Egypt Declares End to Irregular Migration, Hosts 10M Refugees
Egypt has successfully eliminated Irregular migration and is now home to more than 10 million refugees and migrants, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty announced during a joint press conference with his French and German counterparts on Monday.
In his remarks, Abdelatty said the country's efforts to curb irregular migration have been driven by direct orders from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who has made migration and refugee issues a national priority.
'Egypt provides essential services and freedom of movement to refugees and migrants without resorting to closed camps,' Abdelatty said, highlighting Egypt's distinctive approach compared to many other nations.
He also stressed the importance of linking migration to sustainable development and incorporating humanitarian principles in dealing with displacement crises.
Moreover, the foreign minister reaffirmed Egypt's firm rejection of any proposals to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, reiterating Cairo's longstanding support for Palestinian rights.
Egypt's announcement comes as the country continues to position itself as a key player in regional stability and a proactive partner in managing global migration challenges.

Iranian President to Visit Armenia, Belarus
Nada Mustafa Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will head to Armenia and Belarus on Monday for a two-day visit, followed by a trip to China later this month to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. US Suspends Visitor Visas for Individuals from Gaza
Israa Farhan The United States announced on Saturday the suspension of all visitor visas for individuals arriving from Gaza. The US State Department posted on X that all visitor visas for people from Gaza have been halted. The department added that the decision comes amid a full and comprehensive review of the processes and procedures used to issue a limited number of visas for medical and humanitarian purposes in recent days. According to an analysis of monthly figures published on the US State Department website, more than 3,800 B1 and B2 visitor visas, which allow foreigners to receive medical treatment in the US, were issued to holders of travel documents from the Palestinian Authority. Reuters reported that this included 640 visas issued in May. The move follows remarks on social media by far-right activist Laura Loomer, an ally of former President Donald Trump, on Friday. The decision comes as Gaza faces a severe humanitarian crisis.
