With a significant turnout of supporters, the CM expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm, stating, "Seeing such a large number of people at the TDP Mahanadu fills me with courage." He reflected on his previous visits to Kadapa and acknowledged any scepticism surrounding the event, declaring it a testament to Kadapa's status as a TDP stronghold.
This year's Mahanadu, the first since the formation of the coalition government, was held in Kadapa, and Naidu revealed that the response was extraordinary. He reiterated his claims from the previous election campaign that Kadapa's political landscape is set for transformation, attributing the recent electoral victories to the unwavering support of the district's populace.
Celebrating the party's achievements, Naidu revealed that the TDP secured seven of the ten seats in the joint Kadapa district during the recent elections, expressing confidence that through diligent efforts, they could achieve a clean sweep of all ten seats in the upcoming 2029 elections.
Emphasising the people's endorsement, he remarked that voters in Rayalaseema delivered a remarkable verdict, helping the alliance secure 45 out of 52 seats. Naidu pointed out that although the YSRCP won only seven seats in the region, the TDP alliance was successful in Kadapa, prompting some in the opposition to reflect on the results. He asserted that the TDP is not merely a party focused on gaining power.

AP Discoms seek ERC nod to collect true-up charges of Rs 12,771 cr
Vijayawada: The three power distribution companies (discoms) in the state have filed a petition before Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC), seeking permission to collect Rs 12,771 crore from consumers through true-up charges. The ERC released the notification asking the public to file their objections/suggestions on the petitions filed by the discoms. The Left parties have demanded that the govt immediately withdraw the proposal. According to the affidavit, SPDCL wants to collect Rs 3,046 crore through true-up charges to recover the actual costs of power supplied from 2019 to 2024. APEPDCL has urged the commission to allow it to collect Rs 7,790 crore, while APCPDCL wants to recover Rs 1,935 crore. The discoms have been collecting fuel and power purchase cost adjustment (FPPCA) charges for the past three years. Recently, the distribution companies filed a petition before APERC seeking ratification of its decision to collect 40 paise per unit, which has been continuing for the past six months. He blamed the previous YSRCP govt for the discoms' move to collect the true-up and FPPCA charges. "The mismanagement and irregularities during the YSRCP regime forced discoms to recover the true-up and FPPCA charges from the consumer. The discoms have filed petitions to collect the dues pertaining to the YSRCP regime," Gottipati claimed. Dismissing the minister's allegations, CPI-M leaders V Srinivasa Rao and Ch Baburao said blaming the previous regime is only a "cover-up act" by the TDP-led NDA govt, and warned of agitations across the state if the discoms did not withdraw the true-up charges notice.

Naidu vows to complete Kadapa steel plant by Dec 2028
1 2 Tirupati: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu pledged to complete the Kadapa steel plant by December 2028, expressing confidence that not only Jammalamadugu but the entire Kadapa district will benefit once the plant becomes operational. Naidu went door-to-door distributing NTR Bharosa social security pensions to beneficiaries in Gudem Cheruvu, Jammalamadugu constituency on Friday. He visited a weaver's family and interacted with the head of the family, Alivelamma. Later, Naidu arrived at the Praja Vedika public meeting venue in an auto-rickshaw. Addressing the gathering at Praja Vedika, the CM stated that Andhra Pradesh ranks first in the country in terms of social security pension disbursements, followed by Telangana and Kerala. "The TDP-led NDA government has brought the state back on the path of development despite all challenges. The destruction left behind by the YSRCP in the state is unparalleled in the country. While it is easy to destroy good work, rebuilding is extremely difficult, but the NDA alliance in power is shouldering the responsibility to protect the state's interests," Naidu emphasided. Targeting former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu questioned the purpose of his Nellore visit. "Your ex-MLA Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy made objectionable remarks about Kovur TDP legislator Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy. When the entire world condemned his remarks, you went to show solidarity with him. What message are you trying to send? When a party member commits a crime, is it not the leader's duty to correct and punish him?" the CM asked. Banakacherla: BRS blames Congress, BJP ‘silence' for AP going ahead
HYDERABAD Failure of Telangana and Central governments to stop the Polavaram-Banakacherla Link Project (PBLP) of Andhra Pradesh and silence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, are making AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son N. Lokesh reiterate that they would construct the project, come what may, BRS leader T. Harish Rao has said. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the former minister for irrigation accused Mr. Revanth Reddy of having a tacit understanding with the AP Government (Mr. Naidu) and the Centre and cooperating with the construction of the project. He sought to know why neither the State Government nor the Chief Minister or his Cabinet colleagues were not responding to Mr. Lokesh's statement. He stated that Mr. Revanth Reddy was creating a confusing situation around the issue so that AP could continue its work pertaining to the project. Otherwise why the Chief Secretary of Telangana would write to the Ministry of Jal Shakti making it clear that the State would not attend the meeting convened to discuss the project and the Chief Minister along with Irrigation Minister and authorities would participate in the meeting and agree for a committee to discuss the outstanding issues including PBLP. Stating that Mr. Revanth Reddy was bent up expressing gratification to his political mentor Mr. Naidu by allowing work on PBLP, Mr. Harish Rao reasoned that the silence of Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the planned project was making Mr. Naidu bulldoze his way. It was due to the cooperation of Mr. Revanth Reddy, Mr. Naidu and Mr. Lokesh were speaking with such high conviction in the matter. The BRS leader asked the AP Government and its bigwigs why the Central agencies such as the Central Water Commission, Polavaram Project Authority, Godavari River Management Board, the Expert Appraisal Committee of MoEF had returned the PBLP proposal. He pointed out that it was because of the Telangana Congress leaders' silence had allowed expansion of Pothireddypadu Head Regulator to enhance its water drawal capacity from 11,400 cusecs to over 60,000 cusecs. On Mr. Lokesh's statement that the AP Government had never opposed Telangana's projects including during his father's tenure as the Chief Minister during 2014-19, the BRS leader suggested that he find out who addressed seven letters to the Centre against the Kaleshwaram project during that period. He suggested to agree for 968 tmc ft assured water in Godavari to Telangana, withdraw complaints/letters wrote against Telangana's projects, agree for 155 tmc ft more Krishna water on diversion of Godavari water to Krishna and agree for 65% share in surplus waters of Godavari before asking support for PBLP.
