The trailer of '
Kapkapiii
,' the upcoming
horror-comedy
starring
Tusshar Kapoor
and
Shreyas Talpade
, was unveiled this week, teasing a spooky-yet-side-splitting cinematic experience. Directed by the late
Sangeeth Sivan
, the film opens with a group of friends experimenting with an
Ouija board
, unwittingly summoning a series of eerie and uproarious events. What begins as a chilling séance quickly spirals into chaos, filled with mischievous spirits and laugh-out-loud moments.
The film's strength lies in the chemistry between Tusshar and Shreyas, whose comic timing and effortless camaraderie lend the supernatural tale a nostalgic charm. Their pairing, fondly remembered from earlier comedy hits, brings a familiar warmth and rhythm to the ghostly narrative. The trailer suggests that '
Kapkapiii'
may be one of the season's most entertaining crowd-pleasers, combining ghoulish hijinks with witty humour.

Reflecting on the experience, Tusshar Kapoor shared that working on '
Kapkapiii'
felt like coming home. He noted that the film's realistic setting and relatable characters were enhanced by the creative freedom Sivan offered to the actors. 'The Ouija board element is rarely explored in Hindi films, and this one adds a fresh take,' he said. With a stellar supporting cast, the film is all set to hit the big screens on May 23, delivering frights and fun in equal measure.

Chinese actor Sunny Pang joins cast of ‘Lakadbaggha 2 - The Monkey Business'

Martial artist and actor Sunny Pang, who recently featured alongside Tom Hardy in action-thriller movie Havoc, is set to make his Indian film debut with Lakadbaggha 2 - The Monkey Business. The upcoming film is a sequel to actor Anshuman Jha's 2023 film Lakadbaggha. Jha is returning for the second part, which will also feature Riddhi Dogra and Eksha Kerung. It is directed by Sanjay Shetty. Pang, who was born in Singapore, said the level of "respect and passion" he experienced while working on the film has been incredible. "This is my first time working on an Indian film, and the level of respect and passion I've experienced here has been incredible. 'Lakadbaggha 2' isn't just another action film; it's a story with soul, a fight with purpose. At its core, it champions animal rights, and that mission gives every punch, every kick, a deeper meaning," he said in a statement. "It isn't easy making a raw, real, grounded, martial arts film. But Anshuman leads this franchise with heart, and the entire team's dedication is next-level. Our training in Bangkok to shoot in Indonesia - it's been an intense, unforgettable journey for me. And I'm truly honoured to contribute to this animal lover vigilante universe. One thing's for sure - we're holding nothing back," he added. Jha, also known for movies such as Love Sex Aur Dhokha and X: Past Is Present, said he loved Pang's work in the 2016 movie Headshot. 'It was a dream to work with him, let alone match him in a fight. Sunny Pang brings with him a legacy of real, visceral action. Having him in Lakadbaggha 2 is not just a casting win, it's a statement. This sequel is going to be bigger, bolder, and more brutal in the best way possible for the world of Indian action films,' he added. The first film in the franchise was an action vigilante film revolving around Arjun (Jha), a martial arts master who moonlights as a saviour of animals. Lakadbaggha 2 is currently in production.

Bollywood stars hitting the streets promoting their films

The Hindi film industry has been facing a turbulent phase over the past few years, with only a few films managing to make a mark at the box office annually. Major stars like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan have suffered back-to-back flops, while Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have significantly reduced their film output to one release every two or three years. With dwindling theatre footfalls, audiences are increasingly opting to watch content on OTT platforms instead. Realising the need for stronger audience engagement, Bollywood stars are now stepping out of their comfort zones and returning to aggressive ground-level promotions to draw crowds back to cinemas. The era of stars relying solely on press meets and media coverage appears to be over, replaced by direct public interaction. Recently, Akshay Kumar surprised fans by donning a mask and visiting a local theatre screening his latest film Housefull 5. He discreetly gathered public feedback without being recognised. Before most could realise who he was, Akshay left the premises. The video of this unique promotional stunt quickly went viral, earning praise from netizens. While Housefull 5 is seeing only average box office returns, Akshay's efforts have injected hope into the industry. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan, known for his innovative promotions, is back in action. To promote his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par, the actor was spotted selling vada pavs on a Mumbai street. With his last release Laal Singh Chaddha failing to impress, Aamir is determined to bounce back when the new film releases on June 20. As senior stars lead the way with unconventional promotional strategies, questions arise about the younger generation of actors. Will they follow suit and step up their efforts to reconnect with audiences? Only time will tell.
