' concludes in Salalah
Salalah: The 7th edition of 'Dhofar Holy Quran Forum' concluded on Wednesday at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The forum was organised by the Directorate General of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Dhofar Governorate. The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and senior government officials. The ceremony included a visual presentation about the development of Quranic teaching from traditional methods to modern digital technologies, in addition to a religious chanting programme. The ceremony also saw the felicitation of 24 winners in the Quran Competition and 40 local women who completed the memorisation of the Holy Quran. The forum's activities included working papers that discussed intellectual and educational issues, including the methodology of understanding the Holy Quran, as well as the Holy Book's approach in addressing intellectual challenges and building a sound value system.
