‘Nagarjuna slapped me 15 times, I had marks on my face': Isha Koppikar recalls the star apologised to her afterwards

Film actors are required to act in front of the camera but sometimes, they believe that they have to go through the emotions that their character is going through to correctly portray the character's state of mind. Actor Isha Koppikar did something similar when she was working with Nagarjuna in their 1998 film Chandralekha. In a recent interview, Isha recalled that she asked Nagarjuna to slap her in a scene and to get it right, he slapped her 14 times. By the time they were done, Isha had slap marks on her face, and Nagarjuna apologised profusely. In a chat with Hindi Rush, Isha shared, 'I got slapped by Nagarjuna. I was a fully committed actor that I want to perform in a real, method way. So when he was slapping me, I couldn't feel it. This was my second film, so I told him 'Nag, you really slap me.' He said, 'Are you sure? No, I can't.' I said, 'I want that feeling. I am not feeling it right now.' So he slapped me, but softly.' Isha Koppikar said that at that time, she couldn't really express her anger in front of the camera and here, the camera couldn't catch her expression, so they kept asking her to do take after take. 'In an attempt to look angry, I got slapped 14 times,' she recalled. Prabhas' The Raja Saab: Sanjay Dutt's first look out on his birthday, netizens react

Actor Prabhas is gearing up for his new avatar in his upcoming film, The Raja Saab. After unveiling his first look, the makers treated fans to a new poster on Tuesday. They dropped Sanjay Dutt's first look from the film on his birthday. Sanjay Dutt turned 66. On his special day, The Raja Saab film team shared the birthday boy's look to wish him on social media. Promising a terrifying version of Sanjay Dutt, the makers wrote, "Team #TheRajaSaab wishes the Powerhouse and versatile Sanju Baba - @DuttSanjay a very Happy Birthday. Get ready to witness a terrifying presence that will shake you to the core this Dec 5th in cinemas (sic)." In the poster, Sanjay Dutt sports a rugged, aged look never seen before. He's seen with long grey locks and a timeworn expression. He posed against an eerie backdrop featuring layers of dust, cracked walls, and spiderwebs in an abandoned, haunted atmosphere. His look sets the tone of his sinister character in the film. Reacting to the look, netizens have shared their excitement for the film. In the comment section, a user wrote, 'Zabardast.' '1000 cr loading,' another user predicted the fate of the film. Someone commented, 'Happy Birthday @duttsanjay Sanju Baba can't wait for ur screen presence & swag in @rajasaabmovie.' Yet another called Sanjay Dutt's look 'top notch' in the comments. The Raja Saab is touted to be a horror comedy film. It is written and directed by Maruthi. Apart from Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt in the lead, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Nayanthara, and Kiara Advani. It marks Malavika's Telugu debut. The film was initially set for its release on 10 April. Later, the release was postponed. It will hit the big screens on 5 December. The Raja Saab will clash with Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's much-anticipated film, Dhurandhar. Interestingly, Sanjay Dutt is a part of both films. Talking about it, Sanjay told the media at a release event: 'It's amazing. Two different kinds of roles I'm playing. 'Dhurandhar' is different, and 'The Raja Saab' is different. I don't want the films to clash, and I hope they don't. Every film has its own journey. 'I'm trying to learn Telugu because I'm doing a film with Prabhas. He makes me eat a lot! He's one of the most amazing people and a great actor. I love Chiranjeevi sir, he did Munna Bhai here. I share a great relationship with him.'

Tanishaa Mukerji Defends Saiyaara, Slams ‘Paid' Audience Claim: ‘This Is Bollywood Bashing'

Tanishaa Mukerji reacted to claims that Saiyaara makers paid young people to cry and act emotional in theatres while watching the film. Here's what she said! Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has caused a stir at the box office, and has emerged as a surprise blockbuster. Saiyaara fever has gripped audiences across the country, especially Gen-Z, with emotional reactions flooding social media. Several videos of people crying and shouting inside the theatres while watching Saiyaara went viral on Instagram. Now, a podcast suggesting that these extreme reactions were planned by the filmmakers, caught the attention of actor Tanishaa Mukerji. She strongly responded to claims suggesting that the makers paid people to cry and act emotional in theatres, calling it yet another case of 'Bollywood bashing'. She defended the film, and stated that there is nothing wrong with people reacting to the film this way. In The Asymmetric Crew podcast, Shantanu Deshpande raised questions about the viral frenzy surrounding Mohit Suri's Saiyaara. 'What's happening with this ridiculous Saiyaara movie. The producer of this movie, in my view, has paid ₹500 in dehadi to lots of these Gen-Z young folks to go into these theatres and put on emotional performances of crying… This is how the movie is getting promoted by the way. The whole world has now become a bunch of performers," he said. Kajol's sister Tanishaa Mukerji reacted to the viral reel, and slammed the claims. She defended the film, and wrote, 'Completely disagree. Times are changing and these people are stuck in the past. Love and appreciate the new. And honestly What rubbish is this man saying. Does he know anything for a fact. He is using the phenomenon of Saiyara to get views by talking negatively." She further added, 'If people are reacting to a film what is so wrong about that. Just because he cannot relate doesn't mean the younger generation doesn't either. Every generation is different. This is india. We react. Go watch the film see how the audiences are moved. Then talk. This is just Bollywood bashing ! Brands just have to find new ways to connect to their audiences!" Saiyaara has officially crossed Rs 250 crore net in India and over Rs 300 crore worldwide—making it one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2025. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, released in theatres on July 18. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
