'Sitaare Zameen Par' makers shares his opinion on marching of tech in cinema
Director R.S. Prasanna, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', feels that human beings will soon catch up with the technological changes in filmmaking. The filmmaker spoke with IANS in the run-up to the release of his film, which features Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. He recollected how he saw Indian cinema legend Kamal Haasan experimenting with a digital camera, Red Dragon. Speaking with IANS, Prasanna said, "I think the industry is pretty fast in adapting, like I remember when 35mm film was there and I was in film school and Kamal Haasan sir was testing the Red camera in our L.V. Prasad Film Institute, Chennai where I studied. He was doing a test shoot. I remember all the people around saying, 'it's just a fad and it'll not happen, it's not gonna happen', and it did". Aamir Khan's altered AI video hits cyberspace; 'Mr Perfectionist' issues clarification on 'endorsing' a particular political party The director said that one cannot stop the march of technology and one has to adapt. The audience will demand a change, the filmmakers will rise, the technological change will happen as it should, and experiments will keep happening, some will click, some will not. He further mentioned, "But I think one thing which will never change is the way our hearts beat, so as long as the heart is there in everything, the visual is only pixels, the sound is only decibels, but that feeling, that soul, that is, as long as we have a heart, stories told by humans will always be relevant". He then cited the example of romance as to how the shape or form of romance in cinematic storytelling has changed but the soul is the same. He shared, "If you see around yourself, romance has been there from early manage, they may say romance has changed, no romance has not changed, the medium has changed, today you call it situationship or anything else but, still the heart pains if you don't get to be with the person of your choice". "I feel unless genetically our heart changes or our mind changes, I think storytelling and emotions will be the same, the form will keep changing and we have to be on the awareness of that as a director, but I think for me as a filmmaker, I'm only looking for the soul, which I think soul is very old, so it won't change that fast", he added. Produced by Aamir Khan under his banner, Aamir Khan Productions, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is set to release in cinemas on June 20, 2025. 'Shame on those who voted for it: you ...', says angry Elon Musk on Donald Trump's Signature tax and spending bill, 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill'
, the Tesla CEO and one of President Donald Trump's most prominent political donors, launched a blistering attack on the president's recently passed tax-and-spending legislation, branding it a 'disgusting abomination' in a series of posts on Twitter on Tuesday (June 3). Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The outspoken billionaire, who recently stepped down as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Trump administration, expressed outrage over the bill's potential to balloon the national deficit, accusing Congress of 'making America bankrupt.' The legislation, dubbed the 'One, Big, Beautiful Bill' by Trump, was narrowly passed by the House last month and includes extensions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, alongside new spending allocations for border security and the military. However, the bill has drawn sharp criticism for its projected impact on the federal deficit, with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and independent analysts estimating it could add between $2.3 trillion and $5 trillion to the deficit over the next decade. To offset some of the costs, Republicans have proposed cuts to Medicaid, food stamps, and green-energy tax credits. Elon Musk warns America will go bankrupt Elon Musk, who has long warned of the national debt as an 'existential threat,' had previously offered only mild critiques of the bill despite his role as an informal adviser to Trump. However, his latest comments mark a dramatic escalation in tone. 'I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,' Musk wrote on X. 'It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America[n] citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.' He went on to criticize lawmakers who supported the bill, stating, 'Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now You know it.' Musk's comments come just days after his departure from the Trump administration, though he has vowed to continue advising the president informally. White House says Bill will stimulate US economy The White House has pushed back against the deficit projections, with officials arguing that the CBO estimates fail to account for the potential economic growth spurred by the tax cuts. They claim the bill's provisions will stimulate the economy enough to offset the increased spending. However, Musk's public rebuke highlights growing tensions within Trump's Republican Party over the legislation, which faced a rocky passage through the House due to opposition from both fiscal conservatives and moderates. The bill's passage has also drawn scrutiny from independent fiscal watchdogs. A recent CBO report warned that the tax provisions alone could increase the federal deficit by $3.8 trillion over the next decade, while proposed cuts to social programs like Medicaid and food stamps would only reduce spending by $1 trillion. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan group, estimated the bill could add roughly $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the same period. Musk's outspoken criticism adds a new layer of complexity to the debate as the bill awaits consideration in the Senate, where its fate remains uncertain amid ongoing partisan divides.

Elon Musk goes ballistic, says 'we fire all politicians' next November; Mike Johnson calls him 'simply wrong'
Elon Musk's sudden outburst over Donald Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' sent the administration into a damage control mode on Tuesday while the opposition celebrated the fallout as the final 'divorce' of Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Musk has exited the administration and there was a farewell address at the Oval Office though both Trump and Musk claimed that it was not a farewell and Musk would remain Trump's adviser. But Musk's outburst on X over the spending bill was not something that the administration was prepared for. "I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it," Musk wrote shaming those who voted for it while the bill is Trump's signature project. "It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt," he said. Republican senator Rand Paul, who has opposed the bill for the same reason, instantly supported Elon Musk and said Musk is right. "In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people," Elon Musk said about at the midterm election. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reacted to Elon Musk's outburst and said Donald Trump was already aware of Elon Musk's stand on the spending bill but that does not change anything. Speaker Mike Johnson said Elon is "simply wrong" about the One Big Beautiful Bill. "Our legislation comprehensively delivers on every major campaign promise and the America First agenda, while ALSO securing historic savings of more than $1.6 TRILLION. It's going to keep our borders secure, provide historic tax relief for hardworking Americans, unleash American energy dominance, reduce spending, and restore peace through strength. Congress is working hard to get this to President Trump's desk by July 4th so we can deliver on the mandate the American people gave us," Johnson said.
