Fans accuse Taylor Swift of ripping off Kylie Minogue's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits era with her new album cover
Taylor Swift sent Swifties around the world into a meltdown when she unveiled the cover of her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on Wednesday. But some are now accusing the American star, 35, of copying iconic pop queen Kylie Minogue 's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits era. The Aussie icon commenced her Showgirl world tour in 2005 with performances in Europe before travelling to her native Melbourne, where she was diagnosed with breast cancer, causing her to postpone the remaining dates. Several fans flocked to social media to claim Taylor ripped off Kylie's showgirl look by posing in feathers and a gem-encrusted outfit. 'Kylie is the one and only showgirl! No shade to Taylor but Kylie is the ultimate,' one person wrote on Instagram. 'There's only one Showgirl and that's Kylie!!' another commented while a third person agreed: 'There is only one Showgirl and that's our Kylie.' 'Queen of the Showgirls,' one person wrote as another added: 'The OG showgirl. Still showing the girls how to do it.' Despite some backlash, others rushed to Taylor's defence and insisted that more than one showgirl can exist. 'So is 'showgirl' only reserved for Kylie or what? Don't get me wrong as I am a fan of both Kylie and Taylor... Was just wondering,' one commented. 'These comments dragging Taylor are exhausting. Kylie is one of my faves but how about we stop pitting women against each other?' a second said. 'Kylie and Taylor should do a collab,' another suggested. It comes after Taylor unveiled first-look images of her jaw-dropping upcoming album artwork to accompany her new record, The Life Of A Showgirl. The 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer, 35, looked nothing short of sensational in a skimpy feathered outfits, which were shared alongside the album announcement. Taylor first dropped the news about her 12th studio album earlier this week while teasing her upcoming appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast. On Wednesday, just as her New Heights episode premiered, the Red singer revealed the official album cover for The Life Of A Showgirl. She confirmed that the album will be released on October 3 — just over a year and a half after the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. In the new album artwork, Taylor sizzled in racy gem-encrusted outfits fit for the stage as she posed in a theatre. Keeping in the showgirl theme, Taylor wore a huge 1920s-themed feathered headpiece and dazzling bodysuit as she gazed away from the camera.

Taylor Swift shares emotional health update on dad Scott after major heart surgery
Taylor Swift has shared a major health update on her dad Scott, after he underwent a quintuple bypass procedure earlier this Summer Following months of eager anticipation, Taylor Swift fans were treated to a surprise on Wednesday night, when the pop superstar herself officially revealed all the details of her latest album The Life of a Showgirl, during her appearance with boyfriend Travis Kelce on the New Heights podcast. Whilst the stunning twelve-track lineup and album artwork dominated discussions throughout the evening, the two-hour podcast was also filled with touching revelations about the singer's personal life, including the emotional moment she reclaimed ownership of her master recordings - and the enduring impact of the Eras tour. However, woven amongst the emotional whirlwind of revelations, came a significant health update regarding Taylor's father Scott, who underwent life-saving surgery after doctors discovered he had a serious heart condition requiring immediate treatment. "He is doing incredibly well," Taylor informed podcast host Jason Kelce when he asked about her dad. "My dad had an interesting Summer. He recently had a quintuple bypass surgery and that's a really intense surgery. It all happened really quick. "He's had a healthy, perfect, EKG every year he's gone in to get his physicals - but what found his five heart blockages was a resting stress test. So he's been telling all his friends, 'You need to get this stress test' because that's what's actually preventative. If you can find that earlier, you don't actually have to have a bypass surgery, you can sort out those blockages with stents and things that are a lot less invasive.", reports the Express. Taylor subsequently disclosed the seriousness of her father's health situation, explaining that he was scheduled for surgery just a day after discovering his heart blockages. However, in typical fatherly fashion, he didn't want his family to worry or rush to his side. Despite this, Taylor ignored his wishes and hurried to his bedside to assist him during his recovery. This included some tough love when she had to take away his phone after he spent the entire night FaceTiming friends instead of resting after surgery! Determined not to leave him alone in case he needed anything, both Taylor and Travis moved in with him for the summer. With additional support from her mother and brother, they were able to help Scott make significant progress in his recovery.
