TDP used Mahanadu to target YSRCP leaders, alleges MLC Botcha Satyanarayana
YSRCP MLC Botcha Satyanarayana has criticised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Mahanadu programme, stating that it served no meaningful purpose for the people of Andhra Pradesh. 'The TDP leaders used the event as a platform to launch a diatribe against YSRCP leaders and divert attention from the failures of the NDA government,' Mr. Satyanarayana told the media at his camp office on Saturday. 'The TDP Mahanadu was drama. Political parties use such platforms, especially while in power, to highlight their achievements in welfare and development. However, the TDP's focus remained on criticising the YSRCP,' he said and asked why the TDP leaders failed to announce specific dates for the welfare schemes promised by them. Mr. Satyanarayana criticised that NDA government for renaming the YSR district as YSR Kadapa. 'During the YSRCP's tenure, NTR district was named after the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, N.T. Rama Rao. Will the NDA government change its name to NTR Vijayawada district?' he asked. Evaluation of SSC papers The former Education Minister alleged irregularities in the evaluation of Class X (SSC) exam answer scripts. 'A majority of the 16,000 students who applied for re-evaluation were found to be victims of grossly mishandled paper correction. Some students who initially received 20 marks were found to have scored 90 marks after revaluation. This reflects the utter negligence and careless approach with which the answer scripts were evaluated,' he said. He demanded that the Education Department announce how many papers each evaluator was asked to assess daily. 'Vennupotu Dinam' The YSRCP MLC said that the party would organise 'Vennupotu Dinam' on June 4 to 'highlight the TDP's failures in implementing its election promises'.

Emotional scenes unfold at TDP Mahanadu in Kadapa as AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu praises district president for grand success of party's maiden conclave
TIRUPATI: The maiden TDP Mahanadu's public meeting held at Kadapa on Friday witnessed some emotional scenes when Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu appreciated Kadapa district TDP President Reddeppagari Sreenivasulu Reddy and his wife, Kadapa MLA R Madhavi Reddy, for the grand success of the ruling party's maiden annual conclave. This was followed by a massive public meeting attended by more than five lakh people from across the state. Since the inception of the TDP back in the 1980s, the TDP never held its party annual conclave, Mahanadu, at Kadapa in the last forty years, as Kadapa remained a stronghold of the Congress party and then the YSRCP until 2019. However, after the TDP-led NDA alliance managed to make inroads into Kadapa, considered the bastion of former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy , in the 2024 general elections by securing 7 out of 10 assembly seats, coupled with the party securing 45 out of 52 assembly constituencies in the four Rayalaseema districts of the state, the TDP leadership deemed it fit to hold their maiden Mahanadu at Kadapa. This decision came in the first year after the NDA alliance stormed back to power by securing a landslide victory, winning 164 out of 175 assembly constituencies in the general elections. After Kadapa became host to the first-ever TDP Mahanadu attended by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu himself, along with all his council of ministers and other elected representatives from the TDP on the first two days of the event on Tuesday and Wednesday, all eyes were on the grand finale. This was held in the form of a public meeting, which was scheduled to be attended by over five lakh people from across the state. When the chief minister reached the public meeting venue at Kadapa on Friday, he was thoroughly ecstatic with the arrangements and the overflowing crowds. When Chandrababu Naidu looked at Kadapa district TDP President Sreenivasulu Reddy and remarked, 'Srinivas, you have done an excellent job in terms of the arrangements,' the latter couldn't control his joy and broke down emotionally into tears as the appreciation came directly from the CM. During his address at the public meeting, Naidu appreciated the efforts of the Kadapa district TDP unit and the alliance partners in securing 7 out of 10 assembly constituencies in Kadapa in the previous elections. He urged them to keep up their spirits and aim to secure a complete clean sweep by winning 10 out of 10 assembly seats in Kadapa district in the 2029 general elections.

Let's set aside egos, there will be no divorce, says Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh
KADAPA: TDP national general secretary and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh has emphasised the importance of unity in governance and the need for political humility. Addressing a massive public gathering as part of the TDP Mahanadu in Kadapa on Thursday, he said the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance, with the full support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working efficiently to develop the State on all fronts. Lokesh called for humility in leadership, drawing lessons from the previous regime's downfall. 'Arrogance destroyed the past rulers. From 151 seats, they were reduced to just 11. Power should never disconnect us from the ground. We should serve people whether we are in power or not,' he stressed. Addressing concerns within the alliance, he acknowledged minor issues but emphasised unity. 'Even small families have internal issues. In an alliance, it is natural. But we should put egos aside and work together. Write this down - there will be no break-up. If we want the State to prosper and people to be happy, we should stay united,' he asserted. Lokesh underscored the importance of government continuity for sustained progress. Reflecting on the development achieved during 2014-19, he said the change in government in 2019 halted Andhra Pradesh's development momentum, and sent it back by 30 years due to poor governance.

TDP Mahanadu in Kadapa is a Grand Success, says CM Chandrababu
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu hailed the Kadapa TDP Mahanadu as a resounding success while addressing a public meeting in Kadapa. The CM encouraged party workers, urging them to chant "Jai Telugu Desam," and hoped for a unified roar from Rayalaseema to resonate throughout the entire state. With a significant turnout of supporters, the CM expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm, stating, "Seeing such a large number of people at the TDP Mahanadu fills me with courage." He reflected on his previous visits to Kadapa and acknowledged any scepticism surrounding the event, declaring it a testament to Kadapa's status as a TDP stronghold. This year's Mahanadu, the first since the formation of the coalition government, was held in Kadapa, and Naidu revealed that the response was extraordinary. He reiterated his claims from the previous election campaign that Kadapa's political landscape is set for transformation, attributing the recent electoral victories to the unwavering support of the district's populace. Celebrating the party's achievements, Naidu revealed that the TDP secured seven of the ten seats in the joint Kadapa district during the recent elections, expressing confidence that through diligent efforts, they could achieve a clean sweep of all ten seats in the upcoming 2029 elections. Emphasising the people's endorsement, he remarked that voters in Rayalaseema delivered a remarkable verdict, helping the alliance secure 45 out of 52 seats. Naidu pointed out that although the YSRCP won only seven seats in the region, the TDP alliance was successful in Kadapa, prompting some in the opposition to reflect on the results. He asserted that the TDP is not merely a party focused on gaining power.
