Kaizer Chiefs star SUSPENDED for the Nedbank Cup final
Kaizer Chiefs must reshuffle their defence to marshal Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final. Who's missing out?
Kaizer Chiefs left-back Bradley Cross won't take part in the weekend showpiece through suspension after his red card against Pirates in last weekend's league meeting. The 24-year-old has occasionally even been used at centre-back this season, such have been the injury struggles for manager Nasreddine Nabi to contend with. Edmilson Dove should shift out to deputise for Cross. Further up the pitch, coach Nabi must either opt for Thabo Cele ot Nkosingiphile Ngcobo to partner Yusuf Maart at the base of midfield.
Predicted Amakhosi XI for the final
Chiefs and Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates will play in their ninth meeting in a Nedbank Cup final. The match will kick off at 15:30 on Saturday, 10 May, at Moses Mabhida Stadium. History gives Kaizer Chiefs a chance
Of the teams' eight previous meetings in the Nedbank Cup final, Kaizer Chiefs have won six finals – in 1971, 1976, 1977, 1981, 1984 and 2006. Orlando Pirates have managed two wins in 1975 and 1988. A 75% win ratio is a huge reason for Amakhosi fans to be cautiously optimistic.
Who should play left-back against Pirates?

Kaizer Chiefs re-visit interest in R9-million Sundowns Bafana star!
Kaizer Chiefs are once again interested in signing this Mamelodi Sundowns man. Kaizer Chiefs are planning to raid PSL champions and rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns for players. Amakhosi now have SIX Sundowns players on their radar ahead of the 2025/26 season. Furthermore, they are now re-visiting their interest in this R9-million Masandawana player. Terrence Mashego is once again on Amakhosi's radar. However, this time Chiefs have a very good chance of securing the Sundowns defender. This is because he was excluded from Sundowns Club World Cup squad. So, this is a clear indication that he is not in Portuguese coach, Miguel Cardoso's future plans at the club. Now, Chiefs have identified him as one of their main transfer targets, acccording to Phakaaati. 'With Chiefs now prioritising reinforcements on the left side of their defence, sources close to the club suggest Mashego is high on their shortlist. His absence from Miguel Cardoso's Club World Cup squad may be the clearest indication that he's not in the coach's plans,' the publication reported. Meaning, Chiefs have their best chance of signing their Sundowns target so far. Meanwhile, he needs regular gametime to revive his national team ambitions. Mashego was a part of Bafana Bafana squad that claimed Bronze but has struggled to return to the national setu p following due to lack of playing time at Sundowns. Therefore, a move to Chiefs will be in the best interest of both parties involved with the Soweto giants in the market for some recruitments at the back. According to Transfermarkt , Mashego is valued at over R9 million. Meanwhile, these are the most expensive and valuable Sundowns players. Youth Day 2025: Anger online over unemployment
As the country celebrates the 49th anniversary of Youth Day, social media users believe there is little to celebrate this year. The government is expected to address the youth at the North West University Rag Farm Stadium in Potchefstroom. The event will focus on education, skills and economic development in the country. Deputy President Paul Mashatile will deliver the keynote address. Several ministers will also be present, including Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie and acting CEO of the National Youth Development Agency, Mafiki Duma. This year's events are held under the theme, 'Skills for the Changing World – Empowering Youth for Meaningful Economic Participation'. Several social media users have aired out their frustrations online. They have highlighted the disconnect between Youth Day celebrations and the harsh realities many young South Africans face. This is as a result of the country's youth unemployment rate currently standing at a staggering 46.1%. Taking to X, @Tshediso_MET wrote: 'As part of stats, I say happy Unemployed-Youth day. We commemorate the fallen youths who fought for their independence, and frown on the system of today as they piss on the 1976 memory. We are free, but in reality, we are in shackles that our brothers put as they enrich themselves.' Another user, @moketemthunzi tweeted that there is nothing to be happy about ahead of the government's commemorations. Meanwhile, @MceboSekgoto shared: 'Happy Youth Day, Today, we celebrate Youth Day – a day to honour the courage, resilience, & potential of young people. Yet, for many, this day is also a stark reminder of the immense challenges we are facing, particularly the distressing reality of high youth unemployment in SA!' Despite growing frustration, government leaders maintain that addressing youth issues remains a central focus. According to the SA Government News Agency, Mashatile acknowledged that the country is well aware of the ongoing challenges facing today's young people. As a result, he emphasised that these issues remain a top priority for government intervention. 'Government is putting a strong emphasis on the importance of strong collaboration by all implementing partners on education, skills and economic development to link youth with education and economic opportunities to address youth unemployment in our country,' said the deputy president. Percy Tau drops HUGE Orlando Pirates transfer move hint!
Percy Tau has just dropped this massive hint over his next move – take note Orlando Pirates. Orlando Pirates are in the process of ushering in the new era. The Bucs will have a new head coach and a new captain next season. However, it does not stop there. Pirates are going to be revamping their entire squad with new signings and departures imminent. The latest transfer rumour says ex-Sundowns and Bafana Bafana star, Percy Tau hinting at a huge move possible to Mayfair. Percy Tau is open to returning to South Africa. So, it comes as no suprise that the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns (his former club), Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have all been reportedly linked with his coveted name. However, it is the Bucs who Tau recently hinted at being open to moving to. 'I'd Listen to anybody, let's not rule out Orlando Pirates, or even Stellenbosch, SuperSport (United),' Tau told the media. Suprisingly, he has teased the possibility of joining Pirates before even mentioning Chiefs. Therefore, Tau is open to joining Pirates if the right offer is made. Meanwhile, he has not ruled out joining PSL rivals Stellenbosch FC or SuperSport United. Despite Tau being open to returning to the PSL, Chiefs are unlikely to make an offer for the Bafana attacker. Furthermore, Amakhosi have identified these attackers as their main transfer targets up front. Moreover, Amakhosi feel that they have learnt from their past mistakes with Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat. In both instances, they chased a big name with experience but the players were past their prime. 'The team feels that apparently they believe they have learnt a lesson from the signing of Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly,' an insider explained.
