Although the St. Louis Cardinals have been starting to find a groove of things after securing their fourth straight win on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, they will look to continue their winning streak, but without one key player.

Nolan Arenado gets a late scratch before Wednesday's game against Pirates
Cardinals third baseman and future Hall of Famer Nolan Arenado has been coming up in trade rumors that have been flowing since the end of the 2024 season.
Although nothing has been officially announced and the star third baseman hasn't made any public comments, recent actions suggest he could be on his way out of St. Louis.

Before Wednesday's early game between the Cardinals and the Pirates, Arenado was listed as a late scratch minutes before the first pitch of the game.
It could be sparked by an injury or maybe even a rest day for the 34-year-old, but nothing has been released on why Arenado didn't start in the game.

It's worth to note that Arenado took to Instagram back in December, posting a bunch of photos that also has the song 'Dodger Blue' by Kendrick Lamar linked to it.
He's also from Newport Beach, California and played high school baseball at El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California.

It will be interesting to see if the future Hall of Famer and 13-year veteran is moved before the MLB Trade Deadline on July 30.
So far this season, he has a batting average of .256, an on-base percentage of .342 and a ,738 OPS with three home runs and 14 RBIs in 34 games played.

Cowboys' Micah Parsons fulfills 'good night' promise to coach, reports ahead of minicamp
Cowboys' Micah Parsons fulfills 'good night' promise to coach, reports ahead of minicamp Minicamp for the Cowboys doesn't begin until Tuesday, but superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons got an early head start by showing up for a workout at The Star in Frisco on Monday, just as he had promised his head coach he would. Video of Parsons putting in time on the treadmill and doing some weighted walking lunges made the rounds on social media after it was posted on Instagram by cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was also spotted at the team facility one day before attendance becomes mandatory. Parsons, of course, is still awaiting a contract extension that will likely make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. He did not participate in voluntary OTAs but had maintained all along that he'd be with the team for minicamp. With his Monday appearance, all indications are he'll be present and accounted for when roll is called Tuesday. Parsons's arrival to start the work week shouldn't come as a surprise, though, since the four-time Pro Bowler had promised as much to head coach Brian Schottenheimer just hours before. Taking part in a recent TikTok trend, the 26-year-old phoned Schottenheimer over the weekend to say "good night." During that call, Parsons told his coach, "Just checking in on you, meant to say good night, hope the fam is well, see you Monday, excited about next week." The conversation turned into a quick impromptu pep talk, with Schottenheimer reassuring Parsons that the contract "is going to get worked out" and reminding him, "We're building something special, and you're going to be a huge part of it." Parsons explained to fans last week that he's never missed a mandatory minicamp, and will be continuing that streak this offseason as he learns a new playbook under first-year defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. "I'm preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp!" Parsons wrote on social media. That part of his post does have some wondering if the former first-round draft pick would hold out of training camp without a contract, and it certainly offers a reminder that he may not be a full-go participant in minicamp, so as to not risk an injury with a high-dollar contract negotiation up in the air. But Parsons is in the building on Monday, handling his business and making it seem like he'll be back in the building to do so again on Tuesday. So he's certainly around for whenever the Cowboys front office decides to meet him halfway and do some business of their own. Swiss man buried in snow for two hours to break world record
June 9 (UPI) -- A Swiss man put his cold endurance to the test and broke a Guinness World Record by spending more than 2 hours buried in the snow while wearing only his swimming trunks. Elias Meyer, a competitive powerlifter, said he decided to take on the title for the longest time spent in direct full body contact with snow after discovering no one had yet cracked the 2-hour mark. Advertisement The previous record, set by Polish man Valerjan Romanvoski in 2022, stood at 1 hour, 45 minutes and 2 seconds. Meyer, wearing only his swimsuit, was buried under a mound of snow for 2 hours and 7 seconds. He said the cold bothered him less than the weight of the snow pressing down on him. "The heavy snow pressed me down, causing my shoulders and elbows to ache. Perhaps you also feel a sharp ice cube against your back, with no chance to do anything about it, you can only be thankful, thankful for everything," Meyer wrote on Instagram. The athlete said he wanted to demonstrate that the "body is capable of incredible things."
