For a second day in a row, heat reaches 90 in D.C.
It reached 90 degrees in the District on Friday for the second successive day, and it was sultry enough and sticky enough and even hazy enough to supply a summer-in-the-city sense to the middle of June, with the solstice only a week away.
It was a time of international uncertainty, and domestic tensions, and it was on the eve of a major outdoor celebration. In the capital, with a summery sky often filled with storm clouds, as well as actual evening lightning, the weather did its part to give a suggestion of things heating up.

Warm front puts Father's Day into the 70s, chances for storms push into next week
Spotty showers roll into Minnesota early Saturday morning, but will exit to the east east, allowing for some dry time. However, the clouds stick around keeping highs in the mid to upper 60s. There's a chance for an isolated shower or storm Saturday evening, but it looks like a better chance for scattered storms arrives overnight and again on Sunday, Father's Day. With a warm front slowly lifting in the north, temperatures will be a bit warmer, sliding into the mid to upper 70s for Father's Day. The end of next week looks a little drier as the pattern tries to break for some sunshine.

The NEXT Weather Team is tracking a hot and mostly dry Father's Day Weekend for South Florida as afternoon highs linger in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Despite this being near-average, it will still feel like summer with "feels like" temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. While isolated showers will be possible throughout the morning and early afternoon, chances are only at 20% and most will remain dry. This trend continues for Father's Day as highs peak around 90 degrees. If you're looking to beat the heat by heading out to the coast, there is a moderate rip current risk at the beach and no alerts out on the water. Don't forget the sunscreen as the UV Index is "extreme" today and will most likely remain that way for at least the next several days.
