Ara Johari's MPV purchase not a 'flex'

Ara Johari denies claims that she recently bought a luxury multipurpose vehicle (MPV) just to show off.
The 'Menjaga Jodoh Orang Lain' singer says the MPV was purchased to travel in comfort for performances.
In fact, Ara clarified, the vehicle was financed through a bank, not purchased outright.
"It is a necessity for someone who travels as much as I do... sometimes to Johor, Penang and so on," she says.
"So, I need a comfortable vehicle, not just for myself but for my team as well. The MPV is great for long journeys, no more body aches."
"I used to rent an MPV every time I travelled out of the district.
"When I thought about it, it made more sense to buy my own as the monthly cost is more or less the same.
She was speaking during a rehearsal for the Festival Tentang Cinta concert.
The concert, which also features Hael Hussaini, Adira Suhaimi, Ziva Magnolia, Andmesh and Mary Grace, will take place at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu this Sunday.
Ara adds that she isn't a fan of spending money carelessly.
"I have a financial officer who is very strict about spending. I get a fixed monthly salary like everyone else.
"Payment for a show can't be used as I wish, it all goes into the company account," she says, stressing that she is not a "shopaholic".

(Video) 2nd Generation K-pop Idols Spill Behind-The-Scenes Dating Secrets In The Industry

It's a well-known fact that many K-pop entertainment agencies impose strict dating bans on their idols. Artists are not allowed to date for a certain period of time, and even after the ban is lifted, companies often strongly advise them to keep any relationships under wraps. This is to avoid potentially damaging their reputation and to preserve the illusion that idols exist solely for their fans. However, idols would still find a way to interact with their crushes within the industry, as risky as it is. One singer even shared her observation of what goes on behind the scenes when it came to dating. Recently, several 2nd-generation idols came together to talk about their dating experiences back in the day. Here are their stories: In the latest episode of BIGBANG's Daesung (대성)'s YouTube show 'ZIP DAESUNG', T-ARA's Hyomin (효민), SISTAR's Bora (윤보라), KARA's Youngji (허영지), and Jewelry's Yewon (김예원) appeared as guests. The group spent time catching up, playing games, and enjoying a meal together. At one point during the show, while enjoying their meal, the idols began sharing stories about their dating and flirting experiences during the early days of their careers. The topic came up as they were discussing their time participating in various variety and reality shows, including the 'Idol Star Athletics Championships' (ISAC), a programme notorious for fuelling dating rumours. It appears those rumours weren't entirely baseless, as the singers admitted to having witnessed, or even experienced, subtle interactions between idols. Jewelry's Yewon recalled an embarrassing moment when she thought a male idol was waving at her from afar. She shyly returned the gesture, only to realise he was actually waving at the female idol behind her. T-ARA's Hyomin went on to reveal that she was one of the few brave enough to take the risk of getting closer to a male idol. She secretly passed him a letter while they were walking past each other at a broadcasting station, and even hinted that the two would sneak off to the building's staircase. She also shared that she once snuck out of the group's dormitory, placing a wig under the covers to make it appear as though she was asleep when their managers came in to check on them. Yewon once again shared her story of idols promising to see each other during breaks at music shows or festivals, not necessarily to interact but to see each other's faces among the crowd without being too suspicious. Daesung described all these stories as romantic, expressing that he wished he could've had those experiences as well. Perhaps, one day, K-pop idols would be able to go on dates with whoever they want without public backlash or restrictions from their agencies. Do you think that will be possible in the future? #SHOWBIZ: Adira Suhaimi stands by Bella Astillah, avoids commenting on drama

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Adira Suhaimi is continuing to show her support for fellow artiste Bella Astillah following a recent incident at Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 (AMT 2025). Adira, 33, considers Bella, 31, to be like a sister. She told Harian Metro that the two remain close and communicate regularly on WhatsApp. "I messaged her yesterday to offer my encouragement. If she's happy, I'm happy. If she's down, I feel it too. All I can do is pray for the best for her," Adira was quoted as saying. When asked about the incident at AMT 2025 involving Bella and actress Sophia Albarakbah, Adira chose not to comment. She said that she prefers to not get involved but always wishes Bella happiness. Adira also expressed her joy over Bella's rumoured relationship with Syed Saddiq, saying: "I just want to see her happy. I even smile when I watch her videos." Adira also shared her sympathy for singer Hafiz Suip, who recently went through a divorce. She hopes he stays strong and continues with his music career. "His voice is a gift. Not everyone has that talent. I hope he keeps going," she said. Adira, who famously collaborated with Hafiz on the hit song 'Ombak Rindu', said she would be open to working with him again if the opportunity arose. Meanwhile, Adira is scheduled to perform at Festival Tentang Cinta on Aug 9 at the Sabah International Convention Centre. She will be sharing the stage with Hael Husaini, Ara Johari, Marygrace, and Indonesian singers Andmesh and Ziva Magnolya. "This is more than just a show; it's like coming home. I want the audience to feel my sincerity on stage," said the artiste, who is originally from Ranau, Sabah.
