Actor Halle Bailey gets restraining order against rapper DDG alleging violence, fear for their baby

Bailey, 25, and Granberry, 27, were in a relationship from 2022 until last year, and since their breakup there have been 'multiple acts of physical violence,' Bailey said.

In a January incident that she recounts in detail, Bailey said Granberry was repeatedly calling her a 'bitch' as she tried to strap the baby into a seat inside his car.

'The next thing I knew, things got physical between us,' Bailey said in the documents. 'We fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped. I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain.'
Bailey included photos of her tooth and bruises on her arms in her filing.

In March, she said Granberry entered her house when she wasn't home and texted her a photo of her bed along with a threatening message suggesting she was having sex with other men.
A few days later, she said, he berated her when she did not want to send their sick baby on a visit with him, and smashed the Ring camera on her porch when he realized it was recording the confrontation. She said when she called a relative for help, he took her phone and got into his car, slamming the door on her as she was holding the baby. Bailey filed a police report over the incident.
She also asked that Granberry be ordered to stop using his streaming platforms on Twitch and YouTube to turn his followers against her.
'Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad mouthing me to his several millions of fans,' she said in the documents. 'He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.'
Granberry was also ordered not to possess any weapons. The judge can extend the order for up to five years at the June 6 hearing.
DDG, from Pontiac, Michigan, first saw success as a video streamer and then as a hip-hop artist. On May 5, he released his fourth studio album, 'Blame the Chat,' on Epic records.
Bailey, from Atlanta, has been nominated for five Grammy Awards as both a solo artist and as part of Chloe x Halle, the duo with her sister that first brought her fame.
She starred in the sitcom 'Grown-ish' from 2018 to 2022, and in 2023 played the title character in Disney's live-action remake of 'The Little Mermaid.'

Miss Grand International's Rachel Gupta Steps Down, Alleges Harassment

The former Miss Grand International 2024, who won the title in October, announced she was stepping down from the role due to mistreatment and harassment from Miss Grand International Public Company Limited (MGI), the organization behind the Thai beauty pageant. "The whole time that I was working with Miss Grand International, the last seven months,' Gupta said in a May 28 YouTube video, 'I was constantly harassed, manipulated, ignored and left to fend for myself." In addition to her allegations that she was made to sign a 'one-sided' contract and was often left without 'basic amenities,' the 21-year-old alleged that "immediately after winning, they moved me into a cramped hotel room, where all my suitcases couldn't open properly because there wasn't enough space." Gupta then alleged she gained weight as a result of eating takeout food since "there were no pots and pans" in the lodging provided by MGI. Ultimately, the beauty queen decided to relinquish her title after she said she was 'stuck' in Thailand with 'no security,' unable to return to her home in India, and felt unsupported by MGI during her time there, including after $1000 allegedly went missing. DDG seeks sole custody of son with Halle Bailey, granted temporary protection
Halle Bailey's ex DDG has been granted a temporary restraining order against her, weeks after the actress was granted her own temporary restraining order against DDG over allegations of physical and verbal abuse. DDG, 27, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., filed for a restraining order against the "Little Mermaid" actress, 25, on Wednesday. The filing comes three weeks after Bailey requested sole legal and physical custody of the pair's son Halo. In her petition last month, Bailey said she was "seeking permission to take Halo" with her to film in Italy. DDG, a rapper, YouTuber and Twitch streamer, filed a motion this week requesting an emergency hearing, asking for sole legal and physical custody of their son and for the court to restrict Bailey from traveling internationally with Halo. The court denied that request until a hearing could be held on the matter. MORE: Enter headline of content here DDG also claimed in the declaration he filed that he endured instances of physical abuse and coercion. He claimed Bailey "poses an immediate threat to my safety and emotional well-being and more importantly, to the stability and safety of our son" in the filing. DDG specifically claimed Bailey allegedly "routinely used emotional coercion, including but not limited to threats of self-harm" when he attempted to leave their relationship, allegedly "weaponized our pregnancy" with threats that she would "abort our baby should I not reconcile or accede to her demands," and allegedly invaded his privacy, according to the declaration. He included third-party statements from his mother, Tonya Granberry, and her fiancé, George Charlston to try and support his claims. Tonya Granberry claimed in a declaration filed with DDG's TRO request that she and Charlston allegedly discovered several AirTags, which she claimed were "left behind" by Bailey, and alleging it was a "clear and deliberate pattern of unauthorized surveillance and stalking" of her son. On Wednesday, the court granted a temporary order of protection for DDG against Bailey, ordering her not to, in part, harass, assault, stalk, impersonating, or surveil DDG. The court denied his request for "no-contact" and "stay-away" orders until a hearing. DDG's lawyer, Larry M. Bakman, told "Good Morning America" that the custody-related issues regarding DDG and Bailey's son are pending and that DDG "remains committed to resolving them through the appropriate legal channels, not the court of public opinion." Bakman stated that a hearing on both requests for domestic violence restraining orders is set for June 24. Attorneys and representatives for Bailey did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the temporary restraining order against her. She also claimed in a declaration included with her TRO request that "incidents of physical abuse" allegedly occurred before their son was born. According to the declaration, the actress claimed that when Halo is in DDG's care, their son is usually left with DDG's mother. "I cannot keep living like this," Bailey stated at the time. "I never know when he is going to demand our son be in his Mother's care and whether I will be subjected to his threats and abuse."
