From Novotel to ibis Styles: Explore Deira's Best Summer Hotel Offers

Al Bawaba16 hours ago

With summer now in full swing and domestic travel on the rise, Dubai's Deira district is quietly re-emerging as a weekend retreat for residents and travelers. In line with this shift a cluster of urban hotels, including Novotel, Mercure, ibis Styles, and Adagio Aparthotel, are leaning into the city's heritage appeal, offering thoughtfully positioned stays that cater to the evolving preferences of local travelers.
More than just a price-driven proposition, the move signals a broader shift by the hospitality sector to court UAE residents seeking immersive yet affordable city breaks, and each hotel has tailored its summer offering to meet the needs of distinct traveler profiles.
Novotel Dubai Gold District
Bridging the energy of modern Dubai with the character of its historic trading heart, Novotel Dubai Gold District is ideally suited for business travelers, short-stay guests, and those embarking on cruise journeys from Port Rashid. It's the perfect choice for visitors looking to explore the Gold and Spice Souks, while also offering convenient access to Dubai International Airport, making it ideal for a hassle-free, time-efficient stay.
The hotel is a great option for those wanting to balance meetings with leisure, serving as a well-connected base to discover the city. What sets this property apart are its elevated views, outdoor pool, gym, and tranquil spa, making it the perfect place to unwind. Whether it's a layover, a weekend stop, or a culturally rich short escape.
Mercure Dubai Gold District
Steps from the Gold Souk Metro Station and a short stroll from Dubai's atmospheric heritage zones, Mercure's newest outpost feels like a cultural checkpoint between the past and the present. Designed for travellers who prefer cobbled streets over concierge queues, the hotel connects you to the sensory overload of Deira's souks — gold, spice, textiles — with the added benefit of plush, modern comfort. For first-time Dubai visitors and repeat travellers craving something more authentic, this property is a gateway to the city's soul.
ibis Styles Dubai Gold District
Stylish on a shoestring, ibis Styles Gold District is where budget meets bold. Tailored for solo wanderers, young couples, and backpackers, the hotel offers fuss-free stays with flashes of personality — think minimalist rooms, bright accents, and a location that's as walkable as it is photogenic. Within minutes, you're weaving through souks or hopping on the metro. It's also a smart pick for guests looking to explore the city on foot.
Mercure Dubai Deira
For the traveler who likes their escape with a side of flavor, Mercure Dubai Deira delivers. Set amidst Deira's dynamic souks and creative corridors, this property offers both grounded and generous vibes — rooftop swims, creative cocktails, and easy access to Dubai's evolving food scene. The contemporary interiors bring its distinctly local spirit to life. It's a natural choice for hybrid workers looking to balance work and fun, while chasing new discoveries beyond the typical brunch circuit.
ibis Styles Dubai Deira
Bold, expressive, and unapologetically Instagrammable, ibis Styles Dubai Deira was made for the modern traveler who values mood and meaning in equal measure. Interiors draw on Arabic calligraphy and local color, while rooftop views stretch across Dubai Creek and the city's low-slung historic skyline. The hotel invites creators and fun-loving guests to soak in the light, explore the city, and enjoy the art within the hotel — perfect for those who travel light but expect their stay to leave a mark.
Adagio Aparthotel Dubai Deira
For those who linger longer — families, business travelers, and digital nomads — Adagio offers a quieter, apartment-style rhythm. Its 189 fully serviced residences come with kitchenettes, laundry facilities, living spaces, and views of the Gold Souk waterfront. It feels less like a hotel and more like a pied-à-terre in one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. And when you're ready to dip back into the pulse of Deira, the souks, metro, and Dubai Creek are right at your feet.
Valid for bookings made until July 31, 2025, for stays through September 30, 2025, the offer gives guests up to 25% off stays of two nights or more. The tiered discount includes 20% off for all guests, with an additional 5% for members of ALL – Accor Live Limitless, and 10% off for Accor Plus members. Available across all booking platforms, from direct websites to OTAs, the deal is prepaid, non-refundable, and non-flexible.
While Dubai's hospitality industry typically sees a slowdown in summer, Deira's repositioning as a culturally rich, affordable escape appears to be a strategic response to evolving staycation habits. These offers not only aim to fill rooms during a softer season but also invite residents to rediscover one of the city's oldest — and most storied — neighborhoods.

Stryde acquires Qora71, launches Stryde71 to expand global VC access

UAE-based digital investment platform Stryde has acquired Qora71 and rebranded it as Stryde71. The move marks Stryde's entry into venture capital, expanding its multi-vertical investment platform regulated by the DFSA. Qora71, launched with the support of Hub71's Angel Investor Support Package, is an angel network that facilitated over 50 investments and deployed more than $2 million in capital within just five months. Its syndicate model and 130+ angel network will now power Stryde71's new venture arm. The acquisition enables retail and qualified investors to co-invest in global startup deals via an end-to-end, community-driven platform. It also strengthens Abu Dhabi's VC infrastructure, aligning with Hub71's broader mission to grow the UAE as a global innovation hub. Press release: Stryde, a DFSA-regulated digital investment platform, has announced the acquisition of Qora71, the region's fastest-growing angel investment network. As part of the deal, Qora71 will be rebranded as Stryde71, establishing a new vertical within the Stryde ecosystem focused on venture capital and technology deals syndication. The acquisition marks Stryde's entry into global venture capital and strengthens its position as a multi-vertical private markets investment platform enabling individuals and institutions to seamlessly access global deals. Alongside Stryde Sports, Stryde71 expands venture capital access to both qualified and retail investors. Additional verticals are in development, as Stryde advances its mission to unlock high-quality alternative investments. Qora71 was launched with the support of Hub71's Angel Investor Support Package with the aim of unlocking greater access to early-stage capital for founders across the Middle East. In just five months, the network built a community of more than 130 angel investors and facilitated more than 50 investments, deploying over $2 million in capital, with over $1m additional in the pipeline. Founded by Youssef Salem, Qora71 quickly became a platform for community-led investing, enabling strategic capital formation through a digitally enabled syndicate model. 'Bringing Qora71 into the Stryde family is a major milestone,' said Hadi Halabi, Co-founder, Stryde. 'Yousef's leadership and what Qora71 built at Hub71 in record time is nothing short of inspirational. Together, we're unlocking the next generation of startup investing in the region and globally.' Youssef Salem, who now joins Stryde as Partner said: 'Qora71 was born out of a desire to give exceptional founders access to meaningful capital, connectivity, and market access, all powered by a community of strategic angels. In five short months, we proved that vision. Now with Stryde, we can scale that impact exponentially.' Stryde71 combines Qora71's community-driven syndicate model with Stryde's DFSA-regulated platform, offering a seamless, end-to-end investment experience. Marking Stryde's entry into Abu Dhabi via ADGM, the new arm enables retail and qualified investors to co-invest in exclusive startup deals while giving founders a one-stop platform to raise capital across early and growth stages. Basma Ahmed AlBadi AlDhaheri, Head of Value Creation at Hub71, said: 'Through Qora71, we supported early-stage investors and catalysed meaningful outcomes, facilitating capital deployment into high-potential startups and accelerating their growth. The launch of Stryde71 is a natural next step. It reflects not only the success of the initiative but also the collective progress of our community and our broader mission to strengthen Abu Dhabi's capital landscape.' The acquisition reflects the growing momentum behind early-stage funding in Abu Dhabi and the increasing availability of infrastructure supporting founders across the venture landscape. As the UAE strengthens its position as a global hub for innovation, Stryde71 represents a new model of regulated, community-driven investing designed to accelerate startup growth and attract global capital.
