Sabrina Carpenter risks angering fans as she teases divisive change to her shows

Daily Mirror19-06-2025
Singing superstar Sabrina Carpenter has recently released her new single Manchild which is sitting at number one in the music charts, but fans may not be able to film her performing it at her next show
American pop star Sabrina Carpenter has said that she is planning to anger her fans with an divisive move. The singer has said that she is considering banning phones from her future concerts after going to a no-phones gig herself.
However, the singer has said that she thinks the move would "honestly p*** off" her fans but this wouldn't stop her. The star said she first came up with the idea when she went to a Silk Sonic gig where they did the same thing.

Sabrina admitted that she felt like she had been taken back in time but that it improved her experience. She said it feels "super normal" for her to have phones at events but thinks it is a good idea to ban them.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Sabrina said: "I went to see Silk Sonic in Vegas, and they locked my phone. I've never had a better experience at a concert. I genuinely felt like I was back in the '70s - wasn't alive.
"Genuinely felt like I was there. Everyone's singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful. I've grown up in the age of people having iPhones at shows.
"It unfortunately feels super normal to me. I can't blame people for wanting to have memories. But depending on how long I want to be touring, and what age I am, girl, take those phones away.
"You cannot zoom in on my face. Right now, my skin is soft and supple. It's fine. Do not zoom in on me when I'm 80 years old up there."

Phones being banned at concerts have become increasingly comment over the last few years which means that fans can't record videos of the event. Several well-known acts have implemented the ban themselves including Ghost and Jack White.
Music legend Bob Dylan also had a phone ban for his UK tour last year. Sabrina recently came under fire after revealing the album artwork for her new project Man's Best Friend.
She shared the album cover on June 12, posting two images, one of a dog wearing a collar which reads Man's Best Friend and the second shows the pop star on her hands and knees as a figure standing over her is seen pulling her hair.
One fan shared their views about the cover, saying: "I'm excited to hear the music! Just not so keen on the cover. Seeing this alongside the Sydney Sweeney stuff and Bonnie Blue's petting zoo, I just really have to question what on earth is going on at the moment."
As a second said: "I feel like the undertone of violence in this cover is so triggering." While another asked: "Does she have a personality outside of sex?", as the ex-Disney star wrote: "girl yes and it is goooooood."

Pete Wicks reveals he's ‘in love' six months after split from Maura Higgins

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Pete Wicks is 'in love' again, months on from his split with his ex Maura Higgins. On the latest episode of the Staying Relevant podcast, the ex-Towie star, 36, and his co-host, Sam Thompson, 33, took a lie detector test and asked eachother personal questions. After a warm up and beating around the bush, the former Made in Chelsea star asked Pete an absolute belter. 'Are you in love with somebody right now?' asked Sam, insisting that he was being vague enough for their public platform. After taking a while to respond, Pete smiled and said: 'No.' The polygrapher confirmed Pete was lying by shaking his head and giving a thumbs down signal to the duo, leading to Sam erupting. 'Ahhh, I knew it! And that's all we're going to say, he said with his hands up, reassuring Pete that he wouldn't say his love interest's name. 'How could you do that to me?' asked Pete. 'I don't know, it just came to my head, it's a f***ing lie! Pete's in love with somebody! Find her, find her! All of our listeners find her! Pete's in love, secretly, and I think I know who it is.' 'You know exactly who it is, I literally told you the f***ing story. And she's not replied,' he said with a laugh. 'Why would you put that one in there? That was not on the f***ing list!' In March, Pete was seen hugging Love Island star Samantha Kenny after they were spotted hugging outside Mayfair's Amazonico club. Samatha is now dating someone new and the pair insisted that they are just friends. Pete and Maura were dating for several months, with Maura hinting at their relationship while in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. When Oti Mabuse asked if she was single, she replied: 'I am but I was seeing someone before I came in, but I'm not in a relationship.' She added that she was 'missing' the mystery man, who she acknowledged was someone the public might know. Speaking on the We Need To Talk podcast, Pete said of Maura: 'Maura and I have known each other for a long time now… about six years. We have the same sense of humour, she's super intelligent and I think that is sometimes something that people don't realise about Maura. 'She's incredibly witty. We have always been there for each other for the past six years at a distance. 'It's different now. We spend more time together now than we did before. My relationship with her is that I think she's a great person and I would hope that she thinks I'm alright.' The duo broke up in February 2025. On Valentine's Day, Maura confirmed things had cooled down by sharing a bunch of red roses with a card that read 'To me, Love me.' More Trending 'There have been a few clashes, and it was eventually agreed they were better off as friends,' a source told MailOnline. During the polygraph episode of the podcast, Pete turned the tables on Sam by asking him if he was currently in love. Sam answered no, and was proved to be telling the truth – with Pete delighted that he was not in love with anyone. This was likely linked to his break-up with Zara McDermott, which took place at the end of last year. Zara and Louis Tomlinson 'hard launched' their relationship with a snogging snap at the start of the month. Got a story? Matt and Emma Willis 'sad' by Netflix decision over Love is Blind

Presenting duo Matt and Emma Willis have spoken about the rules on Love Is Blind and how their relationship has been shaped by therapy Television presenting duo Matt and Emma Willis said they were said when the producers behind Love is Blind made a big decision after the show. Love is Blind is a streaming series on Netflix where equal numbers of single men and women live in separate areas and spend two weeks dating members of the opposite sex in pods where neither one can see the other. ‌ As a result, the focus is meant to be not on how someone looks, but their personality and how one converses with them. During this time period, contestants must decide whether or not they want to be engaged to the other, before spending three weeks in a flat together before deciding, at a wedding ceremony, whether or not to marry their partner. ‌ Busted bassist Matt, 42, and Emma, 49, have been the presenting the UK version of the hit Netflix dating show for the past few years, although recently announced their decision to step back from the accompanying podcast. ‌ But despite building connections with contestants on the show, they revealed they were unable to attend the wedding ceremonies for one key reason. Matt told the i: 'Apparently they tried this with the American hosts and it was too distracting.' Emma then added: 'We should just get ordained and conduct the ceremonies ourselves!' The pair's comments as they discussed their own 17-year marriage and the benefits of therapy within a relationship nearly 20-years after they first met through friends. Emma said that she was the one who made the first move Matt. She said: "I was physically attracted to Matt before I fell in love with him. He was - and still is - the most charismatic person I've ever met. As well as funny and kind.' Matt added: 'I remember the first time I hung out with Emma. Nothing happened. But I walked back to my hotel thinking: 'Oh my god! That is the coolest f****** girl I've ever met.' I remember that very vividly.' ‌ As well as looking back on the good times in their relationship, the pair have also been open about the difficult times in their marriage and how much therapy has helped them. Speaking to the BBC about it ahead of their programme 'Change Your Mind' which looked at therapy, Emma said that it had worked well for them and hoped it would work for other people. She said: 'I think we've both experienced first-hand the effects that it can have. "For us, we're huge advocates of therapy, if it's accessible to you, or simply talking or finding tools or tips and tricks that can help you.' Matt added: 'We've been through a journey and an experience. I've had quite a lot of therapy in my life and it's been transformative for me. It's also knowing the work is outside the room as well.'
