Can Trey McBride still be an elite fantasy TE without scoring TDs?

Dude, McBride, first in target share, like you mentioned, first in successful route or successful target per route, third in yards per route, third and first downs per route.
The thing with him, the no touchdown thing is gonna that's pretty consistent with him from college in Colorado State to the pros, like he's not the longest target.
He's more of a very efficient mover type with really good hands and then in the red zone, it's more about big targets, you know, and also, he doesn't create it, he's good after the catch, but he's not super explosive like Kittle or Bowers.
But yeah, your point about the lack of YAC for, um, Trey McBride is well taken, 4.6 yards after contact.
Uh, per yards after catch per reception, that is lower than Brock Bowers, that is low, much lower than George Kittle.
So, yeah, it's interesting you bring up the touchdown stuff cause I think most people are quick to dismiss it as, oh, that's just like some Kyler stat, the lack of touchdowns last year, but it actually might be a little bit more of a McBride thing according to you, Nate.
Yeah, more than most players.
Like some of it is scheme, some of it is quarterback, yada yada yada.
And I, I think with McBride though, it's a thing with him.
Some guys are just, their body type, their play style is just not conducive to the red zone.
It is what it is.
It's kind of one of those things.
Like I don't think he'll ever be, not that anyone's expecting this, an 8 plus 10 plus touchdown guy.
I think his max is going to be 4, like it was in college.
Like I think that's just always how his playstyle is, because to score, you either have to be a monster, like big size in the end zone, or a guy that's really good with the ball in their hands and a guy that's shifty and can break a bunch of tackles.
And so just his playstyle is just not that, he hurdles guys.
You know what I mean?
Like when he has the ball in his hands, he's not a guy that we're going to talk about later, like Tucker Kraft.
But having said all that, him and like, There's a ton of questions, and we've talked about how many times.
Marvin Harrison Junior, Kyler Murray, what's their chemistry like?
Are they ever gonna sort it out?
Not with Kyler Murray and Trey McBride.
Kyler Murray loves Trey McBride.
So it's just like, I don't think that anything's gonna go away.
Like it's one of these where I feel like he's one of the safer buys, and I know it's a heavy investment, but I feel very confident about him this year, even if he doesn't have the touchdowns.
I think he's just gonna have that steady production every week.
Yeah, it's like very minor, just little spots here, but the fact that he's closer to Kittle than he is closer to Bowers, I think is a little surprising cause I think it could be a coin flip between Bowers and McBride as that tight end one overall, uh, in your rankings this year, and like, yeah, there's room for actually Marvin Harrison Junior to improve in year two and Trey McBride to still be an incredible player, you know, like and still maintain that high-end target share.

NFL to continue end zone social justice slogans including ‘End Racism' in upcoming season: Report
The NFL will continue to stencil social justice slogans in end zones for the sixth straight season, the Associated Press reported Thursday, carrying on a program that began in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests against police brutality. As has been the case in recent years, teams will be able to choose between 'End Racism,' 'Choose Love,' 'Inspire Change' or 'Stop Hate' in one end zone, with 'Inspire Change' replacing 'Vote,' offered in 2024. The opposite end zone will feature 'It Takes All of Us.' Players can also voluntarily choose to wear one of the slogans on their helmets. The NFL will also continue other end zone slogans such as 'Salute to Service,' honoring veterans, the AP reported. Advertisement 'We're working hand-in-hand with players, and alongside our clubs, to amplify player voices and underscore what is most important to them,' Anna Isaacson, the NFL's senior vice president of social responsibility, told the AP. 'For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America's most popular sport.' From 2021 to 2024, the NFL featured 'End Racism' in one of the end zones during the Super Bowl, but in 2025, the league decided that Super Bowl LIX would feature 'Choose Love' alongside 'It Takes All of Us' instead. That decision faced criticism in a moment when diversity initiatives were under attack, including by the recently inaugurated President Donald Trump, who was in attendance at the Super Bowl. But NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told The Athletic in February that the decision to swap 'End Racism' for 'Choose Love' was in response to tragedies in the months leading up to the game, including a terrorist attack in New Orleans, the wildfires in the Los Angeles area and a plane crash near Washington, D.C. 'Choose Racism' had been previously featured in the NFC Championship Game in Philadelphia and will remain a stencil option this upcoming season. It's unclear which slogans will be featured at Super Bowl LX. Spot the pattern. Connect the terms Find the hidden link between sports terms Play today's puzzle

Jose Tena's 2-run single helps Nationals rally for 3-2 win over Phillies
WASHINGTON (AP) — Jose Tena hit a go-ahead, two-run single in the seventh inning, Paul DeJong homered for the third time in five games and the Washington Nationals rallied past the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 on Thursday night. DeJong walked leading off the seventh against Jesus Luzardo (11-6). Riley Adams doubled, Daylen Lile walked and, with one out, Tena singled past the drawn-in infield against Orion Kerkering to put Washington ahead 3-2. Shinnosuke Ogasawara (1-1) struck out Kyle Schwarber with a runner on to end the seventh and got his first major league win. Rookie Cole Henry worked the ninth and fanned Trea Turner with a runner on third to secure his first career save. Turner had three infield hits for the National League East-leading Phillies, who have lost three straight while scoring three runs. Philadelphia left eight men on base. Luzardo allowed three runs on four hits in six-plus innings. The Phillies didn't arrive in Washington until early Thursday afternoon after maintenance issues necessitated a change in planes and an overnight stay in Cincinnati after Wednesday night's game. DeJong homered on the first pitch he saw from Luzardo in the fourth to tie it at 1-all. Turner singled with two outs in the fifth and scored on Schwarber's double off the wall in center. Washington starter Brad Lord allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings. Since returning to the rotation on July 22, Lord has a 2.77 ERA and Washington is 4-1 in his starts. Key moment Tena hit a hard grounder the opposite way on a 3-1 fastball and got it past the diving Turner at shortstop. Key stat DeJong has hit safely in five straight, going 9 for 21 (.429) with three homers and seven RBIs. Up next Phillies RHP Zack Wheeler (10-5, 2.68 ERA) opposes Nationals LHP MacKenzie Gore (5-12, 4.09) on Friday. ___ AP MLB:
