Only Modi Govt Can Give Befitting Response To Pakistan: Kanpur BJP MP Ramesh Awasthi On Completing One Year In Office
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday gave a fresh shock to Pakistan after Operation Sindoor when he inaugurated the world's highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir with tricolour in his hand. Amid this, Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi has praised the Indian Armed Forces and the Modi government's resolve to punish the terrorists and their masterminds. Presenting his one-year report card, Awasthi said that only Modi government can give a befitting response to Pakistan.
To celebrate the completion of his first year in office, an event was held in Kanpur, bringing together senior party workers and local leaders. During the event, Awasthi also felicitated party colleagues for their support. BJP's UP state vice president Pankaj Singh was the chief guest at the event. Awasthi presented him with a replica of the 'Brahmos' missile – a symbol of India's strategic strength and self-reliance.
In his address, Pankaj Singh praised Awasthi for his achievements over the past year. Singh also acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussing the country's economic and strategic successes under his guidance.
Awasthi listed five key achievements during his address including an elevated railway track project from Anwarganj to Madhna. This project will eliminate 16 out of 18 crossings and is expected to ease the traffic congestion caused by frequent railway crossings. The project is valued at approximately Rs 1,000 crore. Another project included the construction of flyovers and overpasses to ease traffic congestion. The Kanpur MP also helped settle long-overdue wages for employees of Lal Imli Mill.

Awasthi also shared that the Narendra Modi government has been working to rejuvenate the city's industrial base by converting old mills into an IT park and creating new employment opportunities.
Awasthi also shared that Kanpur's railway connectivity has also been improved with the revival of several train services, including the daily superfast intercity train between Kanpur and Bareilly, as well as the resumption of the Gomti Express.

Majhi, based on intelligence reports, went to inspect sand being lifted illegally using excavators. When he opposed it, he was attacked. Police said the miscreants, mostly goons of the sand mafia, intercepted Majhi's car and tried to stop him from venturing into the sand lifting site in the river bed. Pujari announced free sand provision for Pradhan Mantri Awas beneficiaries, with a draft standard operating procedure (SOP) already in preparation to streamline the process. "The most important thing is how to facilitate the supply of sand at low cost to the lower middle class and poor. We will introduce the provision of issuing permits to beneficiaries of PM Awas to lift at least two tractor fulls of sand for free for construction of houses. The PM Awas will be free from the sand cost burden," Pujari told reporters. BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty commented that the minister's statements are merely an attempt to whitewash the obvious collusion between administration officials and the mining mafia. "Instead of taking concrete action, the minister has limited himself to making empty rhetoric," he said. 1 2 Nagpur: Maharashtra's elite C-60 commandos are gearing up for a final assault on Abujmarh, tottering headquarters of the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army, buoyed by CM Devendra Fadnavis's historic visit to the area on Friday. In Odisha, police have intensified searches in Charmal forests of Sambalpur after reports about the influx of Maoists pushed out by security forces' offensives in neighbouring Chhattisgarh. The spotlight, though, remains on Abujmarh, where Operation Clean-up aims to decimate the last vestiges of the military wing of the five-decade old Maoist movement in Maharashtra's eastern flank, say top sources in the state's anti-Naxalite apparatus. A top guerrilla on the radar is central committee member Mallojula Venugopal Reddy, alias Bhupathi or Sonu. Intelligence inputs suggested he was holed up deep inside the booby-trapped forested hills of Abujmarh and spotted a few km off Kawande -- the hamlet CM Fadnavis visited two days ago. Although Bhupathi had appealed to the Centre for a ceasefire and despite his wife Tarakka surrendering a year ago, the veteran may opt to fight till his last breath. Apart from the uncertain terrain, the battle-hardened C60 commandos are also concerned about rains which would make the hills unapproachable with numerous overflowing rivulets and nullahs. Pressure on top cadres intensified after 12 senior Maoists surrendered to Gadchiroli police on Friday, a significant setback for the outfit. The surrendered cadres, reportedly from the Maad area, are believed to have provided critical intelligence about the movements of Kosa and Bhupathi. In Odisha's Sambalpur, intelligence inputs suggested suspicious movement of some rebels from Chhattisgarh, prompting the searches. State to use I-T data to weed out ineligible ‘Ladki Bahin' beneficiaries
1 2 3 Pune: State govt is set to conduct a comprehensive verification of beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mazhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, leveraging income tax return data from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to ensure that the monthly Rs 1,500 aid reaches only economically weaker women. A notification issued by the CBDT on June 3 authorises the secretary of the state women and child development (WCD) department to access income tax (I-T) data under Section 138 of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The department has already formed a team to review the existing list of 2.5 crore applicants. Officials said the verification would help identify and remove ineligible claimants, particularly those from families with higher incomes or tax-paying members. Earlier, a scrutiny of around 2 lakh applications had revealed that 2,289 government employees had registered under the scheme. These names were promptly removed. State WCD minister Aditi Tatkare had described such verification as a routine and necessary process in the implementation of welfare schemes. The Ladki Bahin Yojana is targeted at women from low-income families, including married, widowed, divorced, abandoned and single, between the ages of 21 and 65. Eligible applicants must reside in Maharashtra, have an Aadhaar-linked bank account and belong to families with annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh. Women will be deemed ineligible if their family members are income taxpayers or are employed as regular or permanent staff in govt departments or public undertakings. Those receiving pensions, owning four-wheelers (excluding tractors) or already benefiting from other govt schemes of Rs 1,500 or more per month will also be excluded. Families of current or former MPs, MLAs or individuals holding top positions in govt boards or corporations are similarly disqualified. The officials said the integration of verified I-T data would make the screening process more accurate, reduce fraudulent claims and ensure that benefits reach the right individuals. At present, the department has 2.52 crore beneficiaries. "We have pushed the funds to accounts but it is likely that 2.47 crore would have received it," a source from the department said. Around Rs 3,719 crore was allocated for May under this scheme. Hence, the budget given to both departments increased significantly. It's not that their regular funds are being diverted or utilised for this scheme.
